  • I love your work, where do you get your products for quilling?

  • wow, that's awesome!!

  • @Cyoul8teralligator Thanks! :)

  • @yoyomax12 so cool luv it - katelyn

  • @ksimechak1 Thanks! :)

  • instead of the quilling tool can you use a toothpick?

  • @daniqua11 If you can manage to split the end of the toothpick in two, you may be able to. The split at the end of the quilling tool allows it to be held in place while it is twirled.

  • @daniqua11

i use a big needle then put the paper through the hole then curl it

  • i think i found a new hobby besides reading books bigger and faster than i should be

  • can you do this without the quilling tool?

  • @lindseyd9 You need to curl the paper into little rolls and this is easier with a quilling tool. Maybe curl the paper around something skinny and straight? Like a skewer?

  • 1 person doesnt like this there so pretty though

  • @itsjustme012345678 I always forget to shut the ratings off.

  • Thank you so much for this delightful video. I just learned about quilling today from a fellow homeschooling Mom who taught our group of children. Now my 12 year old and I are hooked! And I adore snowflakes! Could you please tell me how to get the pattern you used? Your work is beautiful!

  • @blondbrownies I bought a kit with several snowflake patterns in it from quillingsuperstore with a dot and a com. If you send me your email address using the "contact me" section on my website (see channel page for link) I will send you a copy :)

  • I only found out about quilling a couple of years ago. I LOVE papercrafts and this one appealed to me a lot.

Glad you enjoyed them and I do appreciate your comments.

  • Great video,, you did a excellent job on teaching this!Thank you

  • thanks much!

  • thanks very much for the tutorial! can't wait to try

  • Once you get the hang of it you can make them relatively quickly. That reminds me, I need to get started on this year's snowflakes!

  • Ok so this is a great idea, I already make my own bows for my Christmas presents. I am going to have to try this out. It was great meeting you

    -The Enterprise guy -Brandon

  • So happy you watched! I subbed to you in case you decided that you wanted to show one of your home made bows on YT. hint hint

  • I must say...I went to look at the snowflake as a finished product on the Christmas card...IT WAS GORGEOUS!!!!! How long would you say it takes a "normal" person to make one of those? I just found out about this craft and am waiting for my tools to arrive from ebay hehe. Congrats! Ur GR8 and your son is adorable...God bless you both :)

  • Once you get the hang of assembling theml, it takes about an hour start to finish to do the snowflakes. It isn't difficult, just repetitive. Thanks!!

  • This is amazing! I am definitely going to give this a try! Thanks so much for sharing!

    Lori :)

  • Dear Lori!!!

    I missed this comment somehow.

    Thanks. :)

  • I believe I have found my next craft to learn. The snowflakes are beautiful, thanks for showing us how it's done.

  • Quilling is a lot of fun to do and is relatively inexpensive and easy to learn.

    Thanks!

  • Thank you Rachel.

  • SO BEAUTIFUL

  • That is so beautiful. I'm pretty sure I don't have the patience for this. Great joke Max! Thanks, Grams

  • If only the days had more hours! I would love to devote more time to this.

    Thanks Angela

  • OMG - very time consuming and fussy! I'd lose my mind, i don't have the patience! I'm so glad you do though, this is a wonderful project and so so so beautiful Tammy!

    Wow - you're a talented lady!

happy new year to the yoyomax family!!

  • Dear Mike,

Thanks for your kind comment and Happy New Year to you and yours.

  • pretty

    really great video

  • Thanks so much!

  • Your craftylicious self really does amaze me. You are very creative and its fun to watch. Maybe someday a very long time from now I'll be as good as you and Beth and some other around here. Til then I'll just live vicariously thru you. :)

  • OMG!! Craftylicious!! I love that word.

I may get t-shirts made. lol.

    Thanks :)

  • Wow, what a lot of time and patience can do! You are amazing! You do beautiful work!

    Loved the jotd Max! LOL

  • Time and patience is really all you need for quilling. I follow a pattern so there isn't a lot of creativity required.

  • Tammy! I watched this video earlier and thought I made a comment but I guess I didn't. I was practicing quilling last night. You make it look so easy. I've tried to make a lot of shapes and what my problem is- consistency in each piece looking the same. And I think I also wind the paper too tight. Girl you make it look easy! Loved the video! Hugs!

  • Consistency comes with practice and so does knowing how tight to wind the paper!

I made over a dozen of these snowflakes so I had the chance to practice all the shapes many, many times, lol!

  • Grams,

I only wish I had more time to do this kind of craft, just not enough hours in the day sometime!

    Take care! ((hugs))

  • You are amazing and patient with those little strips of paper! I have my snowflake right here and I just love it!

  • Very happy you enjoyed yours Barb.

    Take care,

  • Thank you Mike, and Happy New Year to you and yours.

  • thats just beautiful

ouch, those little blisters are the worst!

    happy new year!

    xoexo

  • The blister had pretty much healed so it didn't hurt anymore, I just thought I had to explain the brown spot on my finger, lol.

  • Thank very much!

  • tammy, that is an awesome craft & you certainly made it look easy. the finished product is beautiful! thanks for sharing.

i got a good chuckle out of your joke Max ;)

  • Thanks very much Gail!

  • Okay I must subscribe to anyone who calls me "craftlicious" Love it! lol.

  • What an interesting video! After seeing how much work there is in making one, I will cherish my snowflake forever

    Je t'aime plus Maxim!

  • I thought you only checked for my videos in the morning.

I was going to call you at midnight last night to wish you Happy New Year but I knew you'd be in bed. lol.

    Love you!!

  • Great Joke! I laughed. Thank you for showing this. I will show my kids. It is going to be great fun.

  • If you use large pieces of paper, kids could do this easily.

  • Love the joke Max

  • You make it look so easy. It is very pretty. Did you ever get my addy? i sent it to you before Christmas an asked for yours but never heard back :(

thank you for showing us how to do this.

  • I did sent it to you, I remember writing the letter! Maybe I forgot to hit send :(

I would never ignore my dear Irene.

I mentioned that I didn't have time to make a snowflake for you this year and promised you a whole pile of them for your tree next year.

I will send you my addy again!

  • You are sooo wonderful. I think YT messed up:O

Sometimes PM's & comments to not go out like they should. Thank you for re-PMing :)

  • Very nice Tammy! Thanks for making this video to show everyone how to do this. You are so talented when it comes to making things like this and they are so pretty! We appreciate your talents and love seeing your workings. Happy New Years HUGS xoxoxo

  • Thanks Peggy! I appreciate your kind comments. :)

Happy New Year to you! ((hug)) everyone there for me!

  • I appreciated the beauty of the snowflake you sent me before. I knew it was incredibly time consuming. But this just confirms it. Goodness. Thanks again for my beautiful snowflake ornament :)

mwehehe couldn't control her pupils :)

  • I will have to remember to take photos of the things I make before I send them off! I wanted to show how the snowflakes could be used in a card and luckily I you (and Charlene) showing them off!!

  • Oh Tammy... This is beautiful. It's SO simple follow your instructions. (Are you doing your wash while doing your voice over? or is it the fish tank?) Okay. This has to be like a series. I saw quilling stuff the other day at the store. I ALMOST bought them. But then I thought who am I kidding? They didn't have the cool glue bottle you had though.

  • Beth, your hearing is amazing. Yes those are the aquariums in the living room. I tried to hear what you were hearing but I was listening in the room with the aquariums running, lol.

I thought of the title with a playlist in mind for quilling projects (past and future).

  • Tammy those are so pretty, thanks for sharing how there made. Lets see I have over 11 months to practice so I can make cards or ornaments for next Christmas :0)

  • I can email you some snowflake patterns if you PM me your email address.

I have found a ton of patterns and ideas in books at the library.

  • Wow! Now I can see that the bits at the end add a great deal of strength. Very cool indeed. Your skill and expertise shows in your confidence and consistency. Really nicely done. Thank you. And Happy New Year to you, Max and the Man on the Sax! :)

  • The paper and glue give the shapes a surprising toughness. They aren't as flimsy as they look.

I made over a dozen of these, so I had the practice that's for sure!

Happy New Year to you too Liz!

  • I am so glad you made a video about how you made these. I had never heard of quilling before I got that lovely snowflake from you:)

  • I stumbled upon quilling in a crafts magazine just a few months ago. Glad you enjoyed the video Stacey, they were as much fun to give away as to make.

  • When you make the V's I see you take the quilling tool and slide it up to start the coil, does the tool grab the paper? it looks like it slides up smoothly. Just confused on that part! Love the snow flake! I am so going to try this!

  • The quilling tool has a slot in the tip. So I insert the paper into the slot at the bottom of the paper and slide it up to the top, then twist the tool and the end of the paper stays in the slot and the paper curls around it. You slide the completed shape off of the tool afterwards.

I can email you a snowflake pattern (a flagrant copyright violation, lol) if you'd like, PM your email addy.

  • Wow I love this! I am looking for a new hobby and I think quilling is going to be it. Thanks! I am favoring this video :)

  • It takes a little to master the basic shapes, but the things you can do are endless. There are some really good videos here on YT.

  • Ok, I don't know what you do for your day job but I'm sure now it has something to do with brain surgery. Holly cow that stuff is tiny. It looks like fun though and the results are beautiful.

The teachers class were constantly getting tickets for jaywalking. Her pupils always crossed in the middle.

  • Thank-you so much Dave.

I love to make it and give it away. :)

(my job has more to do with jaywalking tickets than brain surgery)

  • Very cool, I seen the kits at the local hobby store. It looked like something I might be able to do. lol

Thanks for showing us ... makes it look do-able

  • It is Do-able! Just take a little practice and patience.

    Thanks!

  • it looks fairly easy to learn to do, with alot of attention to detail.

it is beautiful tammy, i love it.

  • It is an easy craft to learn and the things you can make are endless.

    Thanks!

  • I got one of those!! I am looking at it on my tree right now!!!! I seriously think your were born with infinite patience. Ouch, I hate blood blisters. Very cool to see how you put this altogether. I definately won't take it for granted, you put a lot of work into it. You are awesome! LOL! Good one Max. take care - jenn

  • I didn't want to put this video up until everyone received theirs, I thought it would take the "mystique" away from them.

Once you see the video you realize that they are easy to do.

    Thanks Jenn.

  • It looks so easy!

I'd be all fingers and thumbs

    x hugs x

  • You need fingers and thumbs, so it's okay! lol.

    Thank Twish.
