The reason Metallica gets alot of credit is because most of them can stay together,meaning James,Lars and Kirk...That's part of the reason. Jeff has lost many members it's hard to keep track of them all. Annihilator is Jeff Waters. Plain and simple. He does a good job for one guy constantly keeping it going all these years. Metallica is the USA's hold on Metal. Jeff deserves to be in the hall of heaviness for sure! Megadeth,OverKill and Annihilator in 1990..My 3 favs that year....

Why does every metal band have to be compaired to Metallica? Annihilator and Metallica both kick ass. I'm sick of people dissing Metallica because they're popular. Out of all the people that listin to Metallica, probably 30% of them are real metal heads. Others just bought the Black Album and don't even know the Ride The Lightning is. Metallica wouldn't be a big as their are if they didn't write more radio friendly stuff. Annihilator has stuck to thrash which is fine, but not everyone likes that

1993 back in the days when we all had hair lol.. I remember in about 98-99 helping Dave Davis and Mike Fraser get set up to play a gig at the Red Lion in Victoria, BC before it burnt down and was rebuilt.. He is an awesome guitar player which you don't see so much in these Vids as Waters is showcased more.. Both are great players and it was cool to see this old classic piece on here.. :)

But I do agree on the fact that metallica is way more popular than Annihilator, maybe just because they have a better marketing dept... And yes,.. even I was a big fan of Mustaine AND Waters..i think Mustaine was major-Pissed, when Waters said NO to him...as well Waters mentioned, he couldnt be in a band, without writing his own stuff. This is true, it would have been interesting to see what sort of stuff Jeff and Dave would have written together. Im thinking their sound would have been closer to Chris Polands material. But im glad that Marty got the job over anyone else. He definatly added alot of tasteful flavor to the solos probably more so then Jeff would have but either way Jeffs a great guitarist but their newer albums arent that good, it sounds very generic. I miss the stuff he did with this particular lineup
