  • Yeah buena rola y más por que la mencionan en el Libro de Stephen King "La torre Oscura"

    Pt.3 (Dark Tower) muy bien!!!

  • When I first heard this song/album in 1985, it was a lil strange to hear ZZ Top doing dance music with heavy synth's cuz it was such a long ways from the blues/rock that they were known for but I think they pulled it off quite well & Velcro Fly is still a kick ass song even after all these years.

  • anybody know where I can listen to JUST the drums?

  • Bring Back Hot Pink Hats!!!!!!!!

    ZZ Top For Life.

Isn't it weird that the only guy without a beard is named Frank Beard?

  • ZZ really started getting from their roots with Eliminator, and went over the top with this record. Gone were the raw blues and in were the slick overdubs and techno sounding stuff. I miss the old ZZ!

  • why do they show zz danceing and crap but they don't show billy gibbons playing the guitar solo in fact you don't ever see a guitar in the whole video except the bass guitar

  • im pretty sure theyre just being silly

  • yep, I checked this out because I read The Dark Tower too.

  • I read it three times, but I looked for the song the first time today

  • I thought I'd be the only person looking at this because of the Dark Tower

  • Haha, I think most of the people here know it cause of King

  • i looked it up because of the dark tower, seems a bit upbeat for sacrifice

  • Very Nice!!!!

  • It's amazing how many people came on to hear this song because of The Dark Tower; just like me.

  • haha yeah thats why i came on to check it out, i knew zz top but never heard this song

  • yeah, i did as well, but it doesn't sound like i imagined it to be...

  • That's right :D

  • Me too. Had to hear it, when Eddie in the book compared the drums with this song :P

  • God Drums lol I just got past that part whole reason I listened to this song

  • "Der Mann in Schwarz floh durch die Wüste, und der Revolvermann folgte ihm."

  • Oh yeah, the Dark Tower drums for sacrifice

  • THE GOD DRUMS! SACRIFICE!

  • Awesome choreography from Paula those chicks are hot doing the dance thing hehe

  • so THIS is the drumbeat from Lud..... /vomit

  • You wanted to hear it too huh? I can see why it made them kill eachother.

  • I can't hear this song without feeling biased.

  • Great Upload!

Thanks to Steven King´s Dark Tower I now got to ZZ Top =D

  • haha, thats one way.....actually thats kinda the way i got started too haha

  • I'm with u, i knew it from DT too ;]

  • funny shiiiitee! they're my favvve band EVER!apart from enuff z;nuff

  • wow, i just felt some brain cells die right there

  • This dance is awesome; if I see/remember this when I'm drunk, I'll do it too. ZZ Top rocks.

  • I actually clicked on this for the Drums,,,Love this track UPLOUUUUUD!!

Then i remembered the God Drums of LUD,,,crack me up

  • thers a guy in my church that looks a lot like the guy with the white - ish bierd

  • the guy with the white - ish beard is dusty [i olny know his nick name]of zz top

  • Well they dance better than Alex Van Halen, that's for sure.

  • These guys rock, but they can't dance for $hit.

  • its the god drums time for someone to dance...........

  • thats what i was thinking

  • Stephen King's Dark Tower I believe was the greatest tribute for this song ever

and for the record for me it's very good:)

  • Yeah! I was reading the waste lands last night and I got to the Lud part where Eddie said the drumming reminded him of Velcro Fly. Thats the very reason I just looked up this song xD

  • same here:)

  • Yeah....and now i can just imagine the residents of Lud doing their sacrifices with the drums playing

  • I knew the band from before, but I first listened to this song after reading Stephen Kings The Dark Tower III...

    It's cool.

    Both music and books.

  • when you watch the video the girls are dancing backwards

thier dancing was recorded then played backwards

  • I watch this video for the Stephen King's video me too

  • i was wondering as i searced this song if there was gonaa be anyone else just listening cause the Dark Tower. aparently evry person whos ever wached this video

  • I'm in the middle of Dark Tower III at the moment (third read through and that is the truth) and I've finally decided to find out how this goes. Now if King had used Sharp Dressed Man as the soundtrack to a post-apocalyptic firefight... THAT would've been a surreal image...

  • Blaine is a pain, and that is the truth.

Ive seen what cannot be unseen, and that is the truth.

Rowlands crazed search isnt that crazy to me, and that is the truth.

The truth is were all a bit crazy.

The tower is all, and that is the truth.

Perfect oblivion lies in everyones mind, and that is the truth.

I stand between nothing and infinity and understand neither, and that is the truth.

The truth died long ago and I dont think it will be back any time soon.

  • My first thought was that he lied in every word.........

  • always a good classic all zz top stuff love the cars

  • had to have a listen after reading the dark tower. glad i did, its great.

  • I am ALSO checking this because of reading the Dark Tower series... I am familiar with ZZ Top though, just not this song. I think it's kinda funny that King chose this song to be played in that wacky place in the book. I guess it's cause the drums are so loud in the first place.

  • hahaha. me too, man.

  • wow... that's funny. I finally decided to see what the drums sounded like on the song because I'm reading The Dark Tower III. They don't make me want to kill, but perhaps if I was living in a wasteland they might. How many people are reading this book right now?

  • Not another person in the world could play lead, rhythm and bass all at6 the same time.

  • Geddy Lee?

  • While Geddy Lee is a fantastic arist, I have never seen a double neck bass/lead with Rush. Perhaps I am wrong, (ever been worng? happened to me) But Billy is the king of lead & rhythm playing. But I am not a big Rush fan and I am a big ZZ fan. just personal prefrence.

  • Ah technicality. I was referring mainly to Geddy's simultaneous superb bass-soloing/keyboarding/singing skill. Actually, I don't remember what your original comment was, and I'm going to dispute the supreme awesomeness of ZZ Top and their basslines because I'd surely lose. (but you gotta admit, some of Lee's are pretty sweet),

ZZ and Rush are two of my favorite bands, ;)

  • Actually I my comment was Not another person in the world could play lead, rhythm and bass all at the same time. Geddy Lee is probably the best at singing and bass I have ever heard. If he has played lead gutar, I'd would love to hear it, because of the bass licks that guy does is so dang good!

  • Ever heard of Mark King?? Best damn bass player (and lead singer) of Level 42? Check him out.

  • Agreed. He is one of the masters of the 4 string without a doubt.

  • Level 42 and Rush are not in the same genre (L42 is funk/rock/jazz) and I believe Mark King has recorded some songs playing lead guitar but their music has more focus on bass sound. And maybe I'm just opinionated but I think Mark has a better singing voice than Geddy...but that's just me! ;)

  • Also if you like groups with 3 members, check out an old group called "Glass Harp" with Phil Keagy (sic?) on gutar.

  • lol...

King's dark tower series inspired me to look this up as well, I'm familiar with many ZZ top songs (I keep several in my Ipod at all times) but his one I didn't know and had to check it out to help visualize King's vision of the city of Lud.

  • I looked it up for the same reason. Not at all what I expected. Thought it would be something lower and heavier, more like Cheap Sunglasses.

  • Blaine is the truth

    Blaine is a pain

    and thats the truth

  • Dark Tower FTMFW. And thats is the truth

  • Man i had to check out this song after reading the part about the city of lud. Commala come come, the dark tower awaits.

  • ZZ Top fans like me are out numbered by Dark Tower fans. And for the love of me what the heck is Dark Tower?

  • is a book series by stephen king, its very good. :)

  • it's a book series from Stephen king. and wow i didnt know everyone listened this song just because of the book...i thaught it was because they actually liked classic rock.

  • This is not a bad song but ZZ is really getting away from their roots with this one. Way too much synthesized music.

  • It's sounds like Shock The Monkey

  • I wandered onto this video cause i knew the name from somthing but now thanks to fellow dark tower fans i know, cheers :D

  • Blain is a pain. And That is the truth.

  • I'm pretty sure that Blaine is dangerous, and that is the truth

  • You have to watch Blaine all the time, and that is the truth.

  • What is black and white and red all over? A blushing zebra, and that is the truth.

  • Blain is the truth

I want to go back and that is the truth

I have to go back and that is the truth

I'll go crazy it I don't go back and that is the truth

  • I have a girl friend that can do this song to a T. The kinda woman that I cant believe would hang out with me.

  • Well they will do things in studio which they can play live! ;)

  • I read somewhere when this came out that Paula Abdul did the choreography for them in this video. LOL! I am totally serious! Whether that was true, that's another story.

  • It's true,I saw it on VH-1

  • WoW! This is soo bad that I absolutely cannot get enough of it!

  • Stereo youtube FTW!!!

  • That funky little band from Texas brought their gritty asses to the techno 80s and played the game better than those new wave wimps. They sure as hell made MTV fun to watch back then.

  • So i had to look this up having just read Stephen King's "The Wastelands". the drum beat blares over the speakers in a war-torn city, driving the people on to keep fighting.

  • Oh, yes, I did the same. Are the drums at the beginning those that Eddie Dean recognizes, do you think?

Stephen King's "Dark Tower" book is also very entertaining. I definitely recommend it to all.

  • i think the drums are the same throughout the entire. All Pubes Must Die!!!

  • Lol, same here:) Pretty good song btw

  • bad side of your mom!

  • yo

ever seen a pair like these buddys?

  • Wow, I miss the 1980s. What a different time that was- no credit crisis, no War on Terror, much less tension in the air. The music was so fun at that time. It was like the music smiled through sound. I miss those days.

  • i wish i lived in those days

  • I could listen to this song for, lets say: 19 times? or 99?

  • the tower!

  • Wow... I guess the only major reason for anyone to look this song up is because of The Waste Lands...

...All things service the path of the beams.

I don't know. Its pretty "eighties John Carpenter" to be used for human sacrifice. King IS corny.

  • Which, incidentally, is exactly the reason I looked it up. It's an ok song though, never really was into ZZ Top.

  • Yeah, I looked it up because I wanted to know what they sounded like.

  • eddie!

  • this was a cool tune but a lame video

  • Man, I love watching that Brunette chick dance. I think I love her. I like her moves.

  • had to here the drums of lud

  • uh huh... the sticky stuff they refer to in this song is velcro. And on the song "Pearl Necklace" what they're referring to is an actual necklace made of pearls... can't slide one by you, can we?

  • ok.. i wanna hear drums from Dark Tower from Lud too xD... but i have a question.. do you remeber some titles of other songs from Dark Tower - i wanna listen this "soundtrack" xD.. now i know only The Beatles - Hey Jude, ZZ Top - Velcro Fly, Rolling's Stones - Paint in Black, Tony Orlando - Knock Three Times

  • Someone saved my life tonight by Elton John

  • man of constant sorrow

  • Blietskrieg Pop is in there.

At least Eddie says "Hey, ho, let's go" quite a bit.

  • Haha I too came here to hear the god drums of Lud, I'm surprised to see so many other Tower Junkies! Good song too. Long days and pleasent nights.

  • lol its funny that every one wanted this coz of dark tower. ive just started to re-read the books :P

  • zz top are legend!

  • Even being 15 year old girl, (this being my father's account), I've always loved ZZ Top, and have listened to this song. When I came across it in the Dark Tower series, I nearly shit myself with joy. It's those things that makes me love Stephen King. (:

  • I wonder what ZZ top or Stephen King would say if they knew about this ... surely would make them smile... i only came to hear the drums of LUD but to be honest i did not expect them to be that fast .. in my mind they sounded more like drums from a jungle tribe or even slower and without a rythm..just a constant bum .... bum...

  • I came here because of the drums in Lud too. I think a better comment now would be who didn't?

  • Touché

  • I'm so glad that I'm not the only one here just cos of Stephen King...I'm literally on the page where they first hear the drumbeat and had to find out what it sounded like. Its a pretty good song!

  • God i envy you for being only there, it's the best saga i've ever read, made me cry several times, i got depressed when i was finished with it, because it was so nice. And the drumbeat really does sound a little scary if not hearing the other stuff

  • Yeah, I actually consider myself a ZZ Top fan, but this song wasn't on my Radar. Had to get a listen after reading the Waste Lands myself :)

  • to be honest.. i know two fantasty saga better than Dark Tower

    1. The Book of the New Sun - Gene Wolf

    2. Lord of the Rings - Tolkien (yes yes, nothing new)

    3. Dark Tower - Steven King

  • ROLAND!!! THe city of LUD!! hahaha I am a dork but I now know what the drum beat sounds like!!

  • Haha so many people (including me) came here because of The Dark Tower. Hahaha.

  • Blain is a pain. And THAT is the truth

  • Yeah! Finally I know the song....

  • i got goosebumps and thinking of the city Lud

  • a bit too 80s. sorry. don't know how zz top could get into this

  • lol at around 2:31 the bugs look like penises

  • I love how the Stephen King fans (don't worry, I'm one of them) have taken over this post from the ZZ Top fans (who I'm also one of.)

  • It's great! I would never have listened to ZZ Top if it wasn't for SK, good times!

  • lawls, came here cuz of the dark tower....guess i wasnt the only one

  • Me too... ;)

  • Dusty Hill on a keyboard does not look right to me..

  • oh man i just finished reading the wastelands and looked up this song specifically to hear the drum beat...its very cheesy eighties

  • "CITY OF LUD"

  • the dark tower books are awsome except for the wizard and glass that one i didnt care for but the one with lud was good "if you dont ask him silly questions he wont play silly games"

  • it is hilarious to think that the people of Lud would be listening to these drums all the time....lmao....gasher especially loved the beat

  • hey what is the vid that has them spinning theier guitars on their belts ?

  • pizzabutt15047: That video was "Legs" and came out in the mid 80's.

  • If I was retarded from radiation poisoning, I'd totally worship this song too.

  • But your an idiot and who cares...

  • Love this song!

  • what does this have to do with dark tower?

  • Judging from the comments, it has something to do with the drums of the city of Lud or something. I don't own the book, so I could be wrong.

  • Basically, in the book, a computer in the city is fried and it plays this song at about the same time every day. The people don't know, exactly, what it is, so they assume it's war drums played by the Gods, and so they attack each other until the song ends. They think that's what the Gods want them to do. At least that's what I remember. Been a while since I read it.

And to answer a question you were probably about to ask, the book takes place way way way in the future... I think... Probably...

  • the book sounds interesting, wich dark tower book is that from?

  • The city of Lud is in the third book. It doesn't really happen until the last few chapters though.

  • thanks!

  • I have readed the Dark Tower series and this song is not what I think it is. This song is great!!!

  • Ya gotta love ZZ Topp. They rule.

  • Well, i´ve also readt the Dark Tower,

but i´m here because of ZZ TOP !!

  • I came here cause of Dark Tower too! great book!

  • Wow i also just finshed the third dark tower book and can't wait to start the next

  • real men wear pink hats!!!

  • yea in the city of lud then blain killed everyone

  • came here from dark tower waste lands too lol. amazing book.

  • Haha, I'm also reading through The Dark Tower. I'd never even heard of this song before...it's pretty awesome though.

  • Great song! I,too, am halfway through the Dark Tower. Steven King rocks!

  • Wow. I came here for the Dark Tower as well. I just finished the third yesterday. Good to see there's plenty of other Dark Tower fans out there. I've never actually met another person who's read any other than people I've forced to read it.

  • I came here cause of Dark Tower too!

Does sound like Eddie Dean music :P

  • Big pants!

  • there is apparantly talk of a fim being made of the dark tower series... which should be epic

  • The Dark Tower is the greatest book series ever. It's up there with Lord of the Rings.

  • Its better than lord of the rings, LOTR is old news..

  • i'm reading the black tower and i wanted to hear the song! amazing!

  • great song, love it. especially the intro

  • ive velcrose on my manbag, now that is called cool.

  • ROTFL @ Dave. Ha ha ha.

  • dark tower books kick ass
