Vestal and Howard are HILARIOUS in this video! Howard's hand motions while playing are even gut-wrenching hysterical! Was surprised to know the guy singing with them is a Johnny Minnick--I have a brother "Jonnie Minnich" too-- but our last name of Minnich has the "h" instead of a "k". My "Jonnie" goes by Jon now though--I think my sister and I are the only ones permitted to still call him Jonnie from time to time;)

Johnny Minnick was with Howard and Vestal off and on for about 30 years. He loved Rusty's songs and singing and got hooked up with them when he was quite young. Johnny is Dr. Minnick and a pastor at his church in Smyrna, Tenn. He's a really good one too!!! His church is really heavy on the music but he always has a great message too. He's a gentle man of God.

Hearing the Goodmans sing always reminds me of my childhood. On Sunday mornings my dad would go to the local bakery and buy donuts, come back make fresh coffee and wake us all up to watch a gospel music show from Florida called JUBILEE. I always stood mesmerized by the old B/W TV waiting for the Goodmans. I WOULDN"T TAKE NOTHING FOR MY JOURNEY NOW!!!!

I remember discovering the Happy Goodmans when I was a teenager in the 70s, I was blown away, you can't listen to the Goodmans and not feel happy.

I am no longer a Christian don't even believe in god anymore but the joy I felt as a teenager when listening to them has remained. Hey, maybe there's hope for me after all : )
