  • JOE STRUMMER FOR FUCK SAKE MAN ITS A LEGEND TALKING ABOUT A LEGEND

  • So #%*€^ing bad ass!

  • I would want to rush the stage, too - to put my arms 'round Spidy and take him home with me... LOL...Here it's 2011 and I'm 58 and just discovering this brilliant band. Amazing.

  • That is Shane! If so alcohol is a real bitch!

  • He's so cute

  • At 3:00 just after the scream Shane has the look of...."Yeah, and what of it"

    What a hero

  • @horrormonger It's punk rock. I'm sure you're used to whiny, nasally singers who cry about girls and such, but Shane is amazing. Please shut up.

  • @tomrox2003 PUNK ROCK!? You ARE drunk!

  • 1:55 <- replay button for this amazing scream! holy crap!

  • Yeah "bury me at sea, where no murdered ghost can haunt me, if i rock upon the waves, then no corpse can lie upon me..."

  • sometimes i f-ing love you, youtube

  • he is so cute!

  • the pogues are so fun to watch live.

i like that shane macgowan is dressed like madonna

  • I saw this song live last year.

The place went INSANE. I thought I was going to die lol.

    It was awesome.

  • Look how good Shane looks here. F'n alcohol........

  • There are no longer rockers like Shane or Joe... god bless 'em.

  • @Prenisonona Shane & Joe are two of my biggest musical influences ever since I was we laddy

  • Primeval and supreme...5 stars.

  • Did Joe Strummer ever cover this song?

  • i saw them in sheffield last night. FECKING INSANE. those bastards got the whole place moving! RIP joe. x

  • i was there too amazin gig

  • YEEAAH!! I love the Pogues!! Shane is amazing and so is Joe!

  • what is meant by [coming up 3 boys...keeps coming up 3 boys]

  • supposedly a drowning man will come up 3 times, before he's lost to the deep...

  • @dcrown7 I can't say for certain but I think the line is coming up 3, boys. Possibly refering to the Holy trinity?

  • @smoog so that was my first thought..i mean its simple to go with the holy trinity ,but as it turns out it was explained to me via e mail...when a lad fell overboard u only have so much time to get them out.they are known to pop up 3 times before the sea clams them 4 good..that made much more sense to me

  • @dcrown7 It means that he is in the middle of a circlejerk of boys and he is making three penises come up. It's pretty simple, really.

  • I love that scream.

  • Excellent!

    Thank you for posting

  • That yell of shanes..when he takes his glasses off almost to say "listen to this f@ckers" then puffs a smoke. What a great man!!!!

  • bury me at sea where no martyred ghost can haunt me...

  • @peniSmightierThan The actual lyric is "...where no murdered ghost..."

  • Dammit Shane, you are living my dream!!

  • Lol ya I saw that simpsons episode...so funny. Once saved always saved is a Protestant doctrine. Their view of heaven is much different from Catholics.

  • Joe is so right. I'm an (Irish) American and I can remember blasting this song from my car stereo in the summer of '88. I can't describe how exhilarating it was for a kid who grew up hearing Irish lullabies and punk rock.

  • this land was always ours its the pround land of our fathers, it belongs to us and them, not to any of the others................

  • ...the Pogues and Joe Strummer!

  • How I would of loved to been there!!!

    God Bless The Pogues!

  • mandola!!!great!!

  • gr888888888!

  • Coming up three's boys coming up three's boys :) yyyyaaaahhhoooooooooo

  • As an mexican american this music fills me just as well cuzz we are all cathoclic alcholics...lol

  • yes, you are right, we are kindred spirits. Did you ever see the simpsons episode when Homer and Bart went to Catholic Heaven, they were giving Our Lord the bumps, drinking, fighting and watching Riverdance, just the way Catholic Heaven will be,, i hope !!

  • great song, their best, and yes joe strummer did cover as well with his band latino rockabilly war

  • hahahah ok i can agree with that

  • no, that's a 'i'm drunk as hell' look XD

  • i love the face that shane makes after he does the second scream at the end of the song. he looks like was in shock that he pull that off lol

  • lol

  • Haha, I was almost thinking the same. To me he's more looking like 'I can do that that every day if I want to'. :)

  • That was a response to 'kfz', but YouTube didn't understand me.

  • This is such an awesome song, and those screams he does would even shame many metal vocalists. Such a great band.

  • THAT SONG IS FUCKIN GREAT

  • SO what if he was born in london?

  • Ah sorry, missed the whole part of him bein' born in london because his parents where visiting people in London. Indeed he is a god

  • shane is the god of irish folk

  • im goin to see dem in lichfield in september cnt wait dey very rarely play in england

  • By the way. Shane was born in Kent.

  • I'm going to see the Pogues in Gothenburg later this summer.I'm so lucky :)

  • Same here. And Woven Hand :-)

  • Joe Strummer = King of Punk

Shane MacGowan = King of Folk Punk

2 legends in their own right.

  • His mum and dad are irish so he,s irish - my mum and dad are english so im english - my pet dog was born in a stable but is still a dog not a horse..pogues are brilliant!!

  • The ogs of celtic folk punk everybody else are just copycats.

  • Shane was born in Ireland and spent the first 6 years o' his life there. So he's a fullblooded irishman and nothin' else :)

  • Shane was born in London, man. On Christmas Day, too. His parents were over visiting people in London, and that's when he was born. But yeah, he did spend the first six years of his life in Ireland. And he is a god.

  • true cept he was born in kent england while his parents were visiting relatives around christmas

  • Wish I could understand the words! I'm sure they're great.

  • If I should fall from grace with god Where no doctor can relieve me If Im buried neath the sod But the angels wont receive me Let me go, boys Let me go, boys Let me go down in the mud Where the rivers all run dry This land was always ours Was the proud land of our fathers It belongs to us and them Not to any of the others
  • Thank you PaulPogues, I knew the words would be terrific! I could tell by the sound of them. I love this music!

  • no worries, i tried postin whole song but its too long! take care. x

  • awesome...simply awesome

  • that look he gives after the second scream is everything.

  • shane macgowan is a fucking god. and so is joe strummer for that matter

  • Shane is as Irish as the green hills and fuck off to those who say he ain't!

  • whos not irish?

Shane, Yes he is. Both of his parents were.

  • born in england

  • while his parents were visiting family, otherwise he would have been born in Ireland. spent the first 6 years of his life in Carney

  • It doesn't matter where you're born it matters who you are and Shane McGowan is as IRISH. And there's plenty of Irishmen and Irishwomen born in England, Scotland, America, The West Indies...hell if England had owned it there'd be Irish on the moon.

  • he's not irish!

  • I love that man...

  • how the hell do they reherse with a piss drunk irishman?

  • Cause his one of the best songwriter for ages...

  • .. but I understand, cant be easy ;)

  • it's called genius, it's very uncommon, but quintessentially irish,

  • @mrstimpy There are lots of geniuses who aren't Irish ya know ;)!

  • all his tallant went to his music & singing not his looks

  • shane is piss drunk. what a great video

  • shit hot

  • awesome
