LOL, So I have to go through 3 books and thousands of pages for her to stop walking down obviously dangerous allies, threatening suicide over little shit, getting rescued from shit she could have avoided or read another mind-numbingly contrived set-up made for Edward to rescue her from?
WOW. Three books worth of shit to get to an actual heroine. Yeah, I'll get right on that.
umm it actually shows a dramatic change int he character, and in the story the damsel in distress stories have alwasy been present in movies all time, though i don't agree with it, she like any person becomes stronger making it realistic. Its not anyone can change overnight and I know you can agree with that.
Your thought is that DID is a character flaw and not simply a historically sexist interaction between Western male authors and women.
DID isn't a character aspect. Nothing about her character influenced nearly getting hit by a car. Or almost-raped. Or chased by Mean Vampire.
And, like I said, if I have to go through 2 books to see any character development in this girl, I'm sorry. Speaking of character, didn't she have any goals in life outside of this man she'll kill herself for?
LOL i don't think she really wanted to do anything with her life besides just going on with life just for the heck of it, before she met Edward. Anyways just read the books, i think the last one isn't to great, but you gotta understand that the character they want girls to enjoy the most is EDWARD lol
I'm glad you get that she was a blank, boring person with no reason exist except to love a man and no reason to love him except that he saved her life repeatedly from contrived disaster, half of which she could have avoided if she had common sense.
Which is why I call the books sexist. Which is why I ain't gonna read them (anymore).
Matt and Nat....I'm talking about your description for this video when I ask "Who the fuck is Sarah Meyer?" Nat if you're supposedly the Twilight junkie....how could you totally miss this? It's STEPHANIE Meyer! C'mon guys, you're better than that!
Twilight is like a remake of the romance of Buffy and Angel. It doesn't look terribly exciting at all, but I'll probably go to see it in the dollar theatre. I'm just dying for BSG to start again!
I haven't read the book but the previews for this movie remind me of a bizarro world of Smallville. It looks cheezy but the reviews sound so good so I may go see it.
And OMG Matt did you just say there is going to be ANOTHER star trek movie. I'm a trekky from way but but seriously!!!! Another movie! What could it possibly be about. hahahahaha Nemisis was pretty good and the borg one was ok too... but as long oas it's the new cast and not the old trek one.
from the new star trek trailer i've seen, the new star trek movie looks pretty good, i am also a trekkie as well as galacti-goer, or whatever BSG fans are known as. lol.
I'm so glad you guys decided to comment on this one.
Matt, you are pretty close with your Roswell analysis. I'd say it's closer to that than any vampire film. But you really need to read the books because they were incredible.
Nat, I'm with you in your hopes that the movie is good and we get to see the entire series placed on film. I mean, how cool would Jacob's character "development" look on screen?!
I can't wait for your review of this film and the Trek trailer. Thanks again, guys!
not a typical vampire film, as they said? that's seems clear as i generally avoid them but THIS one i am definitely going to view. saw a few ads around & became very interested. thanks for the posting. (o:
Weird how a mormon portrays people. They have no concept of how we interact and behave. Especially the second one for what I hear.

Girl power?
Bella falls for Ed because he saves her over and over again. I've never seen one girl be Damsel in Distress so many times in one story.

have you read the last book, she isn't a damsel in distress....she actually plays a significant part is more "girl power" than you think

Yeah, it is a little over-hyped but it was a decent movie. 2.5 stars

Seriously, am I the only person who hated this film?
Don't get me wrong, the books were alright, but not as good as all the hype made them out to be.

No, you are not.
I don't really get forbidden love when no one is forbidding it. XD
