This video really only show cased Berkeley-Bay Area culture as far as body art. We interview class mates, people on the street, friends, the homeless, etc. This documentary could have been way better, but time was a big constraint.

The only reason the needle is hollow is to either bunt the same gauge jewelery next to it, or if your not that good slid the end of the small gauge jewelery in so you get a proper follow through. a hallow needle doesn't typically remove skin at a 10g. cartiledge and the septum are almost exceptions. A demal plug would actually 100% remove all encompassing tissue. With a hallow needle (tri-bevel even) it is designed to simple cut the skin easier than a blunt object. I had my septum done with a hallow needle and saw some skin, but not as much as a dermal punh (biopsy plug). interesting vid though
Everyone is different and experiences pain differently. My friend and I got our nipples pierced together her experience and pain were not the same as mine. The healing process was different for both of us. I also have a few tattoos. Each one was a different experience and the pain was different for each one as they are all on different body parts.

I used a big safety pin, and I couldn't find a hammer to bang it through with - so I grabbed a big knife, held it by the blade, and used the handle to bang it on through :P Whenever I wanted to put jewelry in, I would have to screw it in. theydo not numb you. They steralize the area and the needle, wear gloves..use a clamp to pinch the skin they are peircing, and put the needle through. It baley hurts, but you might bleed alot. Everyone is different and experiences pain differently. My friend and I got our nipples pierced together her experience and pain were not the same as mine. The healing process was different for both of us. I also have a few tattoos. Each one was a different experience and the pain was different for each one as they are all on different body parts.

I have a couple and they depend on location. None of mine really hurt, more uncomfortable than pain. It's definately an addiction, I always want more work done. Also if the title of this video has anything to do with the Thursday lyric, interesting enough that one of my tattoo's is the dove they use.

Haha...one time in college i pierced my own labret. I used a big safety pin, and I couldn't find a hammer to bang it through with - so I grabbed a big knife, held it by the blade, and used the handle to bang it on through :P Whenever I wanted to put jewelry in, I would have to screw it in. It was fun!
The best part is the next day, while adjusting it, I dropped the needle into a gutter in downtown madison. Just shoved it right back in, who cares what happens?

I'm all for tattoos and piercings, but all of the people who talked in the video are fucking stupid. The dumbest people I've ever seen. Doing stupid shit under the influence. You can't decide to get a tattoo/piercing while you're drunk; especially if you're not supposed to be drinking. The first girl was underaged when she got pierced...and she pierced her guy too; did she say she was fucking engaged? Fucking stupid shit. i agree 100 percent. people think that since they got peirced at 13, or whatever, they are soo cool when in fact getting anything done that young means regret in the future. i waited till i was 21 to get any tattoos and am soo glad that i did.

I did my lipring myself with a safty pin, it healed like a regular pierce would.
Yes, hollow needles are a VERY good idea, but it will NOT always heal out and usually it'll heal just fine unless you pierced the wrong place.

not really, yet it depends on the person and the way they pierce you. LIke they used numbing neddles on me(i went to a dermatologist office) or if you go a tattoo place they use clamps.

yes. not really like at first when the needle goes in your stomach you feel like a little pinch. I got it done when I was 13 and now I'm 15. I didn't flinch or cry or anything like that. Personally I thought it was fun. Also sorry i wrote alot! :)

theydo not numb you. They steralize the area and the needle, wear gloves..use a clamp to pinch the skin they are peircing, and put the needle through. It baley hurts, but you might bleed alot. I got my belly button peirced then I got a tattoo! I say get it, but make sur eyou get it proffesionaly done, please. Sorry about the typos, and good luck.

i just got my lip pierced and one of the balls fell out so when mum got home she gave me new balls so they are on now but i didn't take the bar out or anything so like will it get infected or anything? (i'm 15 and have snake bites and i clean like crazy)
