  • If it were porsche there would only be one....the LSX, that's why you can race one out of the show room.

  • yep! What a fuckin rat!! Our guy on the left was like I'ma grab a monkey wrench and beat this... crack monkey. lol, what a bitch

  • The crackheaded fuckstick on the right needs to just sit there and nod.

  • so the lsx heads can be purchased aftermarket and are compatible with the ls9 engine?

  • and just on a side note ye all be hating on the jap inlines right!! ?? when audi brought there little 2.5 litre straight 5 turbo to yere races over there ye laughed.. audi won all races hands down, check it out look it up i dont care.. then ye banned them from racing because i presume its tuff being so fucking ignorant and having to accept defeat.. then audi moved on and was then banned 1 by one from all other forms of motorsport 1 by 1 because of sore fucking loosers.. progress by technolegy

  • @MixQuisite you have no clue about anything... lol.. ever here of an nsx.. lol your a joke man go polish your rustang

  • European engine. Fact the cars you talk about are German engineered. most real english built cars breakdown & are under powered. Your just Fuckn stupid. KEEP SWALLOWING man !

    LMAO@U!

  • @nickernosher

I have to agree with this man. I mean im young, but i k now a thing a 2 about vars. And if there is one engine that imo is one of the dickest, its the toyota 2jz. Japanese and german vehicles kno how to make strong and powerfull block that last forever. An it seems to me the american behicles are always more focused on pure quatinty 80 percent of the time. I mean sure these engines(ls1,2 6 etc) are powerfull engines. But they just never match up the uerpenean vehicles

  • its finnally getting to me.. all this honda v american crap, i mean thers 2 sides to it ye biast basturds.. and the jap side wins slightly.. get over it.. patriotism must suck if ye cant take 1 single loss lol.. i love yere engines because there different and i dont get to see them or work on them. the same argument is to be said about americans who just think o fhtem as alien gook machines made of tin cans. lol yere all pathetic. fuck the numbers this is purely people being windowlicking pricks

  • that nerdy skiny guy on the right sounds like a fag... holy shit shut the fuck up and let the gm guy talk

  • Im embarrassed for him.

  • whats the differences in the Blocks?

  • What a lame interview!!

  • This is embarrassing to just watch

  • They might as well have had Oprah do this interview!

She may have asked more intelligent questions, about head design.

  • LoL at the interviewer. Yeah you are gonna spend all the money on a killer head and then put a small cam in it. :/

  • he might be talking about the idle. bigger cams have rougher idles, or jumping.. but im not sure why he said that tho, i thought the same thing when he said it, but im trying to fifure out why he wanted to have those heads with a mild cam or somesort.. and think he was also talking about keeping it legal as well by using a smaller cam.. idk.. lol

  • Nice video

  • nice to see chevy performance doing things right.

  • Copying a ford head? Are you high? An overhead cam head and a pushrod head have nothing in common genius.

  • "overhead cam head" what are you talking about?.take a look at the 289-302 heads.the LS engine has more similarities with the 302 and mod then any previous chevy engine.

  • @331sbf Why? Because the both the 302 and LS cylinder heads use inline valves, or the LS block is skirted like a mod motor?

Thats as justifiyable as comparing a platapus and a duck by virtue of thier bills.

Your comparing chocolate to "shit", my friend. Just because they look similar dont mean that they have the same "taste".

    P.S. Mod motors suck

  • @originaldriver Mod motors have more potential and are capable of running 7's.A 4.6L Teksid block can handle 1200 hp easily lets see a stock LS block from the junkyard do that.Reverse the LS vales and you have a Ford head and a LS head WILL bolt on a 351W.Just face it the LS motor is more like a 302 and 4.6L then a Chevy.Small block Chevy's used Siamese port heads like the Ford Y block and now spread port like the 302.

  • @331sbf

    Mod motors have more potential?!?!?!?

Last I checked, a common, junk-yard variety LQ "cast iron" block was good for 1700hp. (not to mention the fact that ford does not have a factory block to it's name that can survive the power levels of a LSX sport block in street form) Where'd the hell did you get that shit from?

  • @originaldriver Accufab's John Mihovetz is making 2100hp from a TT 4.6L Teksid(Lincoln Mark VIII and 96-99 Cobra block).Mean while there's a Chevy LSX TT 400 CID making 2040hp.Now why does Chevy need 117 more cubes to make the same power as a little 283 CID?.

  • @331sbf More than likely, thats a sleeved and half-way cemented mod-block thats good for little more than a few minutes of runtime. Meanwhile the afforementioned LSX would be good for the street.

    Thats the difference.

  • @331sbf well gm must be doing something right, theyve been beating ford motors in power output for years

  • @331sbf interesting, but why is the "little displacement" ford 4.6 litter engine, physically bigger then the lsx motor hmm.... (sarcasm)

it might have smaller displacement then an lsx, and be making the same power as a lsx. BUT ITS A HUGE ASS MOTOR. i wouldnt call that very efficient.

lsx is much smaller, infact you could actually fit those into a little import nissan 240sx.

pushrod technology, surely seems primitive, but its results are amazing! and its nice and compact.

  • @e320e98u lmfao wel not even the new 5.0 makes the same power as a lsx376 which is the smaller lsx motor its 470 ish hp and the lsx 454 is 620

its so much larger becuz there as opposed to a pushrod motor there is 2 to 4 xs as many internals that need space so less cubes more everything else and pushrod is nothing primitive nowadays

  • @cienporcientoculopri

exactly lol, ford got the DOHC setup, but it dont help them much lol

I come from a world, of small japaneese 4 cylinder motors making 600hp under heavy boost, but i have hit a wall in terms of horsepower. Heck even alot of import people are throwing these LSX awesome motors, in thier cars, skylines,rx7, 240sx. The LSX is a worthy upgrade, nice compact, and has gobs of "Naturaly Aspirated" power, in built and boosted form its just scary, over 2500hp capable!

  • @331sbf becuz it dosent need 2 to 4xs as many internal parts as the lsx motor becuz physically ur 283 is still 100 lbs heavier and at least 6 to 10 inches longer an wider in every angle then the lsx

  • MMMMmmmm DR heads i need some dose Jegs sell these heads complete with a lsx block .

  • Why is Chevy copying Ford heads?.

  • hahahahahah

  • @331sbf What the hell???

Where did you come up up with that bullshit. Thats like accusing God of imitating man.

  • what material are they made out of? What type of alloy?

  • The Honda VTEC engine isn't that bad, in fact I'm looking for one, to run my Chev's windscreen washer!

  • thats fuckin funny

  • BWAAAhahahah, awesome. I love the LS motors... Nothing better. Look at the the Ultima GTR. Fastest car in the world cause of it.

  • There are plenty of motors that are WAY better than the LS motors.

I will concede that the LS motors have a GREAT note :D but a pushrod OHV engine isnt exactly high tech.

  • @jaydnisevil Not exactly "High tech"? Are we perhaps a bit biased?

The internal combustion engine has operated on the same principle for the last 150 years.

Despite what you think of as "high-tech", the only thing that matters in the end is results.

Theyre might be quite a few "snazzier" engines about, BUT you are going to fail miserably at finding any other modern engine with the versatility, cross-compatability, upgradablility or cost effectiveness of the LS series motor.

  • Haha got me, I am biased. look at things like the merc engines, and the same capacity motor gets around 380kw unmodded. Tuned and exhaust they get around 450kw!!

Your right though, not just the top figures, but the torques moutains higher. (DOHC with timing vs OHV)

Petrol engines are glorified air pumps, technology just allows them to pump air more efficiently.

Well Cross-compatability etc all come from numbers. If you stick with a style of motor, your bound to have lots of parts avaliable.

  • @jaydnisevil Appreciate the honesty.

I will say frankly, that I have my own personal biased concerning engines. I dont like overly heavy, mechanically over-complicated or awkwardly wide motors, reguardless of thier output.

If it cant be swapped or modified and be reasonably cost effective, then I dont want it.

  • Everybody has preferences :)

Some people despise turbochargers, others sware by them. Depends what your after out of an engine. You want modabililty (yes I made up a word lol) and other people want reliability, fuel economy or high revvs etc.

Well as car enthusiest, whatever makes our job easier yea ;)

  • @jaydnisevil *Hee hee*..."Modability" works in my dictionary.

  • i know you like to identify certain design attributes and say this is better or that's better, this is more sophisticated, etc. but it's the end results, whatever the engineers did with that particular engine, that matters - i'm sick of hearing all these kiddies say that the engine is simple and stupid when it does a fantastic job doing what it does

  • @jaydnisevil

it might not be high tech, but it gets results, the motor is aluminum and tiny, but it makes serious horsepower.

"Can you say 500hp all motor?"

  • @Biggerbadwolf yeah i know, right? it only produces almost double the specific output of any american naturally aspirated engine... what a piece of crap... do you americans also need a 7.0L engine for your lawnmower to run?

  • @lobzdik mines a 7.2L engine in my lawnmower

  • @lobzdik I prefer a 7.5 liter on my lawnmowers. 460+ cubic inches.

  • yaaaa..VTEC all the lag of a turbo with none of the power

  • @turbocamaross

gota love vtech: were about to hit 20,000RPM! that should be 200hp to the wheels! yay lol

    (sarcasm lol)

LS6 makes 405 hp at 6000rpm, no need for vtech lol

  • geez, shut up!!!!! what a d bag

  • interesting

  • then why did you look it up?

  • to piss off some1 haha and it workd. gotta love the honda vs muscle car agruments :D:D

  • There is no argument, VTEC fails.

  • thats why hondas r more reliable thn chevy :)

  • Just drove a P.O.S. Honda Accord last week, don't make me laugh!

  • HONDA!!!!!! HAHAHA dont make me laugh. I fucking hate honda's. Comparing a honda to a gay guy is the perfect combo. No matter what you do to a honda its still a honda, No matter wether a gay guy likes girls or not he's still gay! So in that comparison i bring you that HONDA'S ARE GAY!

  • new accords r pretty good. im not sure what u r compering it 2..

  • Honda's are lame bro. Im a Ford guy and when it comes to an LSX engine i would drive the LSX engined car over the shitty as 4 banging rice box. Honda's can barely push 12lbs of boost stock. The camaro's, mustangs, WS6's, Formula's, and Vette's well you dont want to get your feelings hurt do you. Have a good day driving something made with chopsticks and ill keep driving my fork made!

  • 12 pounds of booost is enough for a shitty for banger to beat the average muscle car . be happy with the 03 04 SVT cobra cuz thats the best mustang Ford will ever have... chopsticks or not they r better cars and u know it... learn how 2 swollow the truth

  • Im sorry, but Im looking to buy a great looking sports car, I dont think a Honda civic would look good with my lifestyle, I finished Highschool 5 years ago... I dont wanna look like I am still in it.. Im going to get me a Camaro SS with no Stickers.. LOL

  • get a mustang.. camaros have bad reviews they r gona die as fast as they came back

  • But everybody has a mustang...I test drove a Camaro SS and felt the brute force of classic pushrod... My buddies Modular 4.6 GT just doesn't feel like a muscle car but just a sporty car... Its fast but not fast enough or torquey.....

  • if i were u i would get a 03 04 SVT cobra.. best stang ever. but if u like the camaro go for it

  • Yup, go for it man, I'm trying to upgrade my 98 Trans Am with a 2002 Trans Am Firehawk or just another WS6

  • @odalV

    because theyre slow

  • MMMmmmm D R Heads i want a pair .

  • this was a great vid......but if i was that GM guy i would have taken that mic and beat the fuck out of that dumbass for interrupting me a hundred damn times

  • Yeah, I actually wanted to hear this guy explain it rather than peckerwood cut this guy off.

  • Perfect head for TS S/Cer.

  • The guy doing the inteview, the one on the right. He really needs to SHUT THE FUCK UP!! and let the guy from GM finish talking. The fucking douche on the rght needs to take a fucking breath before opening his fucking mouth.

  • I couldn't agree more. GM did a nice job, but that Streetfire D bag needs to shut the hell up. That guy ruined what was a very informative vid. Too bad.

  • Yeah, these new LS series engines is a very effective design. I'd like to put one in my 94 Caprice so I can improve fuel economy, maybe one of those flexi fuel engines thereby modernizing it in the process.

  • Very nice design.
