Yeah - life has become more and more complicated - and we're the ones doing the complicating! Need to get back to the basics of just living for today - that's what we would have been doing in the Middle Ages - because today might have been all we would have had!
There's a small and excellent online depression support group called Depression Hangout that is always open to anyone who is struggling with mental health problems (not just depression). It's run in its own chaotic way by its members who meet regularly in the chat room and it's a great place to seek and provide help and support, make new friends and even just have a laugh. (We all need that too!) To join just go to depressionhangout-dot-blogspot-dot-com.
If you're struggling with stress or depression and finding meditation 'weird' I would suggest that you find someone close by who can give you some personal guidance - meditation doesn't suit everybody and you have to know what you're doing, why you're doing it and what the benefits should be. Hope that helps
thank you. I actually know something about meditation and i've tried it. At first ir was a very weird felling. I didnt know if i wanted to laugh or cry. But now i have a very serious problem and i dont know what to do... It's eating me inside :(
All the problems associated with stress - from mad itches to eczema - from a pain in the ass to a pain in the chest (real heart attack) all have their origins in our mind's obsession with negative thought - you'll never get rid of the useless thought, but you can decide to ignore it by paying attention to what's really happening now - not what you think is happening
I'm only a child and I feel stressed all the time, i get eye twitching and tend to shake quite a lot, my teacher always asks me if I'm alright. I feel I'm just so different and isolated from others and I have definitely got stress but I really don't know what to do! This is a problem of me but how do I help myself properly... Even my parents tell me to calm down all the time. Would it just be my stage of mood swings or is it just me...?
You're not different - lots of kids suffer from stress! I'm going to produce another video with more specific ideas on how to "calm down" - and post it on YouTube tomorrow
In fact, if there is anything about you or your life that you want to change or improve, if you change your state of mind first, everything else will follow - and meditation (and there are all kinds of ways of doing it - even five minues slotted here or there into a busy day) is one of the most powerful ways of developing a clear, present and focused state of mind
I can't agree with you more. You are so right about change of focus and meditation. I was in heart failure after having 3 heart attacks. The doctors had given me maximum 5 years. It is now more then 10 years. I did exactly as you have mentioned in your video. I changed my focus and started meditation and it helped. You are doing a great service by uploading this video. God Bless you.
This video has changed my life!!! Ive been suicidal of late and have been in bed today searching the web for ways to remedy my depression. Well finally the penny has dropped with this vid, its all in your own head. Ive been meditating since watching this vid and I feel notably better, which proves that what this Northern Irishman is speaking about is pure genius, and it also proves the human mind is completely loony tunes. THANKYOU YOU MAY HAVE SAVED MY LIFE!!!
I love you're name - it sums up everything we need to know about getting the most - or even anything out of life - today's the day - now's the time - and there's no time like the present. Keep up the meditation - sure, there'll be days when it won't tune you in as much as other days - but meditation gets you in touch with the real you - and the life you can really have

I recommend Plato's "the republic" (audio book perhaps) it leads the mind elsewhere, it keeps mine busy anyway.

You are right. It is the state of Mind and meditation that helps. Thanks
