  • Matt you should film 5 hours of just straight up cruising in your vette and post it.

  • YOU DID IT WRONG BECAUSE:

you have over-polished this car, red is a weak color and you should polish it RARELY !

you can only polish the headlights to make them clearer ! You didnt do that !

go straight to the wax, and use TURTLE WAX - HARD WAX (its a paste) not this liquid wax.

again DO NOT POLISH RED CARS go straight to the wax !

And you forgot to detail the wipers !

If they are dirty they will scratch the windshield !

Also use rubber seal preserver !

    take care !

  • Please put a microphone on your guest. Thx

  • he put his tiers on his "performance car " with the impact........ good luck keeping the nice

  • HEY GUYS NOT TO POINT OUT THE OBVIOUS BUT THAT CAR IS RED!

  • thanks so much just bought a new truck my old beaters never got washed but this one will, Heres my question. You seemed to use both a polish and a wax is that correct? I thought they were the same. Do you use the polish and the wax everytime will one eventualy hurt the paint.? thanks in advance gwndfm

  • your a man of your word! there is no bad comment's. I iove your vids keep adding new ones thanks XD.

  • why do use left right motion instead of circular motion when you are waxing?

plus that grey gti in the back is extremely dirty. ;)

  • i know the constant "yeah but the interior" comments from critics, but i say, what do people that seem to base their decision about what car to buy on the interior as a main argument do know about cars in the first place !?? mint C5 btw !

  • What do you recommend for the rubber gaskets of the targa and window?

  • Can You pst a shopping list of every thing you bought and used in the video?

  • it is alot safer for the paint if you remove the tags from the microfiber

  • what would jeremy clarkson say if he watched this.. xD

  • @qwerty1274 HE would wine because he is American. and find the insey bity little tiny thing he can do to critisize it because we are Americans.

  • oh my god his using a yellow CCS pad.........there like sand paper, your gonna have some serious marks after that

  • Cool

  • Awsome video dude and your car is one to be proud of :P When you come to wash and detail it again is there any product you use to remove the old layers of polish/wax or do you just go ahead with the washing/shampoo ? thanks

  • when detailing a car ( mine is 2002 black vette) clean plastic in tire wells with shiney tire foam just spray and leave they will yurn black like new. enjoyed the video and subbed.

  • Nice video man.

  • Guys like to clean and detail their cars more than their home. Haha...

  • @2Pokerfaces Hell I even take care of my car more than myself haha

  • @baadshaah11 A little late of a response. A hand wax (good quality) should be a 1year protectant. Polishing your car ever time you wash it is not necessary. Handwashing + Handwaxing is a good alternative. The only time you need to polish is when you need to remove surface scratches and scuff marks. Overspray may be removed by clay baring. But waxing is very important to protect your clear coat. Yes I am a professional auto detailer.

  • Good demonstration..thanks for posting!

  • i like this video. its rite to the point. am starting a mobile car wash. so i need to Lerner . a lot

  • where did you guys buy your stuff? also is there a list of polishes/items you used? how many cloths do you need and how many of each?

  • alsaw try the liquid silicon for dash bord,it brings up factory look and its not greacy (if you rub it with a sponge, wery good)

  • @Vuckokawasaki If you use silicon based protectants, make sure you always keep on it. Otherwise it will dry out the dash board and crack it. If you can find a non-silicon based formula its much better!

  • @rapinNtapin will search 4 it..tnx !

  • like the two bocket system....

  • i personally use black majic titanium tire wet GEL just becuase its lasts longer

    i have a 06 bmw 325ci and i love detailing it

  • "and if you suck i'm deleting your comment".....love it :)

  • i am 13 i also detail cars im a carcissist i use a varity of waxes black magic or turtle wax i use a buffer to buff the black magic wax off because it is kinda pastey for the polish i use nu finish and it works great for the wheels i use armor all wheel protectant and i can detail a car better than most adults

  • @carwashcrazy1 Oh my Oh my Oh my Oh my Oh my

  • at 7:20 it looks like he took off a little bit of paint LOL

  • Maan, I wana see a before after pic so bad

  • I am now 16 and drive a 1998 Ford Mustang GT and I have been detailing others cars and my car for 3 years now. There are some things I agree with you and some things I don't. If I were you I would try Tech Wax 2.0, its about $20.oo a bottle, but out of every wax I have used, it would have to be the best. I do what you do almost every week, except wax. Once a month for wax. I am very proud to be as good with cars, as I am today.

  • so yo polish AND wax?

  • talk about hardcore...

  • hey there i have a suggestion, you should use your wheel spray to clean your disc brakes to remove the dust so they will shine and not look dirty hope this is a good suggestion thanks for the tips

  • nsX clone! @ 11:09

  • Can u wash my truck Matt?? I got a 2004 chevrolet colorado.. I like all of your tips you showed. i take pride in what i do to take care of my truck. God Bless You!

  • Thanks Matt!

  • that is one awesome corvette man!!! and looks and sounds awesome nice detailing

  • can i get rid of swirl marks by hand ?

  • something i fail to understand is why when you're only polishing the clear coat does the polishing wheel get red ? ... 7:18

  • you suck fat pigen

  • one problem i found in this video was when he was hand polishing. you don't want to just "apply" the polish, like you would a wax. you want to really buff it on the paint in a front/back side/side motion with a polish applicator pad with a little pressure to actually improve the finish.

  • getting liberal with it

  • Are those lights after market? because I didn't think they had the non flip up lights until 2004.

  • @FreeXboxLive0407 Yeah I believe they are aftermarket..

  • How does he have a South Carolina tag in LA?

  • "for all those corvette enthusiasts.. there's about six of those" hahaaaa

  • you polished the inside of the exhaust pipes...........the inside?..........i friggin love this guy

  • Also important if you are detailing the outside wash your car or truck with dawn dish soap to help get off that old wax

  • Hey Matt, so everyone does the outsides of thier cars, I find that the interior actually makes it much more enjoyable to drive, I smoke, and theres alot of dust in Ohio, I like to use the air compressor, with a spray nozzle, and it sprays EVERYTHING out, dust in the vents cracks I cant reach and down in between the seats, hope everyone loves it as much as I have!

  • @baadshaah11 You should be able to buy a clear coat protectant from the Auto Zone or Advanced Auto Parts, or maybe even walmart.

  • Thanks man I probably won't go as into depth on a used 98 civic but Good tut all the same

  • can all of these products be used if you have a carbon fiber body? because i know the clear coat for carbon fiber is almost 60,000 a gallon.. and id hate to mess it up..

  • How much would all the products he used cost?

  • Its nice to see the effects of the before and after polish effects. I havent polished my car yet but plan to do it soon.

  • damn so amny porshes

  • Best car detailing video on YouTube! Thanks :)

  • how do you polish headlights? u kinda left that out -_-

  • nice work matty this model corvette is expensive to buy in australia!!! nice looking car but mate! good stuff she come up nice!

  • this is just nice ,..now can you tell me , how to get a real good shine on the boiler ,of my Stanley turtle steam pump ,motor car ,THANK YOU !

  • Anyone know how much a black magic bullet costs???

  • @A1DMCD $10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

  • @baadshaah11 Only polish if still looks dirty after you wash it.

  • I have very small scratches on top of the spoiler on my car and a few little scratches from a dog jumping up on my car, do I want to use a compound, then polish, then wax? Or can I just use a polishing compound, and then wax? And also, when I do polish or whatever, do I need to go in the same direction of the scratches or the opposite direction?

  • @killamanjaro306 use compund first then polish then wax. compound fills in the sratches so you should use it

  • I washed my 2011 Lariat limited the other day. Keep in mind. I live in Arizona. So it barely rains. Any way i washed it. Looked Like the day i bought it. It was fantastic. Went the rest of the day no problems no clouds perfect hot ass day. Woke up that night in my deep sleep to a windy dusty rainy thunderstorm. went outside the next day and my truck was FILTHY i was in tears. Thought i would share that story. Check the weather before you wash your car.

  • wax the windows it does alot better

  • P21s and chemical guys are both the best professional brands, for the conventional car guy, meguiars is the way.

  • @baadshaah11 hey bro i wouldn't polish your car that much i do mine 2 times a year and you should wash your car once a week or once every other week just to keep the dirt and stuff of it. also try using chemical guys stuff they are great that is what i use for my shop.

  • i got a 98 z28 with full bolt ons and cammed...we should race.

  • He didn't explain what he used or how to clean headlights. Does any1 know?

  • Nice video! I really learned a lot. I'm gonna go to Auto Zone right now and buy the of the products you bought. I know it works because it did wonders to your Corvette. Thanks for the tips.

  • so mr. miyagi was full of shit?

  • I used the tire-shine on a car that I used to own. Sure, it got the tires all nice and black and shiny, but after a while they also developed some strange tiny cracks all over them until the front passenger tire blew up one day when I was going down the road. Just sayin'.

  • Impact wrench on the wheels? Ugh. Not good. Not a true "car guy".

  • @flexor212000 why? whats wrong with that :S

  • @shilpinator It overtightens and strips the lugs/studs. You should always hand tighten and use a torque wrench to manufacturer specs.

  • Comment removed

  • Can u put a list of the products you used."??

  • how many times has he said liberal?

  • @TheMraphro Apparently he uses the word....liberally...tch tch tch.

  • I like that Corvette very much!!! Great job washing your car in such details.

  • WTF?!! They make stick-shift Corvettes?!! No waayyy!

  • i washed my car with 1/10th of those products and got the same results. This is american consumerism!

  • a guy in town charges 80 dollars to do about 3/4 of what you just did, inside and out. smh. if anyone is a true car lover they would enjoy to do this themselves anyways.

  • Great car and great video! Can you do a video on how to clean the engine compartment? Thanks

  • The arm of the jack almost smashed your rocker

  • Will he delete my comment?

  • It'd be so funny if at the end, some dick just came up and poured mud on his car! I would be so miffed.

  • can you make a product list from what i should buy for my car and place it in the discription?

  • i wax my two times a month and i cant put the tree staff off of my car

  • Hi, I am from Chennai, T'Nagar, It was very good job, I have the same red car and have the passion of cleaning my car everyweek but not with so many stuffs of cleaning material, i use diluted shampoo on the paint and on the ss material i use the same stuff what is used to clean kitchen utensils. I learnt how to remove the tiny tar spotes using the kids clay , normally the paintners will recommend for a rubbing polish - thanks and let me try that.

  • goodness!! that vette is CLEAN!

  • i LOVE how you keep your cars so clean. Ima car and clean freak.

  • you should really torque your wheels to the stock torque in your owners manual. you could damge your rims!

  • I have a 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY Sports Edition. It is silver metallic and hard to shine. It is because silver colors not matter how hard you wax, it will never shine. Only times the silver color glows is when it becomes cloudy or raining.

  • its obviously his corvette if he explained that he had custom wheels made for it and shit

  • I'm so glad to see the owner of a nice car clean his own car. I can't stand all these guys and girls with nice cars going to the car wash. I'm like what the hell? I drive a Focus sedan and I LOVE my car so much. It might not be the fastest of all but I maintain it and drive it like if it was a Ferrari. Great and video and looking forward to more stuff like this!

  • matt is that a ghl catback on your vette?

  • HAHA, I was just like you the first time I used the Mothers Showtime detailer..... "mmmmmm, smells like cinnamon"

  • what a big bitch

  • Love bbi! The Hoff has a bbi Porsche, looks mean as hell.

  • That guys using a Yellow CCS Cutting Pad on that buffer.....they cause huge swirl marks and need to be refined!!!!!!!!! What the heck!!!! Also when you polish dont just wipe it on, it needs to have some pressure to remove defects or your wasting your time..Dont put tyre shine on your rims, it attracts brake dust, also use spray was on your rims to help repel brake dust and make them easier to clean.....ALSO use a bit of sponge and spray that then apply to your wheel or it can get on your car :)

  • can u please put a list of what products u used???? :)

  • Why have you bought that car? You've insulted the interior, engine, paint etc.

  • Let the tire spray sit on the wheel for a while it increases the shine and will stay on longer

  • and how does george from "proformance" feel about this raging boner you have for him?

  • @maxheinrich ... it hasnt occurred to you that matt is mentioning george so much because he might have gotten a discount in trade for advertising on his shows ... wtf do you care

  • @drjesus616 .....show? more like shit show. someone has to give little Matthew here the reality check that his sideburns, aviators, love for himself, and his car -- are all extremely gay. and if it hasn't occurred to you...i'm that someone.

  • @maxheinrich ... yeah hate on him all you want but it got him a paying job on a cable television network ... all your burnouts of your camaro have gotten you is what ... 5000 views and less rubber on your tires ... woopty fucking doo ...

  • @drjesus616 the name of this shit show is "the smoking tire" so dont even pull the "less rubber on your tires" card. not that this goon could smoke his if he laid bleach down on the tarmac. i mostly hate matt because of his severe lack of knowledge in this area of expertise. his false cockiness just adds to it. i'll let you guys continue to suck each others dicks, you defend him like a bitch. and good for you, you found my burnout video. sorry that i'm not all talk like the clown on this one.

  • @maxheinrich ... in case you havent realized it ... i play devils advocate to things that i even dislike, solely for the chance to fuck with other people ... ive happened to see this, while drunk, and in a hilarious mood ... so tell me, lie to me, that you wouldnt want to be a co-host on a cable automobile show with adam corolla ... so wtf if matt is narcissistic and often brown nosing, he got something from it right ? he paid his dues and i wish him luck and FYI - your car = drool fest

  • @drjesus616 thats exactly what pisses me off...that people can get somewhere in life even if theyre like matt. i do not consider adam carolla and him even remotely in the same league. adam is a genius....matt is everything i despise in a human being. i won't lie, i woud love to be in matt's spot. but i wouldn't degrade myself to act or look anything like him in order to get there

  • @maxheinrich ... naw screw that ... i would act like lady gaga if it got me the money ... youre just fooling yourself if you say that you would rather be at whatever income level your are now and keep your morals/ standards/ and taste rather than be filthy rich ... granted matt is kind of a douche, and no where near carolla but at least hes doing what he likes

  • @maxheinrich

    lmao

  • @maxheinrich Sooo what makes you better then Matt?

  • @pdavid24 i run a car detailing business. and nearly everything matt has said/demonstrated has been shit advice. meanwhile i'm not sucking my own dick in the process.

  • matte black Porsche at 4:16 is sweeet

  • makes me wanna go clean my car

  • Check that, 11 people don't have a clean car

  • Nice car, I have a fully loaded original 1984 black corvette.

Wanna show me how to detail the engine? I know the 84's engine is not the same as yours even before you tuned it. But if you happen to have an 84 "laying around' show me how to do it the right way.

Sweet video going to detail my car right now.

    Many thanks.

  • whats the difference between polish and wax?

  • Is polish for shine and wax for protection? Will washing the car after this remove the polish and wax? How often should it be done?

  • I detail cars for Rockstars Auto Re-Conditioning and I just wanted to take the time to say, Thank you for some of your tips! I took a second to scan a couple of your videos and they may have helped me to speed things up, by about 2 hours. I pull the Infinity accouts along with many others. From the engine to trunk takes me about 4 to 6 hours per car, start to finish. These steps I've watched that you have done will increase my pay ( times 3). : )

  • I was hoping to see a badass burnout after all that !

  • do you mind sending me a list of products you used including shammy`s because I work at a detail place and when I want to wash my car on my own I dont have what I need.

  • @realmike15

WRONG, Chrysler is owned primarily by Cerberus Capital Management. GM is looking to acquire Chrysler

  • @realmike15

how the hell is a corvette a chrysler??

  • way to get wax in all the panel gaps

  • I'm curious whether to clay my car while its wet or dry and also what if I waxed my car while the finish is not yet good - would it be a hassle if I clay it after a week or so? I used Meguiar's Gold Class Carnauba Paste Wax and not so sure how that product last especially under the sun 1-3 hours under the sun 5 days in a week.

  • Learned something today

  • Are those all the same things shops do when they charge like 200 bucks at their shop to detail your car?

  • He forgot to clean the engine...

  • awesome job man. I keep my car super clean too but I use meguiars and mothers products. I have a tip for people who don't really like shiny tires. Use westleys bleche-white tire cleaner. Gets all the gunk out and leaves them looking really clean.

If you use a tire dressing after this, the tires have a better shine.

  • @ColdFusion427 distilled water is chemically pure water. no minerals, no anti-pathogenic additives like chlorine (which are also minerals). you don't remove impurities by adding impurities. rainwater absorbs impurities in the atmosphere, tap water absorbs impurities from the pipes it travels in. distilled water rests in sealed containers that do not have any impurities for the water to absorb, so it has nothing absorbed into it

  • Cool job. Nice ride. Wish I could live in paradise like you!

    Cheers from Canada!

  • @ColdFusion427 the only water that doesn't have calcium or any other minerals is distilled water. all other water contains dissolved minerals that will etch themselves into your paint.

  • @ColdFusion427 the only wather that doesn't have calcium or any other minerals is distilled water. all other water contains dissolved minerals that will etch themselves into your paint.

  • I just started a detail business. My coment is this . You gave me great tips ,and I found you very professional also a great instructor. Thank so much for your help.

  • now i know more bout cleaning cars. thanks :)

  • If I went through all this, it would immediately get rain and bird shit.

  • Thanks for the info in these two videos. I'm an unemployed graphic designer and am about to start a small detailing business. I used to detail cars for a local dealer and actually really enjoyed it.

BTW, is that the Pearl Jam dude tattooed on your arm?

  • even i would do something differently that you did this is by far best "how detail your car" video.

  • Do you take off your shoes when driving so you wont get dirt on your carpet... JK... good video...

  • @ceedominguez I DO!!!! LOL :D

  • how about you stick your dick in your quad exhaust you fuckin cocky bitch

  • @cougar1car: as 99MCougar says - you are getting scratches due to a dirty clay bar, you are pressing too hard - or not using enough lubruicant.

  • Did the glass cleaning stuff work?

  • Matt: for a car dirtier than yours, I'd wash the top half first then change th two buckets for fresh water, then wash the lower half. I even keep separate a wash mit for the lower half. This helps prevent picking up grit on the lower body and scratching the rest of the car with it...

  • i love his car

  • Corvettes are for people that want to kill gt500's

  • i thought he was a mustang man.corvettes are for old people

  • dude, you are a legend for this, thanks! will be doing this all to my bimmer tomorrow!

  • Thank you for all the great tips. This will help alot with cleaning my car.

  • Looks great, thanks for the tips. Lets see if I can bring a swirl marked and water spotted 2000 323it back to life!

  • Not a american muscle car fan... But that car is gorgeous. i love the look of it, the red inner wheel looks tight. nice videos. Cheers for taking the time to make it

  • thanks for all your tip . after all this years i had been doing this simple stuff wrong. it may sound silly, but even this simple stuff required the knowlege to do it right.

  • Last time I used the same clay bar system on my car it seemed to scratch the car more than what it did for yours? I have a black car and you were able to see clearly everywhere you did it?

  • @cougar1car The clay bar shouldn't scratch at all. Your either pushing too hard or using a dirty clay bar.

  • Dear Matt,

I recommend one last modification to your vette. Paint the B-pillar black to match your titnted windows. That would look great.

  • Those rims are beautiful

  • sooo clean

  • Those of you who may be offended by him removing his catalytic converter. Keep in mind, that we could all drive cars that get 35+ MPG and recycle everything we possibly can and not slow down global warming to any measurable degree. Earth is toast, so enjoy your short stay.

  • its so weird watching this, wanting to wash my car, then I go look at it and its a big dirty 4x4. I think I gotta detail it just once

  • Great video! I will definitely be using your tips. Thanks!!

  • i tell you what remove that VW GOLF between the PORSH S !

  • @anassgame Volkwagen and Audi are together Porsche is German they all are quick it belongs there

  • Awesome vids, thanks for sharing

  • After watching this i want to wash my car!

  • wash the engine first before you detail it

  • Dude, this video is great, I'm following your techniques!

  • What did he use to clean his lights??

  • great tip on the compound application! I always applied compound on my 300ZX in a circular motion...I will definitely try North South, East West. Also the brush is a great idea on the interior, gonna do that from now on!

  • u mean to tell me that my 91 dakota has more lugs than a vette?
