@initialmoe ive been too lazy to take it out, mainly because i dont have a garage to do it, id have to do it outside, and i dont know carbs very well, so that would be kindof risky, and also ive been just attacking it with carb cleaner every now and again, and sometimes use sea foam. but i might just end up switching it with a weber.. but everything is soo hard to find for this model, i might just swap the engine out eventually
thanks bro , theres a video of a 87 tercel yours witha 2ZZGE ,VVTLi from a Corolla XRS ,with Apex-PFC , that tercel is sick!!!! . thats the latest trend in PR, tercel with XRS engines. check it out
i had a red 87 like this one , i rebuilt the engine , shaved and ported the head ,swapped the factory piston carburator for a 36/32 WEBER carb ,MSD ignition , custom made header , custom straight exhaust and Walker muffler. its was quick for a little 1.5 12 valve engine. it gave a few sohc civics a surprised from stop light to stop light. Mine was 4 spd. with a semi-bronce clutch and factory pressure plate. I had good memories of it . iused to hide my stash in the side pockets on the cluster

Nope, my tercel never gave me any problems...just clean your carb and everything should be fine.
