i don't even like the idea of a microcell because at&t is too damn cheap to fix the network, so they'll take THEIR customer's money, to buy a device that uses the customers broadband connection, witch they'll have to pay for, just to get a decent signal in their own home because at&t is only in it for money and doesen't care about the 3g coverage area.
So... you're blaming this on the Microcell? Vut your wife's BlackBerry Bold 9700 works fine: sounds like your iPhone is part the problem, not just the Microcell.
Classic! I was at a company last year that had VOIP issues, and we too used the Wells Fargo automated system to get a stream of sound coming back at us. It just makes me wonder how many of the calls they get are for system test (rather than banking) purposes. : )
I had the same issues, man. Your solution is simple....turn off the Wi-Fi & Location Services on your iPhone via Settings & you'll be flawless, more or less. ;-)
Yes same issue...I have IPhone 4 and if I initiate a call away from the microcell unit it's very garbled and even if I go back into the range...the person can't hear me as well! What a crazy situation! I'm glad I got a 100 rebate or I'd be fuming!
I don't have this as a problem. I do find that I have to reboot the MicroCell every few days, though. I'll come back home, and what remains is the terrible network connection that I got before the Microcell.
As I understand the MicroCell (I'm in Australia), it's a CDMA device that allows you to use your broadband connection to connect, yes ? This would obviously be affected by others using your broadband connection and/or general network traffic. That said, turning off the 3G data would allow full bandwidth for the call and not share it with data.
These would be brilliant devices over here if they were digital (we closed CDMA years ago)

my iPhone 4 & 3Gs does the exact same thing on our M-Cell ... when we're just 15 - 20 feet away from the device. Glad to see I'm not the only one.

I have the exact same problem. Worked great on the 3GS, but on my iPhone 4, it's unusable.
