used to shrimp out of Ft. Myers and Key West and all we listened to was JB. Love the man and his music. Makes me want to go back more years than I care to admit. My husband is a metal head and I am a parrott head and he doesn't get it. Too bad cause he is the one missing out/
Thanks for posting. Been listening to JB for my whole life as well (42 years) and this is my favorite song. The time it came out and my life blended for one of the most memorable times. When I hear this, I can still smell the smells and feel the emotions. THAT'S what good music should do.
I live in Tennesse- and i was thirty years old before i ever saw the ocean..... in Stuart Florida. We vacation there and hang out in Jupiter and Juno. I am a late blooming- self proclaimed parrothead. I love Jimmy and all his music. This is the first time I've heard this one.. No such thing as a bad Buffett tune!! y'all turn one up for me- and I'll see you on the coast of carolina
Ah. Florida, my birthplace, my residence, my paradise. There's no place perfect in the world, but in my own opinion, La Florida, is close. If anyone comes here, they should check out the Keys. :D
Born and raised in Miami, lived most of my life in Florida. Living in the chilly and dreary climate of mountainous North Carolina now - really miss the warm amd beautiful weather. Favorite Florida spot - oceanfront deck at The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Melbourne Beach. Cold beer, chillin', ultraviolet rays, Floridays
@CBReptiles1 i know right, im stuck here in the dirty south, scuzzy nashville...oh how i miss that salt air and sand btwn the toes!! lets all go back...
I used to live a little north of Clearwater in a place called Homosassa. I took the water and the fishing for granted, and now I'm landlocked and miserable.
lived in the keys since 2003....and I love every minute of it ....fishing ,boating chasing naked horney girls and doing the duval crawl...man for an average working fella it just dosen't get any better than that...I will never leave.... this is home
Always a special treat for us old bluewater greybeards here in Palm Tree land most of our lives, right along A1A....everytime I crank this one up, I stop takin all this majic for granted....God was in a real good mood when he made this place....you too Jimmy boy !
Ahh this song is one of my favorites. Especially since I moved to Florida last August for college. I think we all just need to live on the corner of walk and don't walk somewhere down US-1. (Or down that avenue that's known as A1A)
When I first played this song on my LP (the last Buffett album I bought on vinyl), I thought is was one of the best he wrote in recent years. The mournful harmonica intro told me this was going to be deep.
Warm greetings from south of somewhere - I love Floriday and remember memorizing this disc 20+ years ago as I drove around the state in a lost youthful daze. The key is it is not where you live, but this is all a beautiful state of mind. That's what Buffett is to me - especially in the older simple days before Shark t-shirts in every store. Smile....stay young & keep dreaming - wherever you are.

I've been listening to this man's salty stories since before i was born. im 14 now, a parakeet groing into a parrothead, and i still listen to his amazing words. just a normal florida girl. :)
well, if you ever come to florida, come to the peninsula like, near tampa and clearwater because its supposed to be the best part of florida its amazing to me :)
@MissyGangstaa i grew up there and left in 1989 when i was 16. now im doing everything i can to get back there :) what a beautiful part of this country
@MissyGangstaa Hey sweet girl, I'm just a Florida Grandma, but we are luckier than most.. we Floridians are far from normal..we get to wake up every morning in paradise, smell the salt air, hear the surf rolling in.. No.. we are not normal, thank God 1
@MissyGangstaa , what before you were born.. Well what ever, but you are 16 now, I am 47, I am a true listener, for real, not just a whatever. out there
Thinking of heading down to Florida in the spring to visit my aunt and uncle....hope I don't forget the way back to Pennsylvania....
