We had a Japanese exchange student in the high school a few years ago. When she saw the movie PEARL HARBOR she became upset and angry. She told her friends from school that the film was a lie, that such an event never happened.

When she tearfully called her parents in Tokyo to complain, her mother quietly admitted that indeed, Japan was responsible for the sneak attack that launched WWII in the Pacific.

Like the Rape of Nanjing, Japanese schoolchildren simply don't know the truth.

The historical record shows that the US had knowledge of the planned attacks on Pearl Harbor. Schools in the US don't explain this, nor do they explain why the Japanese declared war in the first place.

Why did the US get involved in WWI, after several years of the public being so against it?  The historical record also shows that communication was made between the US and Germany that the Lusitania was full of ammunition, and where it was sailing (directly into the 'no sail zone' of the Germans)

In any case, I was simply stating my understanding of what happened in WWII. I am not a conspiracy theorist, I do not believe that the American government "did" 9-11. It was simply my understanding that FDR was *aware* an attack might come on Pearl Harbor, and used that attack to get involved in the war. That really isn't that farfetched, or even crazy controversial.

There are many reasons as to why Japan attacked Pearl harbour but there is only one major reason which is to do with American intervention in Japanese affairs. One of these was where the US prohibited exports of steel, scrap iron and fuel to Japan because of the takeover of northern Indochina. Another reason was when Japan took over the rest of Indochina and the US once again took action. This time they made oil unavailable to the Japanese, making both their air force and navy completely useless

Because of all of this invention by America, the Japanese military decided that they had to get rid of the Pacific fleet because the Americans would surely intervene and cause them more trouble. Once this was done they could start their war plan to take over Burma, Malaya, the East Indies, and the Philippines.

America was attacked by the Japanese on DEC7 and Italy and Germany declared war on the US on December 11th. Most Americans were isolationist at the time and FDR was able to get us involved in defending Europe from Hitler because of what occurred on the 7th and 11th of DEC. But the idea that FDR secretly manufactured these events to trick the US into war is Conspiracy Theory garbage at best. Whats next? When did I say 'manufactured'? I never said manufactured. I just said, it was my understanding that FDR was *aware* it would happen, and allowed it to, since it would get us out of our isolationist stance and give us an excuse to go to war in Europe. It makes sense, and wouldn't be the first time the US government has doctored events a little better to achieve our foreign policy goals.
