Looking forward to the Windies finding this aggression again, particularly against Australia (I am Aussie by the way). I completely agree with you. It's just not cricket and I don't mean that facetiously. Cricket still means something more than sport to many people and I think a bit more decency and understanding is called for from fans as well as players.
Let's respect great cricketers for what they are or were on the field and leave it at that.

It takes a bigger man to stand up and say the other man was simply better than us. He was with a cherry in his hand. That's how I felt about the Siddle hat trick. That hurt me through to the bone, but you have to put your hand up and say well done. Too much hate on cricket boards. Shame for the great game.

Sledging has no place in cricket. Australians can give, but cannot take. Michael Clake was so afraid after the split with Lara Bingle that someone would sledge him about him. Yes he did, but so did Curtly Ambrose. They are two of the greatest players ever.
Warne reckoned that Ambrose was the third best player of their generation and I respect his opinion (on cricket anyway).
Ambrose did also get 7-1 once against the Aussies some time in the 90s (can't remember exactly when) - tell me that's not genuine class.

Awesome bouncer. Ambrose usually bowled within himself, about 80-85 mph, using his long fingers make the ball dart about almost like a spin bowler, but, he had the ability to crank up the pace whenever he felt like it.

So after the first bouncer Steve told him "why don't u go n get fucked" for that Curtly fumingly came towards him n said "don't cuss me maaan". Steve initiated the verbal thing in this test n he paid heavily after this in that particular series. They lost the series and Curtly was named "Man of the Series".

Looking forward to the Windies finding this aggression again, particularly against Australia (I am Aussie by the way). We love to see this intensity against the Australian team, too many teams are not tough enough on Australia and they cruise through too many matches. More of this would challenge the current lot and maybe just give them a higher status with the fans, like Waugh, Boon, Jones, Warne, McGrath, enjoyed.

Are you serious? Steve Waugh was renowned for saying nothing and being cool under pressure, which was why he was called the iceman. Curtley ambrose came and wanted to have words and waugh told him to jog on. Waugh now operates several charities. One operates in India. He turned down a lucrative IPL job this year because he was too busy with them. Anyone who questions his integrity has no idea and should never comment on cricket or steve waugh ever again.

I know one of his charities supports the leppar's in India which no one would want to help so it reflects on how great Steve Waugh is....On another note, Curtley Ambrose will remain as one of my all time favourite players...What a bowler...

Who sent 2 billion dollars for the tsunami, Australians (Lilee I think) worked with Vaas and other sri lankans to make them competitive. Men like Fred hollows, peace keeping in the solomon Islands, E Timor, fiji. CA supporting the victims of Haiti ... do other countries do this on the same scale? I doubt it.

Yeah he is only one of the best bats Australia ever produced, probably the best captain ever, definitely the most sucessful captain in the history of the game, He has an order of Australia (like being knighted), he has since set up 2 charities and turned down IPL coaching gigs in the past because he was too busy. He stated in his autobiography that he told Ambi "to fuck off" - up to that point Ambi had said nothing to him. Ambrose replied "Don't cuss me man" and that's when Richie pulled him away.

Refer to my above comment as to why you're a moron. As for catches hitting the ground, Carl Hooper in an ODI against Australia in roughly 1995 claimed a half volley off his own bowling. When it was turned down he blew up and was pissed off that he wasn't believed, until he saw the footage afterwards, which clearly showed it bouncing. Is Carl Hooper a cheat because he made one mistake? As I pointed out earlier Waugh has a Order of Australia because of his charity work, what has Ambrose done?
