  • Is he able to play the same slower? Than he is good

  • you think he is good check out 12 year old brandon center snare and watch him play with the blue devils lol incredible

  • He's got a bright drum future ahead of him, if he keeps going on this path.

  • AMAZING!!!!just one quick question why do u use kevlar heads they sound great

  • WOW

  • lol keep worshiping this kid i love it u guys are the immature drummers sorry

  • @bluethosedevils no we just know good hands when we see them, and it's especially impressive when those hands are barely big enough to hold marching sticks.

  • At one point I thought the video was sped up because of how fast he was going

  • @werth90 thats a good thing....

  • man this kid is very talented...makes me wont to get on my shyt.....theres ay another level for me.....

  • 5 years from now he's gonna get so laiiiiiiiid

  • haha, I see a bright future for this kid. Jesus, he is good for is age...or for any age for that matter.

  • use your talent for Father God ,bro. your awesome.

  • @medibry12 Agreed my firend.

  • Not for god! Just play music because its fun!

  • Dude! I would kill for that talent of his.

Keep up the good work man... Shoot. : D

  • Damn this kid is crazy

  • how does he do that roll at the end i've seen a bunch of people do it but no one has ever explained it to me

  • That roll at the end is known as the Casey Claw. Look it up on youtube, there's a lot of tutorials.

  • dang it look lyk he in fast forwrd

  • wtf

  • jay your amazing

  • jay should do tutorials cause hes amazeing

  • Oldchops, your son seems like a remarkable kid with a remarkable gift. Are there any videos of the game's solo at the game?

  • hey check my videos out and give them some advice

    thanks

  • this young man is phenomenal!! I'm only seventeen but when i have a son i want him to be just like jay!! Keep up the good work!!

  • Smoking. In a year, you will need an extinguisher.

Oh, and it's time for a carrier. Upon which you will loose some speed and then gain it back again. Hope you grow to around 6' so you do not have to wear it up too high. Changes the style, so to speak. HAVE FUN! Always...

PS The glasses are VERY important. Remember that...`8)

  • good advise but at Jay's young age. him wearing that heavy snare can cause damage to his back ... maybe if he had a really small dynasty. you can get good dynasty's about the size of a concert snare and those might be better for his back and shoulders for now

  • I know its not but it looks soo sped up! This kids amazing

  • he has quite a bit of talent for his age...keep up the good work. remember, practice makes perfect.

  • oh my goodness. that rocked

  • And, why would they fake that? seriously?

  • hes fucking 11 stfu

  • Ha, I bet that he can use correct grammar better than you.

  • why the hell is he wearing those shades.

  • awesome video, great use of rudiments...by the way...30004513000696...do you play the snare drum? or at least play the kit. what you saw in the video is %100 real...Hate to break this to you, but that is how fast our hands and sticks look while we tap away...

  • why is it so hard 2 believe that he did something great!?!

he said he played at a grizzlies game, not walk on water or part the sea, its not impossible

  • drum mayor?

wish the mayor of my city could drum...

    -sarcasm

  • your just telling yourself that cause you dont want to beleive you go slower than a kid.

  • The kid played this at an NBA basketball game. In front of a lot of people.

If it was a lie, you would know from one of those MANY people who would have seen him play this solo. I don't think you can fast forward/fake something like that in front of thousands of people.

  • im sorry dude. i dont know you nor do i care, but you have got to be the biggest idiot i have ever, ever, ever, ever seen comment on a drum video.

  • who is a idoit

  • Holy crap!!!!

  • damn dude!!

  • NateMaster, It's something called natural talent, not percussive slavery. It's Something that you are probably jealous of because you don't posess it.

  • sort of like you and tact

  • tru but more likely then none its bcuz he busts his ass because he loves what he does, plus his dad is good 2

  • omfg....... it looks like he's in fastforward the whole time..........

  • WOAH

  • Future center snare for any A corps he wishes.

  • tell your son to keep up the great drumming

  • damn. how long has he been playing? ive been playing 4 5 yrs n im NOWHERE near that n i got snare freshman year.

  • lol ur lame bro

  • NateMaster- Does no more than 2 hours of total percussion practice on weekends only during the school year qualify as "percussion slavery"? And he probably practices for about 1 hour on sax too. So, at the most, 3 hours of music practice per week. But to address your comment, Jay has many friends. He spends much more time playing with his friends (outdoor activities) and his video/computer games (mainly XBOX 360 Live), than he does practicing music. I understand your question and thanks!

  • prob not

  • it is unfortunate at times, how hard these kids get pushed...although the kidz got skills

  • yeah, he's gonna be center snare his freshman year.

  • wow....

  • this kid deserves a cold glass of kool aid.

  • dude i have had four seasons on the snare and im half the drummer he is

  • I don't really like the way that drum sounds, but that's all personal taste. Other than that it was plain amazing.

  • jesus christ

  • Dude, this is like, top of the line snare drumming..... Very impressive. I envy him.

  • You.

    Are.

    God.

I wish I had chops like you.

I wish I could read music (Im assuming you can read music) like you. Because you can compose this stuff... Wow. I love this kids drumming. :D

  • its 26 seconds ok, that ruined my life u lied to me :'(

  • Lol this kid can do the claw at age 11

  • dang man ur amazing keep it up!

  • holy shit....

  • how old is this guy

  • please tell me that I didn't see a cavie claw in there...

  • jay can outchop most, just make sure he develops good, powerful technique as he grows stronger and older.

  • remo black max. All I can say haha

  • dude keep it up im on drumline at my school i cant come close to that your insane man keep it up and you will definately have a scholarship to wherever you wanna go haha

  • Wow, I'm trying to learn snare for drum line (currently play sax) this guy is a huge inspiration.

  • for free!

  • ur definitly goin to college dude

  • dude fucking nice =]

  • Great hands, great musicality...the only thing to work on now is sticks out and in!

  • dang kid.

  • At :07 is he push pulling his right hand, or just crazy fast?

  • No, he is not using the push pull technique.

  • *claps

  • DANG THIS KID IS FREAKIN AMAZING!!!!

  • i love this kid! I'm nowhere near your talent man!

  • yo when he hits 16, 17 years old, more muscle, better technique, he'll pretty much dominate, as for now he only dominates most, i envy the drumline he'll one day play for

  • this is a reply to dragonswat

  • ahahahahaha

  • no where close? pshhh this kid can beat travis barker playing with his nose

  • your just a silly goose

  • LO FUCKING L

  • LMFAO!!!

  • a gift from god.

  • i secretly agree...

  • hes better than travis barker lol

  • That's a very poor standard.

  • yea i was kidding he is relly good for his age

  • oh i was gonna say WOW lol. yeah this kid makes me wanna stop drumming. he's way better than i am. not saying that im amazing, but he's just ridiculously good.

  • lol im 11 and i can do Everything he can do EXCEPT for the parts from :0-:25 lol im good huh? lol

  • you kid are amazing!!!!!!

  • lol u think this is fake, if theres a window by u take a jump plz ty good bye

  • Man he is great for his age though !!!

  • HOLY it looked like he was video taped and then they just pushed fast ford

  • really nice!

  • Man hes awsome!!!

  • if all the 12,000 people were real drummers and he was older he would have gotten boooooooooooooed

  • I am more than sure that if all 12,000 people were "real drummers" and not a general NBA game audience, he would have played something appropriate for that particular audience and venue. This solo was part of a 2-minute or so drum performance skit that the Grizzline did that featured Jay acting like he could not play for a while and than eventually playing this solo. There were time constraints (a time limit to everything), so he was limited in what he could play or do.

  • i honestly dont think he's that great he's a great player in general but his technique is horrible and the drum is to high if he doesnt make his technique better it will hurt him in the long run

  • Hey, if he was 21, it would be different. But how old is this kid?! His technique is taking a hit because his hands aren't big enough to get a proper grip. He threw in some flam-flam cheeses and triple-stroke backstickings, what more do you want? Let him hit puberty, and then you can try to criticize him out of his prodigy status. This kid is good, no one can deny that.

  • really slow stick trick with the left hand at 0:06 but that easy to fix

  • dude your INSANE

what size drum is that it looks huge?

  • looks like a 14 inch. Our school marched that same drum last year.

  • Holy shit.

  • oh fuck. that is great stuff

  • umm no offense.. but either this kid is REALLY REALLY FAST.. or something.. just the video looked fake at around 16 seconds when his hands were moving like crazy :s

  • he's fast. the guy puttin all the videos on here is his father. his father wouldn't have sped it up, he's just a very talented kid.

  • He's gotten better from past videos. Keep drumming!

  • This kid ceases to amaze me! Keep drumming little man!

  • i believe the term is "never ceases to amaze me" but good try.

  • lol

  • he got even better wow

  • WARP SPEED MAYBE? lol

  • He's good..watch his other videos!

  • I'm at shock!

    good GOD he's good!

    :D

    keep it up!

  • okay? The kid has ALOT of talent. Watch his other videos.

  • he is okay.

for one i bet your not a muso. for two your favorite video is a sponge bob square pants thing. and for three your 30 and he is twelve and i bet he would wipe the floor with you. a little respect to someone who is better than you. you shouldn't be jealous that he is better than you, you should be supportive of such a young talented percussionist.

  • That was INSANE. Fast as Hell too. : )

  • u got some talent

  • It's so fun to watch this guy get better over time. Accent tap control has improved. Keep at it!

  • I bet you drive your neighbors crazy.

  • whats up with this guy?? I have never seen a kid at good at this as him. Its incredible. when did he start and whos idea was it?

  • Man, I love those double backsticked hertas. Those are really fun.

It's good to see that you're getting out there now. Corps will definitely start trying to recruit you that way within a couple years.

  • what was the backsticking at the end for it looked akward

  • Nice Solo!

  • Awesome =]

  • DUDE jay..ur a beast...i have been a long time subscriber and ur videos are amazing..i cant wait till u master up the kit!

  • O.O

  • ....keeeeeeper! lol

  • i agree with Imsocool1004... most drumlines will piss their pants to get you!

  • OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, loved that CASEY CLAW at the end. SICK

  • kietey14 it wasnt a claw. it was backsticking hertas. Lokk them up, youll see the difference.

  • Awesome. Thats so cool. Congrats!

  • hey jay. congrats on getting to play in front off all those people. awesome solo. your amazing. and will make any drumline very happy.
