Markie Post was so hot!!! There's another video of her on Pyramid wearing a hot black dress... Dick Clark and Barry Jenner couldn't get enough of her! Neither could I..
Now, if I'm not mistaken, this was the second-to-last week of episodes to be rerun on USA Network and Raarrow, before you correct me, GSN did not rerun this episode from this week. But I hope your health is improving greatly.
Because people back then were getting confused with the two versions, particularly when Cullen's version started being rerun again in the middle of the decade (even though both versions have different sets, theme music, and hosts), so they put the word new on the title for about 2 years.
I don't know if it's either September 27 or September 29, 1983 even though it says show #0267. Either this week, the Rita Moreno/Michael Spound week or the Shelly Smith/Bill Cullen week should be the final week of episodes to have the backwall remain blue throughout the WC playings.
Correction nextbarker: VTR: Sept. 11, 1983 but PYL took over CP's slot. The 1983-84 season started with Child's Play closing its series but Body Language didn't start until the very end of the '83-'84 season.
This is the Tuesday episode of the second week of the second season of The $25K Pyramid. GSN aired the Monday episode in late April-early May 2000, and then went back to airing from the very first 1982 episode. I don't think they had converted the episodes quite yet to the digital format.
"I don't think they had converted the episodes quite yet to the digital format. "
It looks like they have now, though. Promos for the show from 2002 featured clips from October 1983 episodes, and now we're getting 1985-1986 episodes of "The New $25,000 Pyramid"!
I have seen this on GSN before..the just don't make game shows like this anymore!! (case in point, Merv Griffin's Crosswords and the "new" Family Feud)
It might be from episode #0267, but the latest 1983 episode GSN aired was the Monday episode from the Markie Post/Richard Kline week(September 26, 1983), after that episode, they rewinded back to the $25K Pyramid debut from 9/20/82 with Constance McCashin and Robert Mandan as the first female/male celebrities of the $25K Pyramid. I can't believe GSN aired the Audrey Landers/Charlie Siebert week either.
It debuted in January 1984. 2 weeks of shows prior to this one, Harry Anderson (then on "Cheers") said to watch for him on a new sitcom called "Night Court".
It debuted on very early January of 1984, which explains why some of the S1 eps. had a 1983 copyright at the end of some of the closing credits on S1 of Night Court.
And NC was also one of the very last shows to use the Warner Bros. "Big '// (W)" logo in the end credits as well.
The two angular archways on both sides of the big Pyramid seemed to be farther away from it than before. Maybe, they wanted the Pyramid to be seen a bit more?
That was from the 8th week of shows with Barbara Bosson & Barry Gordon, which was also when the show was renamed "The New $25,000 Pyramid".
Also, on the week of shows that came right before this one, (w/Audrey Landers & Charles Siebert), they debuted the flashback intros and the white, wiggling winner's circle trilons.
OVER 2 year, they removed the word NEW in 1985.

Why was this called the new $25000 pyramid when it had been shown before with Bill Cullen?
eshaw2115 2 years ago
Because people back then were getting confused with the two versions, particularly when Cullen's version started being rerun again in the middle of the decade (even though both versions have different sets, theme music, and hosts), so they put the word new on the title for about 2 years.

Mike Farrell did the $25K, Linville did either the 10K or 20K, Alda did the 10K.... Let's face it, M*A*S*H was prominent on the Pyramid.

He should've. "M*A*S*H" was on during the 80s. Jamie Farr did it.
