  • This is the best cd, Ever

  • Holy mother. California One sounds just like "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd :)

  • Just discovered this song....LOVE IT.

  • @NOrleansbro Man I wish I were just discovering this again! haha。I used to listen to it a ton

  • On the whole, I'm not a avant fan of "indie" music. I listen to some, but not often.

The Decemberists have always been okay in my book, but nothing out of the ordinary.

    Songs like this though...

They make me look forward to the future of the genre. It's a young genre, and this is a young song. In 10, maybe 15 years... if bands like this are still kicking, they're going to be making the kind of music we haven't seen the likes of in a very long time. It's more than a great song, it's a promise.

  • love the decemberists!!!!!

    love the song!!!!!!!

    love multcolib!!!!

  • @psnapplebee, why even leave a comment? Why are you looking up bands you hate? Or are you just weird that way? Smh....

  • This makes my heart hurt for my home out west. Why did I ever leave.

  • @lilliza I'm thinking the exact same thing.

  • @wut381 Seamless fitting indeed. Beautiful song & Breathtaking drive and hikes.....

  • If I were such a ghost, I would stay so close to you, you could feel my breath on your cheek.

Tracked down that Guy Maddin movie. Way weird, but a great line and fits well in this song

  • I love the switch-over between the 2 songs

  • I recorded this and I can tell you it was a pleasure

  • @simonwiddowson ...that is too cool! Thanks for helping to make the world a better place.

  • @simonwiddowson I WANT TO KISS YOUR FIT...NOW!!!

  • linda musica!

  • @coldoaisis Musica linda*

  • Favorite Decemberists song for sure.

  • I've heard of ghosts,

Good ghosts who wander the battlefield at night,

    Guiding soldiers out of danger.

You can see their omens everywhere,

Omens warning of stray bullets and lurking enemies.

If I were such a ghost,

I would stay so close to you

You could feel my breath on your cheek.

  • this song has been on repeat for like the last hour...

  • @kittyxproductions me too..and I just found it today. another one that has been on repeat is three peaches by neutral milk hotel..

  • The Decemberists are one of the only sources of real music on today's scene.

  • Mmmm... relaxing.

  • simply lovely, in every way.

  • beau-ti-ful. that is all.

  • 5:10-5:50 is such an eerily sweet part of the song. It really gives me the chills.

  • something in this song invokes a feeling in me that i can't really describe.

  • I have this song on repeat right now :D

  • Also, does anyone know what kind of crash cymbal the drummer uses? I love it.

  • 4:00-4:46 is the greatest thing I've ever heard. And I'm not just say that. It's legitimately the best bit of music I've heard in my life. It's heaven.

  • Colin has this weird creepy quality to his voice in this song, it's so great. Wonderful melody... totally realized.

  • @cedarnouns Overreacting, much?

  • @cedarnouns Also the road, and the wine which he sings about are made by... wait for it... THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN CALIFORNIA! So not only are you overreacting, but you're just plain wrong.

  • Does anyone have an idea as to what the second part of this song is about?

  • California wine, neath' the vines. This songs about driving drunk. Road trip! BTW I know the title says CA #1 but the word one doubles as wine, they sound identical when phrased properly. No doubt this song was written on a drunken CA road trip since they're from Oregon, it's not far away.
