smoked halos and smoked led tails would look great on this car. Also you can paint the wheels black with gloss paint, with sanding and priming done first ofcourse. Then adding clear. Saw a dude here to it to his wrangler, probly cheap.

nice thats clean! i have a '96 maxima that ive tricked out, with all the bells and whistles haha! its pretty sweet, i got 207000 miles and its still goin like a champ. i just got its dents and ding fixed and repainted. it looks sexy now! anyways, nice car, never get rid of it! lol

I just bought one for $3250 for my nephew, it's a surprise for his birthday coming up in January. It's hidden at my friends house, he just needs to get his license which he's currently studying on. The Maxima has 110,000mi I bought it from an older couple (they normally take care of their cars) and it's in excellent shape, I drive it discreetly so he wouldn't see me. I have a 2010 Maxima and I have always loved these cars!

These are great cars. I bought my '97 Maxima GLE in 1999 off a two year lease with 35k on the meter. It just turned 197k and runs like new. Mine is this same color dark brown--they call it rosewood--with black leather interior. Only disappointment was that the Bose system crapped out at 70,000 miles. Had to replace with SONY after market system. Car has been mostly trouble free. Still runs like a greyhound with his tail on fire and still one of the best looking cars on the road today.

My grandfather had a 1996 black and he loved the car, except he went through about 5 batteries. He traded it in for a 2000 silver Maxima. After that, he got a 2005 Maxima, and now he drives a 2010 Maxima. I drive a 2008 Nissan Altima and absolutely love it!

Great review, my 95 Maxima has 252,000 miles on it and drives like a bat out of hell with that 3.0L V6. I'm getting 28 mpg and loving every bit of it. Power + fuel efficiency VQ engine FTW!

That clicking noise is perfectly normal for a VQ30 engine. You can reduce it however with Mobil 1 full synthetic and/or Lucas Oils or Lucas Oil Treatment. VQ series engines are probably one of the smoothest V6 engines around. Trust me I got a 2000 Max.

Valvetrain, totally normal. A multi-cam, multi-valve engine will never be as quiet as an OHV engine, or even an OHC engine.

I also noticed while you were driving, the temperature gauge suddenly dropped down to zero and then slowly went back up to normal. My '97 VW Passat's fuel gauge does that once in a while.
