I was crazy for this song when I heard it barely the first time at the time when I was 14. Yes, I too remember how she pulled the microphone away when she pitched the highest not but I couldn't remember what she wore (the stripped dress). It wasn't popular for any given moment in the place where I lived. The melody, her sensational presentation and the little story just never stopped haunting my mind for 35 years. It was that little girl who hoped her named to be called that caught my heart.
i run out of words for thank you. don't think i'll ever find this one, don't think anyone on earth will have the same feeling that i feel right now both for the song and the find. I am truly touched.
I can't believe I found this song. I remember this beautiful lyric song from the Yamaha Music Festival. The Grand Prize winner song of Yamaha Music Festival in 1974. Thank you so much to SundownerDrifting and please post more of Yamaha (Tokyo) Music Festival winner songs if you have.
Wow, what a great song! The first sleeve that you show was of the Japanese release, and I'm sure I read it was sung in Japanese, do you have this version? Please post any more WPSF songs that you have. Thanks!
@SundownerDrifting - I saw it on TV. The way she sang on stage at the Tokyo competition was amazing. How she pulled the microphone away to sing the high pitch was striking. Would anyone have the video version of her winning singing it in Tokyo? The vibrance and ambience then was far better than this audio on Youtube.
