@aalexcp Not necessarily and I'd change the advice in this video actually. Rather than arching or contracting the lower back, I'd suggest bracing the core. Think of what your belly does when you sneeze. Your abdominal muscles push out and contract. When you do this, the muscles of your lower back will also contract, thus creating a more stable torso in the bent over position.
If we need to contract the lower back that would need us tu contract the abdomen right?
