  • To put it simply, the most beautiful woman to ever walk this planet.

We were blessed with her presence.Let's never forget her.

  • Good portrait of Gene Tierney - today would have been her birthday

  • When she had a fling with young JFK, she said she didn't vote for him because "he didn't seem very presidential".

  • She was incredible! Absolutely gorgeous!!

  • wow this is beautiful :)

  • Gene Tierney is so beautiful ! Forever ! and she is with the angels since 1991 ! she's in Heaven ! Forever ! see you soon Gene Tierney !

  • Okay...I'm a female but damn this woman is hot!!!! She is gorgeous!!!

    Her eyes are piercing!!

  • @csmith0303 YESSSSSS omgosssh im a women too and when i saw the FILM LAURA i like fell in LOVE! lmaooooooo i dont care she, is SOOO ALLURING AND GORGEOUS AND JUST AAAAAAAH!....

  • Okay...I'm a female but damn this woman is hot!!!! She is gorgeous!!!

  • Wow! Just discovered this actress and she totally blew ava gardner and rita hayworth out from my number 1 spot of old hollywood actresses. Now my mission is to watch all her movies! Woow she has gorgeous eyes!

  • I thought that Grace Kelly was the most beautiful actress ever. But yesterday I saw Gene Tierney. Now I'm confused.

  • @Cleon29Warrior Check her out in a movie called "Laura" Now this is Doris singing this song !!! But you are right Gene was a beautiful gal !!

  • @jackierave I have only seen her in "Laura", but I plan to see much more of her movies.Sorry for grammar, I'm not from any English-language-country.

I know that question about film noir isn't for me, but I must say it's my favourite genre, although I hate to sort movies by genre.

  • @Cleon29Warrior Hey, your grammar is just fine. Try to see all that she did. She truly was amazing !! We have a Film Noir Festival here where I live and I can't afford to see all of them, but try to see a couple at least...... :)" The last one I saw as with John Saxon, when he was very young...... it was wonderful.

    But I love movies period.

  • @jackierave Man, I wish that where I live could be such a festival.

I'm planning to see "Whirlpool" and "Leave her to heaven" as soon as possible. What are your favourites with her? I would like some recomandetion.

  • @Cleon29Warrior Heaven Can Wait, The Ghost & Mrs. Muir......... even some that were not considered great.. she is so beautiful that and there is just something very neat about B& W. :)

  • @jackierave Definitely true. B&W is something special. Only on black&white screen you can see how much is good an actor or actress. Although G.T. is gorgeus no matter is it with or without colour.

    And thanks for recomandetions.

  • @Cleon29Warrior You are very welcome. I know you will enjoy them.......:)

  • She was quite ridiculously beautiful.

  • too bad about her mental state not much longer after she made Laura....totally the # 2 Film Noir greatest: Double Indemnity is first!

  • @spacely25 Ah, you like Film Noir? Aren't they great >

  • @ednuk No.

  • Gene Tierney is one of the best American Actor of all Time.

  • Oh Gene Tierney ... It's my eternal Love ... I can't live without her Divine Eyes ...!

  • DORIS DAY?................

  • yeah the singer is doris day...

  • @albamaria54 you don't know who Doris Day is?

  • What a lovely lady! Not a bad actress, either. Her autobiography is interesting but sad. She married Oleg Cassini & had a retarded daugher (& one healthy one). Fell in love with JFK in the late 1940s, she had a nervous breakdown. But her movies live on.

  • Such a wonderful tribute video to a lovely actress... great song and pics!!! <3

  • awesome beauty

  • I have just discovered her. What are her best movies or should I watch all of them?

  • @lizzyvance Heaven Can Wait (1942) Laura (1944) Leave Her To Heaven(1945) an Oscar nomination Best Actress, The Razors Edge(1946) Dragonwyk (1947) The Ghost and Mrs Muir (1947). That Wonderful Urge (1948), Whirlpool (1949), The Mating Season an ensemble comedy(1951) The Left Hand of God (1955)

  • She was very good in Laura, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. I like her in those movies. She was a real beauty in her times.

  • For someone (jemand, öpper) very special!!!

  • öpper? Swiss-German, gäll?

  • Out of them all, Gene Tierney is the one that is right up my street, time-warpwise!

Don't know why people go on about the rest of the usuals....

  • I think mostly all of the female stars back in the day had a certain appeal about them. They were all beautiful though, including Gene.

My favorites are : Hedy Lamarr, Susan Hayward, Linda Darnell, Ava Gardner, Jean Simmons, Myrna Loy, Jeanne Crain, and Vivien Leigh.

  • could not agree more

  • they had appeal cuz they left something to the imagination thats why brittny spears and jessica simpson will never be as hot

  • @jezus92191 Yep, I think it was Garbo that said, "you cant reveal all of yourself, that you cheapen yourself if you do."...something along those lines.

  • Words for such a woman?? wooow uufff

  • Gene had the most mysterious charm, and her eyes were

incomparably beautiful and, she was one of my most beloved actress .

  • I love Gene Tierney! I learned about her in the 70s when her autobiography was published. What a wonderful lady who eventually triumphed over some truly bad breaks. She was beautiful and so much more talented than she was given credit for. "Laura" is still my favorite movie, to this day... Thanks for the pictures!

  • You're right --that's a better comparison--there's just something about the eyes that reminded me of Priscilla

  • plus priscilla is now unrecognizable...she's like a botox monster...tierney was beautiful...didnt needed any retouch...her personality & beauty stayed intact to people's eyes until her death...r.i.p..ms tierney, nobody like you ;)

  • Oh J'ADORE THIS! fits my rainy mood today here in sweden...

  • Wet have alot of rainy days here in Ireland too ,and not jusy because we have bad governement

  • Shes so beautiful id wish i could see her in the flesh!!

  • Alas that is no longer a possibility,Gene has returned from whence Gene came, but we are so lucky to have the legacy Gene left of extraordinary work, life, beauty and love

  • The perfect actress! The most beautiful eyes the world ever known!

  • great post--both Gene Tierney and the great Les brown number--Am I nuts or does Gene Tierney remind anyone else of Priscilla Presley?

  • In a way, but Gene Tierney had a mesmerizing aura about her - which Priscilla does not, I'm afraid. She's a beauty, but cannot compare to Gene.

  • Not really.More Jacyln Smith to me.

  • who sung this?

  • 1945 song by the Les Brown orchestra with Doris Day as vocalist

  • Doris Day SANG it.

  • What a classic beauty. :) I love this song!

  • Yummy.

  • Is this the sexiest woman ever was or what?

  • yeah, . . . well, part of it, here, is simply a little used pose, and the background in raw nature

  • @JackAwful

    she's pretty hot

  • @JackAwful Her and Ava Gardner are my favs

  • Thanks!

  • She's so wonderful.Love her movies Laura and

The Ghost and Mrs Muir! Thanks for sharing this vid!

  • Saw Laura, she's a 10 in it, good detective story

  • Such a stunning Irish beauty! So underrated- a truly gorgeous woman, and a great actress. I loved her in "Laura" and "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir"- great acting! Yet she never had the acclaim that other actresses of her era got. Lana, Lauren, Ava- they had the studios backing them. I think Gene got jipped. Patrick

  • Let's not leave out her unforgettable role in "Leave Her to Heaven".

  • O my God- you're right! That scene when she's in the rowboat and watches the boy drown- that look on her face! It gives you chills! She's acting like a true sociopath- she really was great in that picture!

  • l une des plus belle actrices des année 40

  • nice photos

  • i love that movie the egyptian!

  • The most beautiful actress of all time. A real class act.

  • i think so too the most beautiful actress ever but she wasnt as famous or popular as she deserved

  • What a talent, what a beauty.

  • Yikes! What a babe!!!!!!

  • Very nice tribute to a lovely lady!

  • she was in and out of instrutuons most of her movie career

  • Actually her career started 1938 on Broadway when she was 17 yrs old. 1940 film career starts at 20 yrs old. She did not go into hospital until 1956. She had bouts of depression which we now know she was bi-polar episodes.

  • I am in the autum of my years, but was stopped in NY two times and was told I looked like her....I had to do research and

I had no idea who she was....she is turly amazingly beautiful....It was a compliment to me...(the lady with the depression ? that was "Scarlett" thank you the video/music.

  • You look like Gene Tierney? Well perhaps I should properly introduce myself.

  • How beautiful she was nothing like the old timer's the very best. boy do i miss them all.

  • Just magnificent! Thank you so much! She was amazing and no one today even comes close. You're so talented!

  • She's THE MOST beautiful woman who's ever lived.

  • @thelastvampire1982 Sorry! Liz Taylor in her prime..and with the violet eyes

  • @billeagle51 I love Liz but no one can compare to Ava Gardner.

  • @janaysayqua U got me their because I was struggling with Ava Gardner as my No. 1 when I wrote my posting..Gorgeous woman. But I will stay with Liz as No. 1..and No. 2 Ava..and my No 3 would be Linda Darnell..in that order. Liz.. I can't help those sensual eyes..Ava..dam and outright sexy woman..another one would be Jane Russell..hunk of woman..

  • @billeagle51

    1. Gene Tierney 2. Catherine Deneuve 3. Salma Hayek 4. Anouk Aimee 5. Alida Valli 6. Monica Vitti 7. Pam MOTHERFUCKING Grier, 8. That chick from Planet of the Apes 9. Joan Chen 10. *tie Claudine Auger, Barbara Steele, Greta Garbo, Edwige Fenech, Kathleen Turner, Lauren Bacall, Jennifer Connelly, Eva Mendez, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Maggie Cheung, Sophia Loren, Racquel Welch, Elke Summer, Ingrid Bergman, and the lead actresses from both Cat People movies.

  • @kives1985 Good picks..I really have to say..especially Kathleen Turner in her prime..wow, she was nice. Also, Raquel Welch..Man! U got me!! Really Good picks..but I still say Liz..I love Eyes..and that woman has the eyes..Hands Down for me Liz Taylor!! If she looked at me with those eyes, I wouldn't know what to do with myself. Hey! what about Gina Lollobrigida in her prime?

  • @thelastvampire1982 you've seen them all?

  • @thelastvampire1982 That's a big statement...but you just may be right! ;0)

  • @thelastvampire1982 Beautiful yes. But the most beautiful woman ever hovered over this planet was Ms Talluulah Brockman Bankhead, the one and only. A archangel without wings - a Goddess !.

  • She is a babe.

  • That is Doris Day singing.

  • she was very beautiful didnt she have really bad depression? and was hospitalized for it?

  • my teacher was singing dis song and lovs it like heck!

  • Keira Knightley and Michelle Pfeiffer are the modern day contenders... Thank you for intoducing her...she is beautifull

  • Well maybe Michelle.. but Keira too bony and big time potty mouth, lol! Yes, I know Lombard but we didn;t have to listen to her vulgariites.

  • She is a babe plus she sounds soooo good.

  • im playing that in jazz band right now and were going way faster then that

  • Yeah! That's the the 78rpm I remember played after WW-2 my mom & uncle played when grown-ups had Saturday partys in Croatia. Les Brown Orch & Doris Day are the ones,& could be no mistake. Ya Gods; what times were there for a good ol' squesseing dancing !! Gone are the days of wine & roses.

  • If they're gone, you're not looking hard enough. I refuse to believe they're gone and I am but 19!

Look harder my frined, and if you still don't find what you seek, become what you seek.

  • I so agree!

  • eine grosse schauspielerin!

  • Auf die Melodie gab es eine Parodie-Fassung: "Stellt Euch vor, wir hätten was zu smoken, Chesterfield or Lucky Strike..."

  • Absolutely one beautiful face!

  • it never ceases to freak me out how much i look like her...

  • Very nice video and never saw Gene in the later days> why did such a beautiful woman have a man's name? Oh! Well, who cares. Glad she didn't wear braces, the overbite added to her looks. And the music. I love this one. This is one my Dad used to play on the piano and I would always sing along with him. Love it! Thanks!

  • She was named after an Uncle who died young.

  • Gene comes from Eugenia! Famous eugnia was Empress of France.

  • I LOVE YOU GENE!!! SEE YOU IN MY DREAMS!

  • Never mind the pictures...it's the background music...gotta be Les Brown and Doris Day back in 1944.fabulous..... memory evoking...army days...overseas...the whole bit...in colour...
