@Niceboy3377 as soon as it happens you rush to sit down and when you do you have to rest it when I did it during a basketball training I looked down my shirt like a stooge and saw my bone sticking out in front of me and i was in such shock that the 20 mins i had to wait for the ambulance felt like 2 hours after 4 green sticks and some morphine they pop it back in using like a cloth or something and you feel them doing it but their is no pain aftershock and the green stick makes you ass numb haha
@Niceboy3377 it's the most painful thing i've ever experienced. the first time i did it they gave me four shots of morphine on the way to the hospital, and I was still in intense pain. people who experience it always comment about how bad it hurts. Then when they get the bone back in the joint, it's instant relief.
it just happened to me now and I popped it back in but now it is still hurting so bad! But it is not the point where I can't take the pain! So fresh pain! hard to move my arm up! :(
i'm a 16 year old girl i dislocated my shoulder twice the first time it hurt like hell but the pain was too strong for me to cry. the second time was yesterday in a car accident didn't cry either but this time was worse even thou the pain wasn't that bad since its already loose. once this happens it will happen over and over again so i need surgery =/. in my opinion it feels wayyy better once its back in place :).
there's a difference between a semi and full dislocation .. normally you can put back a semi by yourself and it doesn't hurt.. but a full dislocation normally need medical help, because all the muscles and tendons become inflamed and it's almost impossible to put back until the swelling has been reduced .. also the pain is terrible.
I've had a shoulder dislocation two days ago. Fucking hurt.
I really felt with you, I had a dislocation now the second time and it hurts so freaking.. I had to smiley as you whispered 'Fuck'.. that was the same thing which went through my head after the shoulder was relocated. I hope your shoulder if fine now :) Be careful!
i broke my arm two times (first time was really really really really really shitty my fucking arm chaned its shape and shit) and i hate anything that is about arms or legs problems after watching this video im going to google how not to dislocate shoulder safety tips.
My joints are getting more loose, and I have dislocated both shoulders, the right repeatedly. Two ER's did two variations of basically the same thing. I "reduce" it myself now. I used to just grab a door frame at shoulder height and pull back. Lately I just support the elbow with the other hand and bring it up like I was trying to touch opposite ear. Then I bring it across and down. No pulling at all.
@Kotta62 Hey Kotta, it might be back like b4, but be very very careful of your shoulder for several weeks after your dislocation. Wear a brace for a few weeks. try to get physical therapy or look online for exercises you can do to repair the small muscles that were torn when you dislocated. see a doctor if you can. good luck.
man im only 15 and I have had 8 dislocations in the past 2 years. The more it happens the less it hurts. the first dislocation i had to go to the ER and the ambulance ride was the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. So now I just pop back into place myself by sitting up straight bringing the knee of the dislocated side up and holding onto it and slowly straightening its a long process but its one of the best feelings when you feel it go back in
dislocated my shoulder 3 times, first time tried forcing it in over n over to make the pain stop, didnt go in, after a half hearted attempt I finally popped it in before my dad got the car. It felt better, but as u know it felt wierd as fuck, did it two more times, tubing, then on a trampoline, didnt hurt the third time and easy in and out, also had to get surgery torn labrum all the way around, shoulders good as new , never will be 100 percent but its great...! (get the surgery)
yes, it's incredibly painful as they get it in the right position to put back in. for some reason the two times i've done this I have not been able to pop it back in myself, so the longer you wait to get it done, the more the muscles in the area swell up making it harder and harder to get back in, which is why it takes so many drugs. thanks for writing everyone. it's good to know how people manage this!
i had my dislocate twice,, and both times i had to go to the ER.. it hurts i wish i knew how to pop back myself also... but it is so much PAINNN ..when the lady was try to pop it in, did it hurt like every time she pulled and turn ?

One more thing why did you need morphine? Mine always hurt for maybe 10 seconds because the muscles are tweaking out, after that its just a little pain. Once it slides back in it is instant relief.
I dislocated my shoulder for the first time during hockey a few months back. Now the smallest quick jerk of my shoulder will cause it to dislocate. Good thing for me is that after about 5 minutes of moving it around it slides back in with ease.
i recently dislocted my shoulder and really upset about it, its much like of being hadicapped, im doomed,
anyway, if you dislocated your shoulder just send me a message, i really want to benefit from your experience, as already worried about it, the internet stories are crazy, you read how many times people re dislocate their shoulderss..

You can only pop your shoulder back in yourself if its a partial dislocation.
If it comes out completely the muscles contract when the adrenalin cut in and you have to have it put in by a doctor.. I done mine 3 x before eventually having it operated on.. but the best way is to sit sideways on a chair with a pillow on top & your arm over the top lever it out n drop it in.. if they force it it causes more damage..I had mine done twice like this with just nitros.. but yes quite painfull..
shit yeah, sholder dislocations sucks, i did mine at footy training the other week. n i had it dislocated for over 4 hours with my arm in the air cuz i couldnt move it n then the local docs wouldnt put it back in so i had to drive an hour to get the prick back in, best feeling getting it back in tho.
hoo my friend im so sorry about it ,,you know please get your shoulder rest out of moving for 3 weeks that´s what im doing cuz i do not want doctors to open my shoulder again that´s always risky good luck my brother ....
seriously man i dislocated my shoulder five times in the past yr m doin an operation few days from now....it sux the pain and all it was anterior dislocation the last one couple of weeks ago...yeh shit hurts take care man
I have my right shoulder dislocated 35 times in last 3 years and have to go to hospital just once. It´s not too hard to get dislocated shoulder back, but you must take all the pain and NEVER do any fast or aggressive moves because you can do it worse than it is. Just stay calm and try some easy positioning of your shoulder and it will slip back, but it needs practice,
i know thats how mine is. i cant stand to have to wait to go to a doctor and have them do what i can do within a few seconds, but thats only because that pain is horrible.
I have double jointed shoulders, they were never a problem, in highschool people would like too see it "pop" out like any other double jointed part. so i would show and they'd be shocked, little did i know that every time it weakened my muscles, so when i was in my football game and made a tackle, they just poppd out, very horrible pain, its happened to me at least 10-15 times each shoulder, ive always put it in by myself, too me its more scary and shocking. do alot of shoulder workouts
If it ever happens again this is what you do.... Stand straight up and with your other hand on the good shoulder grab the wrist of your dislocated arm and just pull your arm across your body kind of like your stretching. It will "slip" into place rather than "pop" and you will instantly feel relief. The main thing is to just stay as calm as you can and relax your muscles.
Man I feel you, I dislocated my shoulder running and tripping over a damn cat! They used the same procedure as ur's getting it back in but didn't work so they set me stomach first on the table with my shoulder hanging off and just messaged it and it slid back in place...it has never been right since, every now and than it'll come out..but i can get it back in. Hang in there bro and keep on surfing!!!
hang in there. You really just have to see a doctor or physical therapist if you can so you can understand how to keep it isolated for a week or so so it heals. Don't be swinging it around and testing it or it could pop out again really easily until the muscles that hold it in place heal up.Best of luck!
Mine popped out last friday, i made a funny move with my arm when i was suprised when the shower went on. it took an hour for a medic arrived and it did as much pain as being in labour!!!! The medic put it back the same way as with you! But i was sitting i think this took less time, but a cannot really judge this because it only felt shorter. The moment it popped back in the horrific pain was gone. Today(thuesday) i can't move, everything hurts!
i just put my shoulder back in my self after i dislocation it. only cos i was in too much pain to wait for an ambulance and I wanted the pain to stop. I still had to wait hrs in A and E. I've lots of drugs now. I've got a morphine patch which takes the edge of the pain.
You are brave to put it back in. I could never do that. Take good care of yourself. Wear the shoulder isolator and sling as long as they say. Get physical therapy if you can. Take care. It will be good as new in no time.
thanks and maybe you're right, but when I did this once about 20 years ago in the US they rushed me to a hospital and it took about the same amount of time. i'm learning that the faster you get it put back in, the easier; otherwise, everything has a chance to swell and it makes it harder. i admire all these guys who say they did it themselves. i'm too chicken.
@drluckyvv I know.. mine took two tries only because he stopped because I was cursing... But.. I feel his pain.. It was the worst I've ever felt and the ride to the ER is really bad... We were driving the slowest we could..

WRONG WAY ! can take 1second with the 90° method.

I play rugby at uni, and I dislocate my shoulder at least once a month every month.
both of them are pretty loose, but I enjoy the sport, and I guess I got used to it.
even in my everyday life, I sometimes dislocate it and it a whole lot of pain you went thru!!
at least you are not told to have a surgery by your coach and all the doctors every time you go to the hospital...
a student like me ain't got money for such a thing...
