Incredible voice, incredible guitar, but i'm going to give some respect to the violin in this, it really gave so much emotion to the cover, marvellous job and the best cover of a bruce springsteen song on youtube.

Lovely job, my absolute favorite Bruce song and it was a worthy cover. Not as desolate, but I don't think the original will ever be matched there. The sweet sad violin is very very pretty and I love his falsetto ooooh ooh's.

I like Mat Kearney his songs are very good and he's one of the true artists the music industry has today. That being said this version like some have said on here is far too cheery for what the song is about. Bruce Springsteen did a great job with this song in writing it and producing it. The song had a lot of real world connections to the organized crime around AC. Matt Kearney should have brought the same feel to this as he did with his song All I Need. That would've been great.

I don't think it's so much upbeat as it's representing a man that is manic about losing it all, and it's his last gasp effort at beating this thing.

If you truly want to hear an upbeat version of this tune listen to The Clarks...I'm from Pittsburgh, but the only thing that's missing from their version is a cloudless sky and rainbows...this version remains true to the song in a very 2009 sense

I guess it's a little faster than the original, but I'm loving the violin and the sincerity of Mat's voice. I thought he connected with the soul of the song really well.
