A higher test score on a written test does not mean someone will perform better on the streets. It does not mean they be tougher or braver. There is simply no objective criteria for the word "best".

If as a head teacher, I have two people going for the same job, one white, and one black, I may give the job to either one of them, no matter what they scored on the 'test'. Within reason. Not only that, but if all our teachers are white, I may just give the job to the black guy, even if he isn't as qualified. Why would I do that? it's not fair?

Affirmative action should be outlawed the day rich parents are not allowed to use family influence to get their children into ivy league schools and high powered jobs in politics and business. If as a head teacher, I have two people going for the same job, one white, and one black, I may give the job to either one of them, no matter what they scored on the 'test'. Within reason. Not only that, but if all our teachers are white, I may just give the job to the black guy, even if he isn't as qualified. Why would I do that? it's not fair?

They want to show that all people of all colours are welcome. And maybe he can encourage some of the black students in my school. They see a black teacher, it can inspire them to think, yeah, even I can do this! And maybe the guy made me laugh in the interview. Maybe I admire his dedication. @runeman1996 Ok, runeman, you're still not understanding. Did I say that if I had a black guy who got 0.1 on a test, and a white guy got 100% I would pick the black guy just because we don't have enough black guys? You have to draw the line somewhere.
If I had to have have a brain surgeon operate on me, and one guy got 80% on a test, and another guy got 100%, I would have the 100% guy. BUT! If the 80% guy actually saved more lives than the 100% guy, then I would have the 80% guy.
