Lol. I thought they would make a big change. it basically looks the same to me. Lol, guess that wouldn't matter in the long run since TO riders make the transit so dirty and since TTC doesn't clean up enough. It better work a lot more effectively.

I don't understand why they need to have all the cars open from one end of the train to the other. I mean, at least if it's compartmentalized, you don't have to worry about a smoldering fire and smoke, or noxious fumes, filling an entire subway train, it'll be contained to one car. And removing those center poles is a bad idea. Kids will start using skateboards or running up and down half empty trains. And short people will have a little trouble finding something to hang on.
@transitfusion Sorry, Meant to say they will be on the lines on that date, not in service, but testing. They are now in the subways of Toronto as of yesterday though!!
hardly seems worth the investment. all of the "state-of-the-art" improvements could have been made on the existing subway cars. what a waste of money.
@sndd0138 No, the new ones are made out of stainless steel. So thats not true. They have been redesigned from top to bottom, but still, ery similar in appearance
@Made0fStone If you notice, there's more room for standing, less seats (good luck old people and pregnant moms). The main difference is the ability to move from one train to another because it's open all the way down. I don't know how that will work in the long run if they only have two engines per train, versus now where every car is also an engine (i.e. 6 engines per train).
I thought the one that we have now are new. We're still using those un-air conditioned ones with the unseparated bench seats, probably from the 70s. Are the newer ones considered "aging" already?
It still looks the same. I do like how it's one long tube. If I don't where I'm sitting I could just walk. :) I wish the seats were more cushy, like the older trains.
I heard that these rocket cars will be going on to the University line replacing the H5's & and the H5's will be moving to down to Bloor/Danforth Replacing the retired H4's

I saw this at the CNE last year, it was pretty cool. They have light a display panel up for which stop your at.
The only problem is, if someone lets out gas and farts in one car, it's gonna smell in all the cars.
You can run but you can't hide!
