  • @selenabritroma Yes, it is Jack Nicholson. This is a clip from _Psych-Out_, in which Nicholson plays Stoney (the leading role), whose band is on the same bill. Wolfman Jack is just the voice you hear at the beginning.

  • Don't drop the blue acid: it'll be a bad trip

  • hey I seen a old psychotropic movie with a performance of S.A.C. Who knows the title? I remember a scene of a couple on lsd fucking in a pool verrrry slooooooowly

  • @sgtRaper I think I mixed 2 movies cause S.A.C. performed in 2 movies and the scene I talk about is not there...I seen this rare movie like 10 years ago, drunk and high, and i can't remember the title... Someone can help me?

  • This is as 60's as you can get

  • Did I see Jack nicholson ?

  • @BIGPREZY problaly, the video is taken from the movie psych out starred by jack nicholson.

  • @BIGPREZY This is from the film, "Psych-Out," starring Jack Nicholson.

  • Is that Wolfman Jack doing the intro? Wow, memories...

  • Incense And Peppermints - Strawberry Alarm Clock [Santa Barbara, California] - No.01 on 10/14/1967. 14 weeks Top 40 - "CLASSIC Rocker for the flower children." - Nuggets: Original Artyfacts From The First Psychedelic Era (Disc 2)-1998. NOTE: The first LP released by the band and the only LP of their career to make an impact on the album charts, it reached #1 nationally. PS: It was a Pleasant surprise to hear Wolfman Jack on the opening.

  • I can see him.

  • More LSD, & definitely MORE COWBELL!

  • my parent still grove to this. they were huge hippies along time ago.

  • 1:12 looks just like Jack Nicholson

  • It is actually! This is from the 1968 Camp movie "Psych Out".

  • Hmmm, been a long time since I last heard the voice of Wolfman!

  • Far Out Man...........

  • I don't do drugs.. just weed.

  • Roll me another full on joint for fuck's sake pal, I'll just kick back and relax to this !!!

  • When I heard this song for the first time, I could have ran down the street naked. Fair dinkum, talk about psychedlic music.

  • It's never too late! Listen to it as though for the first time...and give little old Mrs. McGillicuddy down the street the thrill of her life!

  • Goodonya Sallyetc, you sound like you're my kind of gal. Love yuh

  • Backatcha, Doll! I think a lot of our problems in the world come from people not being able to run naked down the street without either being arrested or run over by an SUV. Have a great day!...

  • Any beaches over there whereby one can go naked, females (topless)in Norway. I was in Bergen on west coast a couple of years ago doing an insurance investigation claim. It's a lovely part of the world. The only time a Sydney insurance company has sent me abroad. Happy New Year Darl'n.

  • Plenty of beaches, but it's usually kind of chilly! I'm originally from Chicago, where you'll get arrested. I live close to Bergen--the west coast is gorgeous. I've never been to Australia, but always wanted to go. Sydney sounds great! Have a terrific 2009, Toots!

  • the lead singer is Jack Nicholson in "Psych Out", a Roger Corman film shot in the Haight Ashbury district of SF.

  • homer simpson's drug song!

  • Who was the actual lead singer on the studio recording of Incense and Peppermints?

  • Greg Munford, he was a friend but not a member of SAC..

  • I had heard no one knew who actually who steped in and did the lead vocal. Well, Thanks for the info.

DENISE YOST, OF THE CLASSICS 4 PASSED AWAY.

    RIP DENISE.

  • 1 Origination point of Lynyrd Skynyrd... !!! Ed King on Guitar used his money to front skynrds sessions and first recordings... based solely on his well-known name as a member of SA... he was able to get them a recording deal with Al Koopers sounds of the south records.. later picked up by MCA..

  • Love this oldie...nice post ubeumbe

    thanks Laura!!

  • a bit of this songs in weekend at burnsies (simpsons)

  • Thanks for the info! Sounds like a neat movie to watch.

  • Looks like Nicholson to me lol. I always loved this song. I have the 45 of ti somewhere around here... :)

  • It looks like Jack Nicholson because it is Nicholson. I rented this movie, I beleive called "The Trip" 68'. Jack was a errand boy for the studios in the late 50's through mid 60's. They said he wasn't good looking enough to get real parts. This was one of his 1st movies, and it isnt very good. (True Story) I read a couple of books on Jack, big fan!

  • I think I've seen all of his movies. Whatever they said back then, to me he's perfect as an actor.

  • it might be called "psyche out". i bought the vhs at a garage sale and nicholson is in that too and i'm pretty sure this scene is from that movie, but i don't know what Trip 68 is so i might be mistaken

  • Your right Psych-Out. I was right about 1968. I looked it up because this stuff is important if your ever having "Hippy Talk" at a cocktail party!

  • Back then it was light strands and acid....now its lazers and ecstacy

  • this songs fucking bad ass...they play it on the radio at my work......

  • Jack Nicholosn is in this! 1:11

  • Totally out there and would be a massive hit today-Homer Simpson digs this song too when he's not loving Billy Joel

    100.9ZZZFM

  • RECUERDO ESTA SUPER ROLA CUANDO TENÍA 18 AÑOS, AHORA TENGO 58, AMOS DE LA "pSICODELIA"

  • Isn't it from the so bad its good film 'Psych out'?

  • To think Ed King joined Lynyrd Skynyrd later on...what a career change.

  • AM I crazy, or is that Jack Nicholson on bass? Maybe I need some acid!!

  • I thought the same thing! Hand me the bong please....

  • Yeah I believe it is. this is a scene from a movie called Psych-Out.

  • This looks like some of the parties my older brothers old me about. Far out.

  • In the entry, was that Wolfman Jack or George Carlin?

  • It is Wolfman Jack.

I was sitting in science class and I started singing this out of nowhere and my friend looked at me like " o_O What the heck!?" XD haha

    I love this song! :D

  • The song that hit my heart when it came out. I was 5 living in Ventura, CA but still it is my fav tune!!

  • WOLFMAN JACK!

  • We love the Wolfman!!!!!

  • There are some weird insence vids on youtube and this is one, ive made one also. Some insence sticks are thin and they smell of burned wood so it is best to avoid this species of insence stick. I saw on michael woods myths and heroes - he went into this bazaar in yemen and at this stall they burned him a lump of murrh and he said it was very strong n great and it looked glorious so maybe for the best insence its best to avoid the stick or get to know which sticks you know are special like i do.

  • What the hell are you talking about?

  • yea really i htink hes a lil off his rocker ha

  • wow man, thats far out. :) insence... u know whats good insence? the herbal hash stuff you can get. rub it into a cone and burn that :):):):) im coming down from 120x salvia divinorum but serously man, i want what youre having XD this vid is making me feel like im right there trippy. peace ;)

  • ?

friggin crack head. at least try to make sense

  • Crack was not the scene then. why are you so special peaches. friggin say what you mean turd.

  • social -observational lyrics,' good sense innosence, cripplin mankind, dead kings many things i can define, occasions persusations clutter your mind" How cool is that. And you know there were no pre written lyrics for that song.

  • volitle lolly pop of sound of indigo mask on the max....sounds a biit like a zappa song.

    greeeeeeeeet thou, though,

    like the carnival like video.

Mural of symbolic trix. captures good vibrations

  • Zappa was a AVANT-GARDE artist (not specialized in psychedelic-pop)

Psychedelic rock begin in 1965 with the first singles of the Doors "Moonlight Drive" and the deep "End Of the Night", Kim Fowley's "The Trip", The Yardbirds "Still i'm sad" and Byrds "Eight Miles High" (March 1966)

  • groovy people man. like really far out. i wish it were now. imma start a hippy movement sooner or later. care to join me anyone?

  • I always burn strawberry incense while eating some peppermint patties and slurping down a really good cuppa java.

  • go cat go. im having a back flash.

  • That's "flashback", amigo. Mebbe you'd better back the dosage down a wee bit there.

  • love it! love tha band, love th music, love the 60's!

  • I guess if I had to choose I'd rather have a Strawberry Alarm Clock than A Clockwork Orange.

  • RODERICK... ...really? A Clockwork Orange is much sweeeeeeter... lol

  • Part of my point here was that maybe they pilfered, er, "adapted" their name from Tony Burgess's novel which was published, I believe, circa 1962.

  • ...my bad for poppin' off like that. i re-read & now i understand what you meant

  • Uh-Oh; too late to recall the napalm strike as the mission's going down under strict radio silence. Better get the marshmallows out.

  • Whata hell is Jack "the" Nicholson playing guitar out there??? I can defina! But Nothing to lose!

This film i think is from 67 and is one of the first from jack in script writing. I think also Eric Clapton say something about jack and the film at his recent biography.

I've read a recent Jack Nicholson interview about it. He said in the times he take the film to France and show it for some great french and italian movie makers and they like it filling up the tail with LS...

  • i feel it

    sooooo cool

  • psychadelic!

  • i love this song and the band the vision is so out there

    way cool

  • Farrrrr Out!

  • I love this song! whats with the mubmilng jack?

  • he's tripping on :)

  • This is more than you see on the DVD. The song was not shown in its entirety in the theatrical release, which is what is on the DVD. I understand the HBO Video VHS has the director's cut. this appears to have come from Wolf Rock TV, however.

  • Was this footage from some jack nicholson movie? Pretty wild...loved this song when it came out but the 45 rpm was scarce to buy in the record even then. finally found a used one and played it so much the record turned white..worn out! LOL! the Organ and Fuzz Lead guitar really hooks you! Great lyrics too!

  • i presume the scenes must be taken from the 1968 flower power head trip movie "Psich-Out".. :)

  • Hah! I thought the name was Freak Out... I know that there was another movie about acid..called The Trip...with Henry Fonda... Ah well...my mistake? smiles...

  • no problem mate, thank's for the " Doctor " anyway !:) ps: check the "rainy day mushroom pillow" video i have, a live performance that's been taken from "Psych-Out". You'll see that the scenes from this "incense and peppermint" video were taken from there. ppssyycchh :)

  • Hey Doctor...this is from Freak Out...a great movie that had the feel of the times in Cali. And I am still there dude...a flower child all the way...Peace!

  • Did I see Jack Nicholson? Seriously I don't have a memory for this thing.

  • yes you did see him, playing a guitar or a bass guitar, seems like he's having good fun too :)

  • yes appear JACK NICHOLSON (also in others Psyched-Hippies movies of the era)

  • I love that song!

  • what that guy says at the beginning is funny :)

  • jajajajaja, i need some drugssss

  • dame
