This video is adorable, I have two boys of my own and you just know I'm gonna have lots of fun with them this Christmas. :3 That's a cute idea wrapping their treats in wrapping paper, I'mma have to do the same thing with the Xmas treats for my ratties, gerbils and hamsters and see if they can figure it out. Depends on your situation. In my case, one of my boys died and I got him a new buddy, and the remaining boy died before the newbie could even settle in with him. :( My parents wouldn't let me get another for him. He (Edward) is a very spoiled boy though!

yup you are coz they cant groom each other and stuff plus no company at night and lots more. if you put in a rat in the same cage now they will kill each other so yes bottom line yes.

I think you'll enjoy pet rats much more than gerbils. I really don't know too much about gerbils, but i love my rattie to death. I've had 7 rats in my life time. They're so smart, people pleasing, curious, sweet- kind of like little dogs.

My female rat Wilfred is so energetic, but recently she got sick and I have been spending all of my time with her and looking after her as best I can and she is on the road to recovery!

Absolutely right, males are a lot slower and deliberate and easier to train too. Males are much larger and definitely the ones that will cuddle more. Girls are much smaller and nuts lol, but so much more agile and able. If you're after cuddling though males are definitely the way to go :)

These are two of the cutest rats ever! Just after Xmas we had to put one of our girls to sleep - our sweet Leilani aka Bhudda. She had cancer and her sister Tabby aka Mushy has cancer too so we're on borrowed time. Ratties are the best pets and so many people think they're vile. Keep on making videos!

No problem :). I'm in the UK, as I understand it there are some breeders in the US who are starting to breed European Huskies but they are still overly rare. If you look hard enough though you may have some success :).

What are you usually feeding your rats during these videos? That mushy red thing? Is that raw meat or something?

Their treats vary in most of the videos, i usually use bagged treats from pet stores (but broken up into small bits to allow training without over treating). The one in this video is actually dried fruit (i can't remember what type of fruit it was) again it came in a bagged rat treat set from a pet store.

Ok, message sent direct - in short (hopefully youtube will let me post this). It sounds like mites, not lice and would be simple to cure ... but you MUST take your ratties to the vets. There is no shortcut here - its so important that you get the correct diognosis and treatment for it. Let me know how it goes

I had a great Christmas.. and an even better new year!! My Ratties came to live with me on New Years Day!! Two Does - a Russian Blue called Cassandra and a Pink Eyed Russian Blue Siamese called Anromache. They're so cute, they spent the last hour sleeping in my cardigan, lol!!
