Something I've meant to ask before with some of your other vids, at the higher altitudes (particularly in winter), does the extreme cold cause any problems with onboard equipment, do you have to insulate it in any way?

@greeby62 Some people who fly in extreme cold will wrap their batteries in glove warmers to keep them from freezing. But if the motor is pulling enough power fast enough & they are insulated, the batteries will keep themselves warm. Usually it is only high altitude FPV glider pilots that will use glove warmers in extreme cold, because they don't use the motor enough to keep the batteries warm. But for the batteries to cause a problem the temperatures would have to be very, very low.

@greeby62 Well most of it would depend on humidity levels. Like moving into a cloud (warmer air full of moisture) then moving out of the cloud back down to colder drier air. That could cause trouble. Never had a problem with receivers on my RC trucks in the winter time, but then again they are only a few hundred feet away. I know Trappy and many others FPV in freezing temps & various weather conditions with little or no issues. But I am sure there are people that have had issues I'm unaware of.

@greeby62 Extreme heat does more harm than cold does. Just remember that cold slows down electricity flow similar to how heat does. There has to be a balance...

For me it seems though that trappy's wandering off in a new direction in search of a new audience and I find myself having less and less in common with whoever the intended audience is. I certainly don't need to see mirror imaging and pretending that things are getting blown up.

@WalneySkyland we're just trying new stuff, and we have a video editor now that also wants to get creative and has our full support to do so. I'd like to think that for every scene you don't need to see (stuff blowing up, mirror imaging) there are some that make or break a video ... like the waterfall shot in this one, the outboard footage in the last ones, etc. they all come from aufmschlau.ch, and without them our videos would not be as good.

The problem is money, as it almost always is ^^

And if I want to build my own, not only will it cost me, but I'll have to learn a lot about all the components I'll need !

And I don't even know if to start with a plane of a helicopter, because with the plane you can have fun flying around, but with the heli the image would me much more stable and it would be perfect for ground view.
