I used to date a Southern Baptist preacher's kid, and I know they used to be against dancing back in the day. His mom showed up and dragged him out of a dance one time. LOL

That Psalm is a poor argument against their belief, because it didn't originate related in any way to worship. It originated with a belief that dancing would encourage lust and lustful thoughts. C'mon, you know you were lusting after Mark in this video when he busted a move! ;-)

there is nothing in the bible about not dancin! that's the whole problem with religion today, most of the denominations just seem to pull these "regulations" out of thin air. what is in the bible is our call to ministry and to enjoy the life God created for us which is what mark's all about. the important thing is he loves Jesus and proclaims it whole heartedly!

are you first baptist or southern baptist? because I know southern baptist often believes that dancing is a sin but i am not sure about first baptist. they only thing I know about first baptist is they believe "once saved always saved"

@hoover4000 I'm Southern Baptist. Thought I'd clear some stuff up. First Baptist just means it's the first baptist church in a town. I go to First Baptist Church in my town, but we're Southern Baptist. Southern Baptists don't believe dancing is a sin AT ALL. We're just a little more conservative so we usually don't dance lol. We like poking fun at ourselves about it, but there's nothing wrong with it :)

Depends on which Baptist you ask. Like, we've had interpretive dancing at my church, which is Southern Baptist. Not that it's a thing that happens often, but...it's not like it used to be. I don't think it's written in the Baptist Faith and Message anymore, just specific churches have statements on it.

you need to make it one of your priorities luvbug!! I saw my first Mark Lowry show this last sunday and it was everything I hoped it would be and more. When he first walked out on the stage I almost wanted to faint. He is naturally funny and he's just as he appears to be. Afterwards he sat down and signed every autograph, took pictures with everyone, and actually talked with people. I didnt think he would for some reason. But he stayed until everyone got a chance to talk to him. Amazing man
