I find it funny that there was a "Chicken Curse" in Columbia; in Osaka, Japan there is the "Curse of the Colonel" where their baseball team the Tigers haven't won a title in 20 years. It's where overzealous fans crashed a KFC joint and dumped a statue Col Sanders which looked like an American import player into a river. Thus, their pro team the Hanshin Tigers have been cursed; sounds like the curse of the Bambino, huh?

Football game average attendance = 83,000

Football is king. Football is what matters.

@gvillegmcck 3,000 and up is max capacity for a lot of baseball programs in D1. College Football expands to 83,000 or more because the people go to see a lot of tackling going on. College Baseball is so much purer, no one gets paralyzed in baseball like how Eric LeGrand did in football. . Baseball is the 2nd toughest sport next to Women's fast pitch softball because of the mound is different. Try hitting a 90mph heater with movement, and face junk pitches with movement.

@DnaAngel33 And Clemson fans don't like to talk about the fact that they had to cheat their asses off in the 70's and 80's to gain most of that lead. Besides, this is a 'what have you done for me lately world' and lately the Gamecocks have handed the Cheaters....err.....Tigers their asses in just about every sport known to man. 34-17, 29-7, sent ClemRon packing and went on to win the National Title, and just took the best 2 out of 3 again from Clemson this season. Taters don't talk about that.

DeeSkywalker, the Gamecock football team has never been ranked #1. We rose to #2 in 1984 before losing to Navy. Oddly enough, on that same day, the #1 team (I believe it was Nebraska) also lost that day, meaning we would have been #1 had we beaten Navy.

Anyway, his facts are wrong. We've never been ranked #1.
