  • @GGGRRR yes!

  • Florida is the best :-) We get the best summer storms. gotta love it

  • high five to my fellow floridian neighbors who agree with him/her!

  • Is this in Orlando or somewhere else??

  • Actually that kind of frame is not enough to protect you. Too many openings at the top, and usaully those kind of structures are too weak to help much. Sturdy buildings, and hard top vehicles are you safest bet. Film from a car or from in the building.

  • You are standing under a metal frame in lightning. Isnt that a tad dangerous?

  • Someone may prove me wrong, but I would think that is a fine place to watch lightning. The frame would act similar to a Faraday cage I think.

  • Spot on, the frame would provide you with protection, although if there was any moisture on the floor, you may get a bit of shock as the lightning earths itself.

  • @bandit1077 That's actually a good question. At first I figured the glass would be a hazard since lightning can go through it, however the principal behind your theory is accurate based on the car rule. Cars with solid tops are very safe to be in thunderstorms because if lightning strikes, so long as you aren't touching metal, it'll pass through and out without harming you. If that is the case then the only remaining bit is whether or not the flooring there would be considered grounded.

  • @CombatSportFan it isn't glass. it is a mesh net. but the car principle is called a "faraday cage".

  • @bandit1077 ding ding ding! you are ABSOLUTELY correct!

  • lol obviously its a terrible place to be.

  • @chunder123 actually, the metalframe is to protect people from lightning. I live there, so I know. the metal frame acts as a faraday cage, and when lightning strkes the frame, the electricity is conducted AROUND the space, therefore, protecting the person, unless he/she is touching the frame!

  • I love flordi want to live there one day

  • i live in florida and hate it

  • why?

  • cause theirs nothing to do here! you gotta like travel far distances 4 everthing and its to hot and always raining well not anymore but the beaches are eroding away and it just like no fun
