  • very nice! I love how you opened the door and the sound just came roaring out. You're also not one of those guys that covers up the mic because he thinks his viewers will not appreciate the extra loud noise of the server rack. It's a beautiful noise (wipes a tear)

  • Oooooohhh Purdy!!!!

  • You must get migraines.

  • Sheesh, two words: MANUAL FOCUS.

  • I like the dehumidifier idea with a ceiling fan circulating the air. It just seems a little strange seeing air being pumped out, but no air being pumped in. Is there an air vent to allow air in? If so, is that air being filtered somehow? I'm thinking of doing something like this soon, but with less hardware and a smaller closet.

  • whats the need you never heard of yahoo mail?

  • @BlackGoldEstates These equipment are used for commercial purposes. These servers, most are used for processing many clients emails. Four of them are DNS servers. My goal is to grow to eventually become a full hosting company.

  • i can see thise SGI machine on your rack. is that running Autodesk system softwares? because here on our site back days we're using SGI system before autodesk switching to HP x800 workstations.

  • @AldyWaani Currently SGI servers are installed with Windows Server 2003 and deal only with Mdaemon mail since it allows the full integration of BlackBerry's Enterprise and Push Mail technologie. Soon, new servers will be installed with Linux for other needs in email. Good day!

  • Hello, wut are those network cables for? why so many of them? care to enlighten us?

  • obvious question:

does the screech of the kit stop you sleeping?

  • @ukmale4 Hello, before moving into a new house the noise kept me from sleeping as it was in a small room next to my bedroom but now it's in the basement and in the garage so I do not hear it for now.

  • im sorry to say, but there is too much red leds lit in your data center..

  • これはなぁに~わかるかたいますか?

  • KU

  • wow..i can just sit there and watch the lights blink all night ..fascinating

  • @HyperwebTechnologies what kind of websites do you host ?

a 50/50 connection isn't slow if you get too much traffic on those sites.?

  • XP+WHS+WS2K3=WIN!

  • and you have successfully relapsed your funase. this is nice dude

  • 3:27 BLINKEN LIGHTS!!!!

  • nice home network

  • Орет, как тепловоз!

  • The matrix control center !

  • Good job!

  • Also loving the cabling. I love wires and flashing lights lol..

  • I am so glad i'm not the only one who thinks it's great to run this in the house. ;-) flipping brilliant.

  • What are your throughput specs and how much did u initially invest in this buisness, did you get a loan?

  • sounds like thousands of bee's lol

  • Is it me or are dell server louder than HP servers. Maybe it's just the pitch.

  • Ur just burning coal to see blinky lights, most of the ports on the top switches are EMPTY!

  • Reupload the video next time turn the Tornado off :D

  • idk about you guys but i cant hear shit any more!

  • Time for some solar panels! What do you use this datacenter for?

  • How mutch does it cost to run this per month, and what is your power rate (cents per kw)? Also, that is one hell of a setup, how many tb on your main file server?

  • Comment removed

  • but will it blend?

  • Nice setup, one of the better ones I've seen on YouTube

And people about the noise that's actually normal how quiet so u think a server room is ? it needs to be cooled well which means case fans & AC units on high usually 24/7

  • where is that noise coming from?

  • @lapulapu12345 Probably the case fans & the AC unit

  • @TylertheGeek28 by the way, nice system there

  • So.. Why you even need all this? :D I have pretty mainstream network gear and 100/100 fiber connection and it's pretty much enough for me.. and also one poor raid 5 nas.

  • Why do you need 4 servers for the DNS?

  • weres the jumbo jet taking off cos its thats loud

  • I wish that I could have a setup like this at my home. Alas, it is to small :-(

  • Comment removed

  • Also try using the revers on that celing fan, the reverse is usually used to heat the room in the summer but since your running an a/c you can also use it to cool a room try it and see if it works better in cooling that room because heat rises and that cool air will cool the air that is higher up

  • Great server room and good job with cable management you can also reduce the temprature by using energy efficent light bulbs because they dont emit as much heat and install a automatic room switch to turn them on when you walk in the room it will save tons of money. I saw you have 4 UPS systems by ApC there newer models last longer and save energy. I wish you were in colorado i love supporting good networks like that one.

  • What are the hp things that are sitting vertically and have the ethernet cables coming out? Whay do they do? And what is the model so I can look it up.

  • Very good

  • @Thetrutv Thank you! Regards.

  • Do you know what i hear?, Power bill... lol

  • the best rack system ive seen thus far

  • @jean2719 Thank you! Regards.

  • thats alot of noise

  • lol are you already utilizing virtualization? Looks like your running low on real estate in there.

  • How much upload do you get for $260/month? I have a full 10/10 for about $600 comes with a class C 255 IP addresses which I subnet using VLSM any way I want.

  • mother of god :o

  • I just want to set up some server like yours but the whole row of my house must blacked out for sure :) lol

  • @2fzweb Average 300$ each month.

  • How much you pay for energy? o.O

  • Why is the fault light on at 0:37 on the HP ProCurve Switches

  • @karlsruheprotestful Hello, there are 3 fan inside the swith with one of them is dead. Regards.

  • @HyperwebTechnologies

on those 4000m/8000m switch you can peal off the sticker on the center of the fan and there is a small rubber plug that can be pulled out so you can service the fan with a little 3in1 oil and most of the time the fans will start working again.

    cheers,

    inetd

  • um... this is more impressive than my dual pentium pro compaq proliant 2500 server. not by much though.

  • Ew, PIX. Kill it.

  • I'm deaf now. :-/

    How inconvenient.

  • you can save energy by turning off the ventilator and calculating how many watts of power the servers consume and turn into Btu, with this calculation you may be reducing the ambient room temperature to 21 ° C (recommended)

  • @minimovzEt Thank you for your comment

  • I like the setup, just not the fault lights. I for one can appreciate activity lights (lots of them) but how about a run down on the hardware in a new vid?

  • How did you buy the SGI servers? Those make a nice sound....

  • LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • omfg.. very impressive setup!!

  • lok it up tite !

  • excuse me... how much does it cost for about the 2 internet connections and about elect. bill?

    yhanks

  • @pippomanca: A single Internet line (Full 50mb./sec.) costs $260 per month with only one static ip address. You must calculate $20 (per month) per additional IP addresses. The electricity account associated with my equipment is about $300 per month.

  • @HyperwebTechnologies 8-9K $/year just for connects and keep stuff power on... here in italy probably twice or three time... I will never have a data center in my basement :P

I couldn't explane bills like this to my family...

  • @HyperwebTechnologies What the hell? Why is it that expensive? I currently have a 200/200 connection for E95 a month, or about $120 (located in the Netherlands). It only has 1 static IP, true, but $260 for 50/50 seems awfully expensive.

  • very impressive , I just have one question: why? Is it because you can or you really use that much, my house just has one cable modem and a wireless router for maybe 15 computers, just curious

  • @chrisd4524 : Hello, I use all the equipment for commercial purposes. In data centers, all must be doubled to ensure uninterrupted service. That is why there are several routers that relay the data. If one goes down, another takes over. If a server does not respond, another takes over into the cluster without interruption. Such equipment is quickly becoming big if you want to provide good service to your customers.

  • @HyperwebTechnologies fascinating

  • let's virtualize this in on a big fat Dell Eight Core Proc and 64gigs of RAM and VMWare ESXI. Saves you a lot of electricity.....

  • You should get another Cooling unit for redundancy and to keep it cooler ;)

  • @mathieupoussin: yes it should be a 2nd air conditioner for the redundancy but now the size of the room does not allow it. It is an old converted storeroom.

  • What was the fault on your Procurve switch ?

  • @mathieupoussin There are 3 fans into the unit and one is failed.

  • Impressive setup! Sounds like it's bloody loud.

Is 24Degrees the best temperature for this sort of gear?

  • @pauliodotcom: The ideal temperature is between 20 and 22 degrees but my air conditioner can not go below 24 or 25 degrees (It is not powerful enough). I would have to install a water-cooled air conditioner.

  • @HyperwebTechnologies I run my companies datacenter at 26 Degrees saves a lot of power and is better for the HDD life
