I am a 1920's jazz fan - and to me this is pure kitsch; but I have heard it since I was a kid and I love it. And I have to admit - it swings like hell!
This (or rather, the tail end of it) was featured in the very first episode of "HAPPY DAYS" in January 1974, 'ronald'. The earlier episodes were more failthful to the period- but after it became a "studio audience" show, the producers just forgot to pay closer attention to the clothing and hair styles, and the whole atmosphere became "artificial"...
Les Paul used to get drunk and beat the buh-jeepers out of Mary Ford.

Way ahead of its time for 1951 . . . RIP Les Paul; great innovator!

Last time I heard this was in an early episode of Happy Days before they started wearing 70's hair in 50's settings.
