  • the only problem with vinyl is that i can't buy fucking good hip hop on vinyl these days...

  • @sebbeas123

Amoeba records (google it) is a fantastic store front to still buy a metric shit ton of great hip hop on vinyl including just about all new releases. Also there still exists record clubs and tons of resources to buy vinyl.

  • @tolstoyleo Not in sweden...

  • we need more shit like this. not all that crazy techno sounding noise

  • shitz g man keep it up

    DKUTA.....

  • @Steedius its true, look at how dope he is, you see what hes using? VINYL. how it all started, how it was meant to be, if you learn on a CDJ then your fuckin yourself over. im about to buy a Numark TT-200 and jam on that for a while till i can afford a beautiful Technics

  • not bad skills

  • gamise!

  • egw se ena free scratch

  • what song is this?

  • some l.a. niggaz - dr dre

  • aye this set is nice kid

  • To the discussion regarding CDJs and vinyl below - there's no choice to make - CDJs are for faggots. End of discussion.

  • @tolstoyleo "CDJs are for faggots." Wow. You sure are mature.

  • @Steedius how exactly is saying CDJs are faggots immature?

  • @dazedandsublime Because DJing isn't about the equipment you use, it's about how good your mix is. Also, that was posted a year ago.

  • @dazedandsublime And now I realize you weren't the person I was arguing with in the first place. I'm sorry if my previous response seemed to hold anger or hostility.

  • @tolstoyleo haha! truth spoken!

  • u got it goin awnn dawg!

  • how much did ur turntables cost?

  • @edgar91593 hes using technics 1200's so...., brand new around $500, but ive seen people sell used ones in pairs between $400-$900, LoL I know this one guy, got his pair of 1200's for $15 at a club going out of business auction! the club auctioned them off as "used record players"

  • @noper12345 thats sickkk ...i wanna get somee

but im not sure if i should get some like the ones he's using or a cdj

    !!??

  • @edgar91593 choosing between CDJ and vinyl....the choice is yours

  • @noper12345 but like which one do u think is better?

  • @edgar91593 me personally i would get turntables, but in my opinion it all depends on what your goal is, like i do it as a hobby mostly scratch turntablism, but if u wanna become a club DJ or something id probably get CDJ so you could use CDs with all the newest music, cause you most likely wont find vinyl that has alot of new songs on them.....

  • @edgar91593 ...or u could get turntables with "Serato" or "Torq" that lets you play MP3s on your vinyl from iTunes, but you will then need a laptop or computer to run the software on and get music from also the software and special vinyl to use with the software.."Torq" i think is about $350 and "Serato" i think is around $500-$550... so yea i think it all depends on what you what to do.

  • Problem w/ not gripping the record. use a fingertip moisturizer. the shit they use to count money @ grocery stores. it will help a lot w/ the grip.

  • What are the machines you are using?

  • @wildcat666777

I could have sworn I answered this but now I don't see it. I'm using 1200s as the turntables and an 07 pro for a mixer. A stereo is hooked up to the 07. That's really it besides the needles and the records.

  • So can somebody tell me whats the name of the beat is?

  • hey i got a question. do ur hands ever slip on the record? cuz sometimes it feels like i have to use the edge of the record because i lose grip when i scratch with my hand on the middle of the record. sometimes i want to like wet my hands or something

  • Every turntablist wets their hands with something, keep a semi-wet towel next to you. There's other tricks too, to help with skipping so you can get super fast stabs and shit off without it skipping. Qbert had a good protip video but you can find all those on your own.

  • @joeblow6092 yeh just lick ur fingertips helps the grip like u said! x

  • man dre's beats are beastly

  • so you only work one turntable

  • my beat juggling sets are currently confidential. :D

  • This is really amazing, nice solid beat and some really great scratching, you create some great sound with those scratch samples man. Inspirational to me :)

  • big ups

  • Great 5*

  • I am looking for this dre beat can you say me the name of the beat?

  • what kind of records did u use and where did u get them ?

  • the beat is a dre beat and sample comes from a record called hee haw breaks. you can get them at your local hip hop record shop or amoeba in hollywood or san francisco has a huge selection. you can also buy sample records from thudrumble - qberts company.

  • KEEP IT UP MAN

  • i like it (relatively) ;)

  • yea man that was pretty tight

    mad props to ya

  • respect!

  • yo dude what kinda of record are you using for the scratching? i just bought tables and want to learn this stuff

  • My favorite record that has a lot of samples to scratch is called hee-haw breaks. DJ flare recently (relatively recently) released a new one called hee-haw breaks part 2. There are definitely "scratch records" though, with tons of samples on them and are usually lighter and thinner than say LPs and EPs and are easier to manipulate with less skipping.

  • thats the shit brah

  • this shit is sooo sick

i would edit my skate videos to this shit!

  • fuck yeah i'd love to see a skate part with a sick break beat and scratching

  • damn combos, keep it up

  • boy u got skillz

  • pretty sik man , ignore these negative comments i enjoyed it dude, sik instrumental too ;)

  • word

  • damn sick combos

this makes me want to practice more

    nice though

can u tell me what instrumental that is

  • nice scratching, what weight do you have the arms on the turntable set to? Or doesn't it make a difference?

  • i usually put them almost as heavy as possible, but it depends on the record that I'm using

  • maybe you could think of possibly doing something other than just staying on that same whack scratch for nearly 4:00

  • i bet you don't even know the name of most of my patterns : )

  • yea u got tite scratching but u get a bit boring srry man give a show ya dig

  • okay next time i'll take off my pants while scratching since you expect to see a fucking clown act instead of skills.

  • very smoooth

  • like my butt.

  • sounds great!

i wonder why only 4 stars average...

5* from me, i love ur relaxed sounds :))

  • thanks homie. I've been working on some new combos and I got a new camera to record some stuff. Hopefully some new stuff coming soon.

  • Whats up man nice freestyle what mixer are u using cuz i been looking for a nice scratch mixer?

  • it's an 07

  • nice cuts

  • I think you meant to say, nice butt. so thanks.

  • transforming at 3:02 sounds dope

  • I love it!

Can you tell me what sample u using?

  • the sample is, 'kaaaaaaaaaaaaaa'

    lol

  • u KILLD DAT SHYTE =]]

    <3RAY

  • that sick shit bro! Props!! Yo what track it that u scrtchin too?

  • thats a track from dr.dre's 2001 chronic album.

  • the song is called L.A. niggas represent from the instrumentals of 2001 chronic

  • yea i know. i was just answering another persons question on here. sic shit tho, peace

  • Fuckin OATS!

  • nice scratch and an fadings.

now released!!! the first 1200 with xenon lights!! lol

  • i got a friend who works for power 106 here in los angeles and he hooked up the extra bright lights on everything, it helps when scratching in a dark place

  • Sick sick sick!

  • 3:12 - 3:14

DAAAAmn.... lets hear you do that move back to back to back for a good 20+ seconds! ha... that shit sounds 'haaaard'.

Cool shit man, wish I could pull that off.

  • watch my other video she girl and hot grits styles... it has in it some of my faster scratching.

  • solid technique and 'love' the beat!

  • Fuck that, Grimslider.... any beat is scratchable...

    ESPECIALLY somethin like this....

  • nice brother

  • Damn... Fantastic!!!

  • Good flow.

  • nice, but don't scratch on dre beats, its too westcoast for scratchin....

  • LA represented here. GTFO

  • well if your in la then i guess it makes sense....

  • Not bad at all man keep up this is great!

  • thanks homie. turntablism is my meditation. i can put my headphones on and be lost for days in the sounds of tweaking records

  • nevermnd i got it

  • what instrumental is this???

  • nice dre instrumentals

  • that beats F@#$in gangsta

  • like the beat and scratch....BE LOUD AND PROUD!!!!

  • Awesome, loved the faded zig-zags at 3:20, the cuts could've been a bit louder though.

I'm gonna put a scratch vid up soon, (I'm not at the same level as u, but i'm not bad)

  • How about just get a direct drive lol why the fuck wld you try to use a scratch record on a belt driven table, or if it is direct drive get a fucken shure m44-7 & some butter rugs lol

  • agreed. the comment below needs to get up to date with the 1980s at least WTF

  • This scratch record cannot be played on older record players such as my GE Wildcat from the 70's. If this happens if you can do the record scratching, it would cause scruff marks on it. Be careful not to play a scratch record on any record player that is older including the Magnavox, GE, Voice of Music, Califone, BSR, Newcomb, etc.

  • Get Superseal 2 its the bomb & also HeeHaw Breaks is another good one, your local record/graff shop should tock both plus more... Oh yeh Nice cuts on the video too bro.

  • Sup dude, it's urdu. Awesome sounds. You're good for an internet faggot. keep it up!

  • word. hurry up and level lmao

  • cant belive you said dj deception' flares were sloppy, your not really qualified to say that now are you. and qberts company is thud rumble you twat.

  • ohhhhh e-drama, WHERES YOUR VIDS THEN FAG?

  • shit

  • Let's see your vids then man. Show and prove

  • hey nice ass vid mann...im curious since im just starting out in turntablism...what kind of record do use to scratch with? like our you using a specific sound on a random record to scratch to the track, or is there some kind of specific sound I should look for when scratching???

  • buy scratchy seal records

  • scratchy seal? hmm...im not sure what kind of records those are....

  • by dj qbert. super seal breaks. classic scratchign record i would highly reccomnend it

  • Yeah... Dr. Dre! Pretty sweet, keep it up!

  • reppin LA all day

  • Baw The Rotten

  • safe some sick scratchin whats the best type of vinyl to get i got decks but note to practice wit safe

  • buy scratch records from qberts company, thunder something.. idk

  • nice. 3 fingers clicks i see. awesome

  • thanks homie

  • Thats sikk, never thought about scratchiing over "La niggas" pretty clean freestyle.

  • word

  • qbert is so sick dude

he keeps gettin better and better

    gj on gettin his patterns

  • I personally think he's getting worse. I think he's in an experimental stage these days where he has abandoned many old school patterns (like chirping) in favor of just sticking to newer flare combos and tear patterns. Just my humble opinion. And yes, when ONE person has invented most of the modern day scratch patterns there's not much we can do except learn them ourselves :)

  • I've recently gotten a handle on 2 Click Flares. Took me forever to "get them" down.... been doing 1s for years though.

Any ideas on how to break into 3s... I can't even get my head around the extra click... it's maddening!

  • I do them as a crab-flare, just like a single flare only instead of 1 click in the middle of the pattern do a really fast 3-fingered crab. It sounds interesting. But I think DJ flare actually does them without crabbing, which no one in the world has figured out how to do yet : /

  • watch the vid at about the 1:35 - 1:40 mark for how I do them, I'm only doing the reverse variation there but you can see and hear what it sounds like.

  • are you right handed or left?

  • right handed :)

  • chomp

  • LOVE that East Coast flavored beat.

clean cuts - keep it up!

  • lol it's a Dre beat homie

  • lmao

  • Clean..on beat, and funky..the way it's supposed to be..just wish that right TT's volume was a little higher..peace

  • yo this shit dopee

  • Thanks be on the lookout for some new shit. These vids are a few months old and I got some new tricks to put out there

  • totlstoyleo is tight!

  • Yo yo, Where my homie Bio been at?

  • haha not on wow

  • yo tolstoyleo this shit is on fire!

    hot stuff, dawg, hot stuff!

    you doin real good

  • thanks homie

  • 15 years? doesn't sound like it

  • I'd like to see a video of you doing better :) I'd scratch circles around you

  • ok, its fine to talk shit to some one you don't know.

  • proof is in the pudding. put up a scratch video of yourself

  • I never said you were bad I was just saying you could be better for 15 years. I don't put vids cause I don't have none for one, and 2 I alweays know there is someone better

  • Im MAkin A vid soon all view in like 2 month check my talents on decks

  • where can i find isntrumentals like that

  • Awesome scratching! Can't wait to try it myself.

    One advice: iron your shirt

  • Haha good point, I don't iron though.

  • sick

  • Man! you rocks!

  • cant wait to get my turntables

  • yo man, some of the best flow i have heard in a long time. im sick of these wack ass djs that can cut fast but dont have the slighest conception of what rythm is. keep up the mad cuts....keep up the mad flow....keep making music.

  • respect

  • Beat name please?

  • It's a dre beat

  • damn man throw them beats down! that sounds nice

  • nice and tight, just how i like it

  • Dr. Dre

  • where do u learn this stuff. plz answer some1. this shit is sick as hell

  • you have to learn yourself watch a few videos

  • Thanks man.. Nice scratch ;)

  • This goes for ANY musician... I scratch because I like listening to it. And that's it. Simple as that. It's something I wanna hear so I make what I want to hear. That's a lot of problems with musicians... in it for the wrong reasons.

  • dr. dre

  • what beat is that

    heard it before

  • The beat is dre

  • Wow dude you got talent! I really want to learn how to do all that. Any advice?

"So really I just play to hear it. I get stiff as hell though when recording or there's people watching"

Jeez dude don't get so hard on urself you are a sick DJ ! Good luck in the future btw!

  • yea u ed rythem your beats tempo and scratch tempo have to be the same you ewere doin real fast scratches on a slow beat

  • are ya sure about that?

  • nice stabs...but you should turn the kuts up & grab another super seal rec. hah.

  • Yeah I have that problem a lot with turning down the cuts a bit. A lot of people seem to turn them up way too high and I think it ruins the beat.

  • *TMMB Rep Point*

  • Pretty sick. Consider this my youtube equivalent of a green dot on the RMMB. (Just for reference, I'm RussBeechinor.)

  • Hell yeah thanks man.

  • The only suggestion I have for you young ones is to learn all the scratches: rubs, tears, chirps, flairs, orbits, crabs, a wide array of transformers (underused) all of them. Jabs and shit are overlooked and everyone wants to be flair king of the punyverse. Good lookin'...

  • I know every pattern you mention intimately and use them all within my scratching. Maybe you should listen better before commenting. I've been scratching for almost 15 years now.

  • Dude I wasn't talkin' about you, I was just mentioning what the young cats need to know to build. R.I.F. fool and btw I've been DJing since 1982 so 15 years ain't shit! Maybe you should've done something other than scratch like get a degree so you can comprehend a compliment when you read one! Being one dimensional don't mean shit. Anyone can concentrate on one thing and excel at it!

  • Where's your videos at?!?

  • Well said.. I have a long way to go myself, I can crab, scratch, chrip, scribble, transform. But I can't get the autobahn and prizm scratches; and the 1and2 clicc flares for shit, that shit real hard to do.. aka Blaze
