This game was a range of emotions. Iowa's Defense beat the snot out of LSU for most of the game and then let them back in near the end. I was getting pissed near the end and that last play was epic. My 91 year old grandfather jumped out of his chair so high I thought he was having some sort of medical issue. LOL.

I'm an Iowa fan. But I love watching LSU play. But I don't understand how Les Miles can't get clock management corrected. The Outback and Capital One Bowl are two of the best non-BCS Bowl games. Nothing better than Big Ten vs. SEC.

Penn state was only at "the doorstep" because lsu kept turning over the fucking ball. Lsu defence held penn state out of the endzone except for one pass where lsu defender bit and got beat. Other than that they had to go for 4 field goals.

Iowa dominated the whole game, BrandonAdom. It was more luck that LSU managed to drive down the field and score in the final minute rather than that Iowa could regain the lead (that really should have been theirs anyway).
QB didn't have anything to do with it....maybe if our kicker could kick and we didn't have a couple of chokes from senior receiver(s), we would have won that game by 10, rather than lost it by 3 in OT.

It was back when there were two polls, one from the AP and the other the pre-cursor of the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll (then called the FWPA). It was the only poll after the bowls and Iowa was declared the National Champions after their romp in the Rose Bowl.
yeah Iowa got the National Champ in 58, but they were also declared the National Champion in 1921, 1922, and I believe 1939 when the current system at the time voted on who was the best team in the nation, which a lot of people do not know about. I still only really count the one in 1958 though

What are you talking about? Iowa was 9-4 and LSU was 8-5 last year. Since 2003 Iowa is 3-1 vs. the SEC. That includes two blowout wins. Iowa usually plays well in their bowl games!

Iowa dominated the whole game, BrandonAdom. It was more luck that LSU managed to drive down the field and score in the final minute rather than that Iowa could regain the lead (that really should have been theirs anyway).

lol....I won't poor your comment....you guys did win against us when we were starting our back up quarterback in his first ever start, AT OSU, and our 4th string RB who was just coming back off an ankle injury....If we were full strength we woulda won, simple as that......but that being said, we didn't end up winning...but that game showed the character of Iowa, and that effort was enough for me to be ok with the outcome, not happy, but ok...and i dont hate OSU, i hate their arrogent fans.......

It was back when there were two polls, one from the AP and the other the pre-cursor of the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll (then called the FWPA). It was the only poll after the bowls and Iowa was declared the National Champions after their romp in the Rose Bowl.

yeah Iowa got the National Champ in 58, but they were also declared the National Champion in 1921, 1922, and I believe 1939 when the current system at the time voted on who was the best team in the nation, which a lot of people do not know about. I still only really count the one in 1958 though

What are you talking about? Iowa was 9-4 and LSU was 8-5 last year. Since 2003 Iowa is 3-1 vs. the SEC. That includes two blowout wins. Iowa usually plays well in their bowl games!
