LOL switzerland , LOL, it's really a country that is too much " in order " for me , no fantasy and all that ! Yuk ,and , yes " time " and " money" how exciting ! LOL
I've never been there, but a friend of mine spent a month in Swizerland. He reported that the whole country was remarkably neat and clean, the people were all unfailingly polite, and goodness knows, everything ran on time...
But he also said, that as an American, the place was uncomfortably, "orderly", and so, rather boring.
LOL, believe me or not , i havent made check my battery yet ( haha) and i still got problems as the other day, i had left my radio on for a very short time and when i wanted to start the engine, it was not like it is usually , i mean it took more time to start haha, but i ll soon be on holiday , so ill do it ( errrr, yes , i WILL =))
@BelgianSigma to a belgian maybe not but to a tourist aged 20-40 very boring indeed. also almost everytime im there it rains and most of the buildings are gaudy
Hey all you Belgian experts. Can you tell me what's going on in the new year. I've got a eurostar ticket that I can rebook over the next few months. Thanks!
Are you going for new year eve? If yes, there is the big firework to be seen from the Mont des Arts - then clubbing (in style) is never a problem: le You, , Louise Gallery, le Museum, Studio 44, le Soho, le Fuse and VIP... for the bars if I had to advise only one: The Delirium...2000 + beers
Don't forget that winter sales starts from on the first weekend of January (actually they are already selling with discounts right now!) - so for a shop till you drop bargain hunting it's the right time for you to go!
If you need tips on what to do and where to go in Brussels, just ask to enjoy Brussels to the full - will be happy to give you some of my personal favourites :-) In the meantime have an excellent Xmas eve'.
Living in London is fun but hectic. I always like to come to Brussels to unwind but still have things to do. Any cool new restaurants/bars/shops that have opened recently that you can recommend? And what do you think of the new Magritte museum?
Not new at all, but we usually go back there from 5Am to ... when it closes: Goupil le Fol and Le Corbeau. If you're keen on Jazz, L'archiduc and its after-shopping Jazz sessions... cool. More after Xmas eve' ;-)
Magritte Musuem really great but you really have to book in advance from their website to get in at the moment: their success is huge and queueing when not pre-booked can really get annoying
I have not been to the Business Meeting centre opening - I've had a chance to use the Square recently and I don't know of many Palais des Congrès that can boast to orignial master piece fresco on a combined 7 m by 18 m by two internationally acclaimed Belgian mastersMagritte & Delvaux who break up art auction selling prices ...
Don't get me wrong. I like Belgium. It's a lovely cosy country with high standarts of living. However Brussels' culture life (I can only speculate about Brussels because I live here) is pooper compare to other neighbour cities (Paris, London, Amsterdam).
Wath makes the charm of Brussels in her human size. As to things to do, where to eat, where to stay, she has nothing to envy to other capitals.... Don't forget that the huge demographics of London and Paris make them much tougher to live in --- asks all the Parisians who give up on Paris to come and live in 150 m² flat instead of their usual Parisian shoe box. As to going out, there is alsways a place to keep you busy up to well after 3PM which is not the case in London...
I constantly monitor brussels international web site trying not to miss any interesting events happening here. I watch Brussels TV on regular basis. But comeon that's not the level the European capital deserves. (Have you been to the big opening of the Brussels Meeting centre?..)
@ tochkabe: I can see you must be an expert (!) - I suppose that the places you best know about Belgium are Bruges and its museum pace of life or the EU district and office blocks in Brussels - I feel sorry for you... You really should try the way we Belgians do "live" our country --- and by the way the international student community does not agree with you! Our reputation as party beasts is not to be built up anymore amongst the well-informed youth! Get informed before posting BS on youtube!
Nice video. But Belgium is still boring though. Everything is closed at six, after seven you can hardly see people on the street (even in the city center).
I lived in Belgium for 4 years and loved every minute! and after watching this hilarious video even more! and the great blurb only completes the picture... great fun!
Very good! Boring? that Mr High has indeed never been to Belgium, I very much look forward to hear what is his feedback when he receives the parcel! Not that I have ever read the Moon but let me know! Well done for the video. See you in Belgium soon
Funny video! I didn't know the Belgians invented the smurfs and the saxophone! Looking forward to visiting the new Magritte and Tintin museums and consuming lots of chocolate and kriek when I visit Brussels this Christmas.
These people are sick! Belgium is the best country ever!!

Some say Luxembourg is Europe's most boring country, but Switzerland gets my vote.
A whole country based on clocks and banks. Fun for all!

Well, in all fairness to the Swiss, there is their habit of yodeling.
You can't beat a good yodel, for a fun times!
(Which, I understand, they begin doing at precisely at 4:01pm, as soon as the banks close.)

Yodeling ah yes, i didnt know what it meant but suddenly i did ! LOL
As soon as the banks close ! haha
I have been once on holiday with my parents and it reeked of money everywhere ! yuk !
