I don't think those would be road legal here as they're nearly tanks and think what they would do if they hit smart cars XD. A subaru would do the trick. all wheel drive is pathetic it's just two wheels spinning at one time and they alternate. 4 wheel drive is actually all four going at the same time all the time

There's a very expensive process to get a model certified as "importable" by the US govt, which involves a crash test (which the trucks would probably pass, but would fail emissions). Although there are many theories knocking around regarding workarounds and loopholes, the proven way around it is to import a car =>25 years old; then it's exempt from everything. I have the exact opposite imported from Poland: a FIAT 126p. :)

It's my understanding that it's easier to import a car to Canada, and that it's easier to import a car to the US from Canada. There's a special government list of eligible Canadian-market models, because they are particularly similar to US-market. Which is not to say that importing from Russia to Canada, then Canada to the US would go any smoother than importing straight from Russia to the US, since these trucks weren't meant for Canada!
