as an m6 owner, i can tell u that it wont beat a 1000 till very high speeds. im talking 190-200 mph. a stock 600 or 750 can be beaten all day. by 140, a 600 is lunch meat. by 160, im walking slowly on a 750. by 175, im struggling hard to catch a 1000! the m6 is a monster up top so dont under estimate it. but anything over a 750 will hurt ur feelings

I had an 05 SV. Got the 04 Gixxer 1000 now. Its awesome. Id recomed the 08 sooner then the 09. The o8 are 378 pounds. (not 100% sure) the 09 are 440 (not 100% sure again). Do you know why they are so much heavier?

How DOES the leg room compare? I'm 5'11" myself. From what I've seen the pegs and bars on just about everything seem to be like an inch or two within range of the SV's (which is my reference point). The most compact sitting bike I've seen... Daytona 675.
Well, i went to a Yamaha and Honda Dealership. I sat on both and on the Honda, my legs fill up the whole tank. (the indents on the tank) And the R1 and Gixxer dont do that. Thats about it. My buddy is getting the new 750. He said the same thing about the CBR. But they CBR's still look better then the Yamahas i think.

Well I just traded in the SV650 and for a new 08 ZX-14 (was still in the crate). I have to say, it's insane!
I was riding the other day, going about 80mph keeping up with the rest of traffic. I wanted to pass an SUV so I pulled back on the throttle just a hair, and didn't even realize I was going 120mph.
To hell with the break-in procedure, lol. You really do need to watch your speed.
Oh and I'll either be picking up a ZX-14 or a CBR1000RR. The Busa or GSXR-1000 are my respective fall backs.
Honestly I would have liked to stay away from the Hypersports, but believe it or not the insurance on the ZX or Busa is like $200 less (100k/300k/100k full coverage, $500 ded is like $800 a year on the ZX) than for the CRB or GSXR, not to mention more comfy.

Yeay Toby, Suzuki just switched from using "dry weight" to "wet weight".
My understanding is some other manufacturer (honda I think) started doing it a couple years ago, and now it's catching on.
Everyone was always complaining about manufacturer specified weights being inaccurate, because no one uses a bike with zero fuel, oil, etc.
The Wet weight is a far more accurate measurement for real world use.
If I'm correct the new 09 GSXR is actually lighter than prior years, but ugly as hell now.

Yeah I've always loved the look of the Gixxers *hell I just like Suzuki styling), but the 09 makes me cringe, and those pipes... yuck!
Then again I'm weird, I LIKE the look of the 08/09 CBR1K, and don't care for the R1 too much (everyone else seems to be the opposite way).

Actually it is POSSIBLE for a very highly modded toyota supra, for example, to beat stock bikes on acceleration. However, the cost of such a car is a ridiculously insane vulgarity...there is, however, no street legal vehicle that can beat a highly modded Suzuki Hayabusa on top speed or accel.

top speed? are you on crack? the hayabusa does around 190. there are all kinds of cars that will do better than that. on acceleration there are a few vipers that can do it and are still street legal but thats about it. other than milliondollar cars like barabus and aero tt's

No I am not on crack. Notice how I said MODDED busa...obviously "lots" of cars can beat a stock busa, but not one that is: turbo'd, lowered, swingarm extended, etc...Such a busa(600 hp)can hit 265 mph. Look it up if you don't believe it.

Ok well I got carried away with the last comment 264 is the RECORD but you can EASILY get a turbo busa well over 200. Here is a vid of one that's probably hitting about 230(claims 250...). It IS in MPH(you can see that the small #'s on the inside are higher than the big mph numbers on the outside). Also note that the rpm's keep climbing a bit after the speedo maxes out at 220 mph, and they don't drop till a bit after he lets off :) Type this in the youtube search to see it: Hayabusa mit 250 MPH

I never said there are any cars that will give you more bang for the buck than a stock busa...only that there ARE modded road legal cars that are faster than stock hayabusas.

Before you write down do a research firt as those you know understand that you re an idiot. What car except a race car can beat a stock bike in a track. Maybe in ancient history a car could trash a bike in the corners. But this is today and bike have hitec tires and suspensions. So they can keep at least the same speed in the corners. my friend has a gsxr 1000 and my other friend got a e60 m5 with 505 hp we raced togheter i will say one thing the m5 kills the gsxr its monster because its mpowerrrr and mpower is the best car in the world. end of 2007 there will come a m6 csl with 560 hp and he is gone crush the hayabusa and the zx-r12. mpowerr rulezzz. take the mclaren the engine is mpower. by by bike fans
