  • superb, you must be one of the best tech reviewers on you tube, easy to follow :)

  • @TalkToTheBody Thanks so much!

  • Hey,is it necesary to use that usb thing? If my pc has a good sonic card do i need to use the interface?

  • @granskater If it's a very low atency card and you can get your guitar in it should be fine. :-)

  • This set up might work on a PC program but in real time the way you set up these effects it would never work...

  • its thin az razor!!!!!! newer seen such thin guitar)

  • Haha, nice video Dave, just one thing.Kee Marcello plays this particular song(Superstitious), not John :-)

  • @ViniciusMPepino Oh, thanks man!!! :-D

  • Cool video, dude.

  • @6Vital6Remains6 Thanks!

  • Do you mean something as simple as this? I can't post the link but it's a it is a £1.75 USB dongle soundcard, off flebay

  • @MRWHITE3535 No, I think the latency won't be good enough. Check out M-Audio products... You might find something good!

  • Thanks mate, I will get a hold of the demo, if that doesn't work with my mother boards on-board sound, I will get a sound card, as I would like to get this software working as it sounds awesome, thanks again ;-)

  • @MRWHITE3535 You're welcome!

  • I too are tempted to get this software, (as it will save me money buying amps) but it would also be great if somebody would do an actual video on connecting the guitar to the computer and the setup, will this work with my PC's on board sound card?

  • @MRWHITE3535 I think you would need an audio interface. Your onboard sound card might not be low latency enough for this.

You should try the free demo though! :-)

  • @Wallimann

By audio interface do you mean a sound card?

  • @MRWHITE3535 Yeah, usually an external one (usb, or Firewire)

  • TH2 Much better import IR's. In Revlaver sound have more rawness.

  • @ TorppeV I am using MAUdio Mobile Pre USB interface. The M-AUDIO driver will allow you to hear the stand alone version of TH2. The Maudio Interface give youGuitar a more natural sound than going strait to sound card.

If interested in recording then I sugest Getting the Plugin version and use what ever recording software you want. For Example Cake walk, Adobe audition, ETC

  • Hey David,

I've seen alot of people use these guitar softwares on computer but none has ever really told how to use them. I mean what do you need to play guitar with that software and what should I plug into and where etc. Could you tell me please?

I'm kinda interested in using such a thing.

  • @TorppeV Sure! You would need a soundcard with low latency that you can also easily plug your guitar in. It's often called an audio interface. Some are USB and not that expensive. Check M-Audio's products for example. :-)

  • @Wallimann I see, thanks!

  • @Wallimann Have you ever tried overloud in a live situation?i mean with a laptop and everything?i use it myself at my desktop and its awesome but i was wondering if i can get those great sounds onstage with the minimum of fuss.i know there are devices like v-pedal that lets you load your favorite software and use them as multieffects units on stage..but i havent tried anything like that....do you have any experience like that live?

  • @Dreamdancer11 No I haven't tried it live. But I know it would work great!

  • have you tried Revalver? really convincing tubey sounds from it, and lets you tweak the insides of the amps, and it uses external IRs. plus, you can get it working in Linux!

  • @heminder Haven't tried it yet. I'm just so happy with TH2!

  • It sounds awesome man! Great tone!

  • @rconnie Thank you very much!

  • 3 very important questions...

    1) Where are your glasses?

    2) Did you get a new job as an airline pilot?

    3) Is your midi keyboard missing a key? (see 3:17)

    :D

  • @pixelboxcreative

    1. Took them off 'cause it creates a nasty reflection...

    2. Yep...

    3. Yep...

    :-D

  • great preset...copying,thanks.

  • @dododo2200 Thanks!

  • Do you play hockey with your headstock?

  • @lovescarguitar Yeah, eery Saturday mornings. :-D

  • @Wallimann Awesome :)

  • Ugh! I downloaded the demo to try this out because it looks excellent. For some reason, it wouldn't read my Mbox 2 and I keep getting this weird feedback sound. I gave up on it after like an hour of trying to figure it out. Any ideas?

  • @nothingislogical That's really weird... You should try to email them man...

  • You should buy yourself a leather pants, a colourful sleeveless shirt, some hairspray and start a 80's band...would be great :D

  • @PhilosopherOnWeed Don't give me ideas like that.. :-D

  • Great Demo David! I love that 80's sound man... Now that you've set up all the gear in the software, does TH2 have the option of saving that setup as a "personal preset" or would you have to go through the process again after closing and re-opening the program?

    Rock On!

    Al

  • @albooher1 Thanks buddy!

Yeah, you can save it as a personal preset. There are hundreds of free space for that. :-)

  • Great video and educative,too!

  • @2712985 Thanks a lot!

  • coool! Does it record aswell? or does it just model amps?

  • @DeadlySinzzz It only models amps and effects, no recording. But it works as a plugin in most sequencers though!

  • salut!

  • @jose044 Salut! :-)

  • wow the overloud th2 sounds really good for leads. your playing is amazing too. congrats.! you are getting better.

any plans for a modern high gain lead tone test?

  • @TechcoreIsSexy Thanks a lot! Overloud sent me a list of topics but I'll see what I can do...

  • Great preset!! I tried to do kind of it with the eleven rack, but I just hate the eleven's chorus pedal, it does not have any good parameters.. I'll try again with the T.C. electronic in the FX loop.. I allways trying to emulate 80's hardrock sound but it's not easy, for example the lead800 has low gain to do this kind of soun d by it self, we have to had some pedal before the amp..

    Once again, great job!!

    Sounds really really nice!

    Salut!

  • @MatiazPdl Thanks man!

  • Cool Video....

.... but, dude, ... "Superstitious" was Kee Marcello playing. ;-)

  • @vidi74 Oh. Ooops! :-D

  • You really need to plug in a Les Paul or Strat, Dave, I keep telling you... :o)

  • @stoob1969 I know, I know... :-D

  • Sounds awesome!

  • @NotSoSuperJerk Thanks!

  • @NotSoSuperJerk

    Second!

  • hey dave, that intro riff sounds exactly like "Europe's - Superstitious" or do you already know that haha ?

  • @joesatriani1200rulez ah never mind haha i listened to the intro then posted the comment straight away haha soorryy dude, btw JOHN NORUM rocks, awesome vid tho man been looking for the 80's sound for ages

  • @joesatriani1200rulez Yeah, heavily inspired by it. :-D

  • @Wallimann ah awesome dude, cant beat 70's/ 80's hard rock and metal :D

  • Do the amps on these go to 11?

  • @pcdd11pj Hehe!

  • bring back the goatie no offence but clean shaven doesnt work for u

  • @towardstheshadows You sound like my wife! :-D

  • @Wallimann haha hey really its all about what she wants but u may find out that it effects ur playing style. petrucci has often joked that the longer his beard the heavier the music

  • Wow, you actually made the 80' sound to sound good... i bow to you, sir :)

  • @mariahkoko Credits should go to Overloud! :-)

  • I absolutely love TH2 for 80's tone, by far the best VST plugin IMO for Hard Rock sounds.

  • Hey Dave, is it possible you could do a video of your Boss DS-1 Distortion pedal? :) Lots of people are curious about it as it's one of the most mixed reviewed pedals on the market ( a lot of Love hate )

  • @pacrat90 Great idea! I will do that. :-)

  • -Great video- the shirt needs reevaluated:)

  • @tblues01 Hahaha! Thank you! :-)

  • great demo/tutorial, and the sound was awesome :-)

  • @schissgring Thanks!

  • this is getting more and more complexe...and more and more interesting !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @corporacionmonstruo Thanks for watching!

  • Dude you are a ProGuitarPlayer,

You use alot of Parker Guitars, and Im planing to buy one.

is the Parker DF524 to far (quality) to the others Parkers (like Fly Mojo)

    thanks

  • @oswa0714006 Thanks a lot buddy! I haven't tried any of the newer Parkers.

My Nitefly is about 15 years old and my Fly Deluxe is about 10 years old... I'm sorry I can't help that much!

  • YOU ARE THE MAN!

  • @MrReaperGuitarist Thanks man!

  • This is awesome! John Norum is the reason i began playing guitar.

  • @VesterDude He's great!

  • NICE! I like the first riff very much!

  • @Me7aLfAn Thanks!

  • Great tone!! Overloud made a good choice using you as an advertisement tool ;-)

  • @MyxHarnett Thank you! They are awesome to work for.

  • I'm getting dizzy when I look at all those pedals and options. I totally suck at getting a good tone. Staying with my amp only :-) And my Boss ME 70.

  • @NewMetallica Hehe! I know that feeling!

  • 3:22 sounds exactly like satch's surfing with the alien tone

  • Hey Dave. What effects software would you recommend for live use? I mostly play for church worship groups, so I don't need anything too "realistic". I'm currently using Guitar Rig 4 but was wondering if there was something better.

  • @cperalta92 I've used Guitar Rig live and liked it. You should try TH2's free demo too, I was very impressed by it!

  • yah i really love overloud for 80's high gain glam tones. it doesnt sound good with my neck pup but thats ok cause it screams with my bridge

  • @KainVKail I agree!

  • Amazing video! It really makes me want a copy of this.

  • @jnukes2 Thanks man!

  • good video to show people who just got th2. ive been using it since th1 and it's a really awesome program. the new cab features are pretty cool too. not sure if the tone was such an 80s rock tone, more fusiony...but then again you are wallimann :p lol

  • @kdoverock Hehe! Thank you man!

  • great video Wall looks very cool.

  • @chickenoncheese Thanks buddy. You should check out their demo!

  • @Wallimann in the description? really cool prog *thumbs up* seems simple to use too

  • Great! Just great :). This inspired me to have to do some tweaking in TH2 later hehe.

I also thought for a minute... Did you switch to contacts?... Then I noticed you had your glasses on when playing the guitar :). Take care buddy!

  • @udsahn Thanks man!

  • Very cool tones David! Always love your software demos, great editing. One question, is this video done with the Zoom Q3HD?

  • @EricMaldonadoMusic Thanks Eric, no, that was my Canon camcorder.

  • pedal doom!!!

  • Walli..If your gonna start throwing around hero names like Norum then at the very least you have to be willing to throw down The Final Countdown Solo!!

  • @CRANKYONE100 Haha! I know, but I decided not to for copyright reasons since this video will go on Overloud's site. :-)

  • Very well presented and helpful information. Thanks Overloud for hooking up Wallimann!

  • @TubePowered Thanks!

  • You either shaved, or did something different with your hair. Looks good, man. :3

    And loved the video too.

  • @MegaCalvinHobbes Shaved and let the hair down. :-D

  • ya yah, nice demo and all that.. what is the font you use in the beginning text..? no really, nice demo. ;)

  • @kabirnagranee Thanks man!

  • great demo!

  • @guitarnoize Thank you John!

  • nice tone you made dude, looking forward to the midi device video man!

  • @flamen89 To be honnest, Overloud made the tone. They asked me to present it. :-)

  • Parker guitars sound always teally thin. Maybe too thin to this. It's the first time I see that software, looks great!

  • @112358miau Thanks for watching! I agree on the thinness of my Fly Deluxe. That's why I often use the Nitefly which to me sounds richer...

  • ARE YOU KIDDING? JOHN NORUM! You and I were meant to be Walliman! How great was "Another Destination". That and various Pantera and whatnot got me through the 90's. I have to start releasing more videos because you're locked into my brain.

  • Ugh....Dang you. I'm about to release a series of "Heavy Tones".

  • @itowedin Awesome! :-D
