  • I have a question... I've seen MSI Gaming Laptops in ebay, they are around my budget... But the question is, do they have good performance? are they really worth my money? I do alot of gaming... such as World Of Warcraft... Answer back please, I need a gaming laptop urgent...

  • @85XxxxXXX Ah nice one, sounds like you picked up a great deal there! You'll love the net book, and hate the coursework! Good luck with it!

  • Nice, only persuaded me into wanting one of these more! Gonna pick one up this upcoming Friday. I may even get a RAM upgrade for it too.

Suggestions for the video though: drop the background music, you were rather quiet as it is.

  • seriously...for an extra $14(or so) who would not add the extra 1gb ram?

It makes a world of difference , especially in turbo mode, don't even think about it ..just do it

  • Very good review. Can you install microsoft word && excel and all that?

  • Yep, you can install and run all of Microsoft office. Thanks for your comment!

  • This One And The LG X110 are The Same

  • The screen is only 1024 by 600 so It would need to be connected to an external montor for 720p wouldn't it?

  • Correct, although not sure if this could actually output HD. The graphics cards fairly week.

    Thanks for watching!

  • battery life?

  • Very good. Aprox 6 hours heavy use.

  • hey dude i have the same version but in black color ya know but i have a prob, the laptop is working fine but the few days the camara dousent work!!! plz repond soon !!

  • Hi, there is a button on the netbook that turns the webcam off to conserve battery life. You can turn the webcam off/on by holding down the blue Fn key on the bottom left of the keyboard, and pressing F6. This should turn on the webcam if it has been turned off. If that doesn't work, try using MSI's restore disk and see if it includes the webcam drivers and re-install them.

    Hope this helps!

  • Can you download itunes and frostwire and aim and the normal programs easily on this? And, when i want to import pictures or video from my camera does it do it easily?

I have ALOTALOTALOT of music on my computer as of right now. when i buy this, will it take up most of my memory?

  • Hey Francesca :)

Yep, the MSI Wind will be able to run all of those programs. The netbook runs windows XP, which is similar to windows vista if your home machine runs that.

The netbook comes with a "Mini SD card" reader, which is the sort of card most cameras take - so getting pictures from a camera to the netbook is a breeze!

Also, the model I'm displaying here, the MSI wind U100, comes with a lot of storage space (120GB hard drive) which should take a lot of songs!

    Hope this helps!

  • i'm planning on buying the msi wind pc u100-451us. i was just wondering would this be the same as yours? with a different model number? also i was wondering would there be any new net books coming out any time soon? i'm planning on using this for the next two years.

  • Hey randomasiangeek.

From what I have found out about that product code - its the same as the model I am reviewing up there, just with a 3 cell battery, rather than a 6 cell battery. I really would recommend getting a 6 cell battery - it makes a hell of a difference for how long you can use it for without charging!

Thanks for watching, and if you liked the video, please consider subscribing to stay updated with all the new cool things that are coming soon!

  • thanks for quick reply. 3 cell battery is a little disappointing but thats the only model they have. i guess i'll order a 6 cell battery online. again thanks for reply

  • Yeah, it will be worth ordering as an extra. Thanks for subscribing, and I hope you enjoy your netbook!

  • Great review, ive also just recently purchased the Wind Msi, and your review helped a lot.

    thanks, cheers.

  • Thanks very much for your feedback I hope you have a great time with your new netbook!

  • hi i noticed that you posted this video quite a long time ago but i still hope you get to read this ... i have the asus eee pc notebook right now but iam planning to sell it and buy the msi wind U100 instead... will it be a good choice?? is the msi wind better?

  • Hi Steffyanie!

Yep - I read all the comments from my viewers, so good place to post your question!

In my opinion, I think the MSI Wind U100 is alot better in looks, performance, and value for money than the majority of the Asus Eee PC models. I find the Eee PC's to look quite square, and business like. Where as the MSI has rounded, sleek edges and looks very nice.

Also, the performance of the MSI wind with its 1gb RAM, and 1.6GHZ Intel Atom Processor makes it one of the faster Netbooks.

  • Continuing because I ran out of characters! :P

So yeah, I hope this helps you, and I think changing your Eee pc for an MSI wind is a good choice, although the Eee PC's aren't terrible.

Thanks for watching, and if you've got any further questions, please don't hesitate to pop me a message!

  • how long have you been using your MSI WIND? is it still working pretty good? and one more question pls, i have read from other comments that the screen of the MSI WIND U100 is quite sensitive and a bit wobbly ... is it true?? and THANKS by the way for replying to my comments ;) appreciate it ;)

  • Comment removed

  • haha ... sorry ... you just said from the video that the screen's not really wobbly ... just got my question answered .... :)

  • You got it with B/G/N wireless??? In NL only the B/G wireless intergrated was sold... Pity...

I totally agree on the other brands:

    - Acer, fragile keyboard, feels to "plastic"

    - Asus, first generations only used SSD's (good for accu, bad for HDD space) (1000H is another story)

I totally agree on the 10,1" screen story: Fullsize keyboard is quite important, as is the 1024x600 res. on 10,1". Smaller->smaller numbers/icons/etc, less readable

  • Thanks very much for your comments 0syserror0! Some very interesting stuff there! Its interesting how they change the model around for different parts of the world. Luckily in the UK I managed to get what I wanted.

Thanks for watching, and for the comments!

  • Just got me an 7200Mah Battery; at 50% (haven't charged it yet) it gives me 3 hours (estimated) in Windows Vista Home, but 3h50m in Ubuntu! Ubuntu works different than windows ofcourse, also in the use of resources. I can definately recommend using a dualboot Ubuntu-XP/Visa. XP/Vista for at home. Ubuntu Netbook Remix for on the road.

Maybe an idea to do a review 'bout dual-boot? (the usefulness) Or is that to much software-related? Just an idea...

  • Some remarks:

    - 1st versions shipped with 120GB HDD

    - In NL they only sell the 3-cells version, pity

    - 1.3 Mp cam, not true... it's 0.3 and software interpolated to 1.3 (bummer)

    - Using latest BIOS gives overclock functions up to 2.0 Ghz! (depending on memory)

    - Running Vista Home goes smooth (Aero turned off)

    - Running windows 7, sweeeeeet

    - Running Ubuntu 9.04, faaaassst

    - No 720p HD view, to slow

    - I'm waiting for my 7-cell battery...

  • Enjoyed your review mate. Was definetly rlly helpful.

Just wondering, I live in australia and im purchasing the exact same but its the 120GB hardrive. Does it still come with the partion as well?

    its the MSI WInd U100-247AU

    Cheers

  • Hi 0shortlegs1,

Thanks for watching! Glad you found it helpful.

I really couldn't tell you for sure if the AU model comes with the dual partition, but I would guess that it would.

If you don't like the idea of having two partitions, don't let this put you off the netbook. You can use a piece of software called "G-Parted", which will enable you to merge the two partitions into one big one, keeping all your data safe on the hard drive.

    Hope this helps!
