  • Bob Fosse was brilliant. This dance stole the show. Its a dance you never forget.

My daughter is a dead ringer for the lead dancer .She also has the same dance abilities.

  • i remember doing this dance freshmen year in my school 4 a performance. that was such a fun dance i swear ill do it again in a heartbeat

  • Am I the only one who thinks that Brainstorm (Arctic Monkeys) is inspired in this song?

  • Beyonce Stole This In Her "Get Me Bodied" Video

  • @97JLH

stole??? she was inspired by this

  • @breybrey2dajizzay i wonder why she didnt give credit to them?

  • @97JLH

i'm very sure she did but probably didn't announce it to the world. i have her B'Day anthology video album and i watched the making of this video but i don't recall her talking about the inspiration for it. but if its beyonce, shes gonna be inspired when it comes to makin her videos, unless she has a natural fresh idea.

  • Amazing very original

  • what's SYTYCD and where can I view it please?

I've always admired the lead dancer , Suzanne Charney, she was in the original Broadway production in 1966 in the same role.

    cheers, Jamie

  • SYTYCD brought me here too. I've been reviewing Season 3 and Wade Robson's Top 20 group dance led me here.

  • BEYONCE COPYED THIS!!!!!!!

  • @kcscribble19 Beyonce has ALWAYS been public about Single Ladies and other videos being inspired by Bob Fosse. #calmdown

  • @Bootyvicious9 NO SHE HASNT IF SHE WAS PUBLIC ABOUT WHO SHE WAS "INSPIRED" BY THAN Y DOES SHE GET SUED LEFT AND RIGHT FOR COPYRIGHT INFRIGMENT..........

  • SYTYCD brought me here...anyone else???

I love that this show turns a new generation onto dance and the classics

  • @gonzalesjc Ugh. I don't. Literally everything is being junked up by dumb shows, dumb videogames and whatnot ....

  • Classic dance sequence! I love the homage this gets in that Maybe video by Emma Bunton.

  • THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE INSPIRATION FOR SINGLE LADIES BEYONCE

  • @mamankaya do you mean get me bodied?

  • That lead woman dancer had no bones in her wrists!!

  • ok people at :32 say this to the beat and you will have no choice but fall out lauphing.

"Bich fuck you mean, ill take yo man!"

  • @TheLeadCreator I did both!

  • Way better then videos on BET in 2011.

  • @October33rd Formula: "Add butt implants, subtract dancing ability".

  • What font is that at the beginning? Anyone knows?

  • ok, and the dance at @0:33? i'm using it in the club. i want to do that so bad xD

  • @lilfairyfeet lol, yeah, same :)

  • i love this soo much <3

  • @lilfairyfeet Bob fosse is a genius. I love the controlled understatement, the cartoonish, tongue-in- cheek outrageousness of it all.

  • beyonce used this as inspiration for her "get me bodied" video :)

  • Just performed that song at school... everyone was laughing hahahaha :P

  • gonna have to do this dance in school......in high heels to. and am 5'10

  • I'd fuck everyone on this stage. EVERYONE.

  • i dunno this movie, maybe lady ghangsta copyed this

  • right down to the way they hold their cigs the same way

    that is detail

  • weird lol

  • You Beyonce Zombies can take her side on this if you want, but Beyonce uses youtube just like the rest of us and she mimicks, copies, and lifts other peoples work and tries to pass if off as her own. She probably didn't know who the hell Bob Fosse was until she copied the dance routine for single ladies and get me bodies videos'...The girl is a fake and fraud just like her daddy. She's not original and the only reason she gave credit to the man is because she GOT CAUGHT.

  • @broke2471 Do you know what the word "Homage" means? Beyonce has been very articulate about her influences and her love of musical theater. I appreciate that she brings this passion to a younger audience who now look on You Tube and learn something.

  • @PudgeyFatAssuncle - I know what the fuck paying homage is. That bitch only claimed she was a fan of Fosse, AFTER, she was questioned about copying the routine for single ladies video. What she thought was she was going to be slick as always trying to steal someone elses shit, as she has always done. This bitch copies everyone so it makes me wonder does the bitch even know who she is. Again, she GOT CAUGHT. She only claimed to want to do broadway after she got caught and did the Oscars.

  • @broke2471 My aren't we an angry one? And with your language, I have the assurance that you don't have the savvy to know what the word "homage" means. Why don't you stop posting and take some course in manners. I am sure that Beyonce must be crying knowing how you feel.

  • @PudgeyFatAssAuntie - Actually no anger here, I'm laughing as I type because I find it funny how fags like you get on here and try to tell people what they can and cannot say & as we continue on with this little exchange how you'll say I started it. Sure I know what homage is, I also know that the bitch is the queen of copying other artist, so when u pay homage, you don't sneak & copy shit then when you get busted you come out with an explanation that you where in fact inspired as she put it.

  • @pudgeAUNTIE- And I'm sure she is crying being that when the bitch won the six grammy awards how her sister went on twitter bitching about why no one gave her the props for wining that night. Fortunately the spotlight wasn't on that bitch, but on Pinks performance. Then she wants to leak the vid, "Why don't You Love Me" & her arrogance & hurt showed when her attention seeking ass dust off her grammys. What an arrogant, self-centered bitch she is - Fuck BeYAWNcy, & fuck you...Oh & LMAO.

  • @broke2471 Can you get some help for the private messages you have been sending me? You sound like Beyonce did something personal to you and you are very bitter. I am not particuarly a fan of hers, I just made a statement so your falsehood could be challenged. Your viscious comments are unwarranted and you need to see a professional immediately, that is, if you are not in the psych ward using their computer.

  • @pudgeAUNTIE - Bitch the only help I need is for people like you to stop thinking you can come on here and tell me what the fuck I can commit on and about that's the only help I need..and No, Faggot, if I was in the psych ward using their computer, that would mean I'd be there visiting your momma. U can challenge what u want bitch, u can dispute what u need but what you're not going to do is, tell me what I can & cannot say about that bitch. Fan or no fan, keep your ugly ass out my business.

  • @broke2471 Tell the psychiastrist to increase your Haldol and the charge nurse in the psych ward should monitor the TV in case someone turns on music videos and SINGLE LADIES comes on. That would put you right in a straight jacket. Take your pills dear and hopefully you will join the sane sometime soon. God bless!

  • @Auntiepudgey - LMAO, you corny fat bitch...I guess u either looked up Haldol, take it yourself, or work at a psych hospital or maybe your momma takes it, I don't know, so u had to come on here to show what you know. Let me tell your nasty fat ass something, it's not that serious, but apparently it is for u since u call yourself jumping on my comment about the bitch, yes I said bitch..so I think you're the one with issue. I said what I needed to say & it pissed u off so think about it bitch.

  • @broke2471 I guess that Haldol needs to be increased. And don't forget to attend Anger Management today. There is much you can learn. In fact, a course in manners might be helpful too dear. How about we make a bargain? If you take your meds, go to groups and do your excercises, I will send you a DVD of Dreamgirls. God bless and I wish you a speedy recovery from your episode of mental illness.

  • @pudgeyAuntie - LMAO. Actually girl, u can keep your copy of Dreamgirls, I have the "Original" play & soundtrack without all that squealing & yodeling that bitch beYAWNcy did in it, besides her acting was horrendous as always, I guess when your father sends her to fuck the producers she can do what she wants. the talentless bitch...Oh and by the way, thanks for the offer, but if and when I need anger management I can take care of that myself, you might want to save your money for bigger pants.

  • @broke2471 A Broadway show's recording is called a "cast" recording, not a soundtrack. And maybe you need a course in English first.? And you should not post your ideas as facts when you cannot corroborate them. Do you know what that word means? I also happen to have the body of a gymnast but then you seem to live to make assumptions. And I wasn't offering any financial help to you. I am sure you are likely to be a ward of the state if you do not maintain better impulse control dear.

  • beyoncé loves Bob Fosse

  • best dance scene ever by the best choreographer ever. hats off to late grate bob.

  • Darling you don't know what you're talking about - Fosse was not only married to the great Gwen Verdon and had a daughter, Nicole, but he was quite the ladies man. My honey was his adman formany years and saw him with his own eyes in action. Trust me. You are dead wrong on this one...I'm just saying.

  • @YnesNine you are full of shit

  • Ha Ha but who broke the Record as well made History, Beyonce'. She is number 1 and that's why Beyonce,'was in the front page in Daily News, Los Angeles Times new paper just to name a few important papers. The girl is very important. Beyonce,Beyonce,Beyonce. Q~Q. Beyonce' the Best Q~Q

  • Not wanting to sound like a troll, but I would have to say it seems like I would enjoy Le notti di Cabiria more then this. I perfor Giulietta Masina as Cabiria. She was an amazing actress.

  • Bob Fosse, you have to say, has got is own style,All That Jazz best film ever.

  • She didn't excatly copied more like she was inspired.

And she also got the 'Single Ladies' dance from Bob Fosse's wife.

Which by the way the video is creepy!

  • I would say it inspired Beyonce IF --- she did a jazz'/pop routine with some Fosse/ jazz moves-- But she DIDN"T she did the same concept right down to the hand and head / hair moves, THATS CALLED stealing Fosse's idea and his creative work !

  • You must be ext. young---it's ok to be "inspired" sometimes, but ALL THE TIME?" I am a Bey fan, but I have come to realize that she is not creative at all--she copies everything and then passes it off as being "inspired" by others. She doesn't write her own music, she doesn't come up with her own themes and then her family gets upset when ppl question her about her work ethic as far as creativity goes. And to think ppl are citing she is the next MJ--yeah right!!! That will NEVER happen.

  • No it won't never happen. It already has, I mean every singer copies from the older singer/dancers. She gave credit to Bob Fosse and Gwen for her inspirations. Check her out on 106 & Park.

  • Saw this Musical at the Chocalate Factory in London. Was Fantastic!

  • The song is amazing! Wonder what the title is?

  • Elvy Rose, I love you, marry today!!

  • the shite is your spite

  • wow this is like the white version of GET ME BODIED by BEYONCE XD iloveit!!!!

  • No this is First ----Beyonce copied this from BOB FOSSE !!!!! This is from the movie Sweet CHARITY.

  • inspired sweetie

  • I honeslty thought Bey came up with that them herself...I never knew anything about this until now. It's so sad because, I am a fan of hers.

  • LOL! I have to agree. Although, Beyonce' has admitted that she looks to Bob Fosse for inspiration on her moves. The choreography is AMAZING in this clip!

  • it's the "original" version , dummy

  • The music at 2:15 reminds me of the scary organ music from "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken."

  • aah we have this dance with our dance school:):)

  • I want to learn this dance!! Does anyone know where or how? eek!

    Love,

    Skye

  • I do this dance at night naked

  • so do i !!!!

  • @Rollman1

    What does "Frug" mean?

Have you seen Le Notti di Cabiria on which it's based ? Shirley Maclaine even looks like Giuletta Masina who played Cabiria (Chari

  • @highsmith7 I never herd of Le Notti di Cabiria Is that French ? The Frug was a dance don to pop an soul music back in the 1960s It did not look like at all like this dance The Aloof This was Robert Fossies invention

  • @Rollman1

It's a classic of Italian cinema directed by the master Federico Fellini and starring his wife Giuletta Masina.

  • @Rollman1

    In your dreams, you do!

  • @Drblooter99 What do i have to show you?

  • @Rollman1

Show me it all, Oh Weird One

  • I can see where the Freemasons get their inspiration in the clip When you touch me.

    This is great!

  • So how come Chicago gets all the attenshion over this gem?

  • @Rollman1 --- possibly because Chicago's a much more recent production. the public memory is extremely fickle.

  • @Rollman1 cuz Chicago had really good title names...Catherine Zeta Jones, Taye Diggs, Renée Zellweger, and Richard Gere...that's probably why...i dont know. that's my guess

  • @lovedarlingjulie2435 - Yeah, and who the hell is this Shirley MacLaine person? Somebody get her some botox and ipecac, STAT!

  • classic...

  • Amazingly enough the technology exists to make movie clips without taking a picture of your tv.

  • lol.

  • Timeless classic!

  • I wonder if Fosse spent much time watching flamingos.

Has to be the most expressive cigarette smoking of that generation.

  • you want my body, wont you get me bodied?!

  • this is kinda like the video get me body by beyonce

  • she got her inspiration for the video from this musical.

  • i love bob fosse soooo much!

  • dam that was amazing

  • I've heard stories of what a scary perfectionist Fosse was in rehearsals ... and boy did it make a difference. No one's choreography is half as stylish as this.

  • This just makes me think of an Edward Gorey book come to life. Awesome.

  • We did this at our school and I loved it!

  • coll!

  • Wiggle

  • I really disliked this movie when I saw it on an airplane when it was new. In later years I came to appreciate go-go dancing, though.

Many of the female dancers here look like Edie Sedgwick.

  • I think alot of you need to appreciate what you appreciate and stop hating and praising people you don't know. It looks sad, almost like you live to love or hate someone one you never may know in your partial part of life. The clip is hot and fosse ingenuity has inspired a new generation of performers.

  • Comment removed

  • we just did this at our school :) so cool.

  • like beyonce she done it

look the way they walking that s funny

  • Yes she did

  • Did Beyonce copy this?

  • HELLO!!!But of sourse she's not seen as a copycat next thing you know they are going to say she copied Beyonce!!!WHich is ridiculous but you know how her STANS can be!!!!

  • Love the ending where everyone goes into crazy fits!

  • who's that dancer?

  • I think it is good when this generation of artist remind people or pay homage to earler genius. I t just interests a whole new generation in Fosse. She does a good job of updating/honoring and adding to without stealing,

  • I think some of beyonces best videos are the ones that are inspired by others..her remixes of others dances always end up being hot

  • In which musicvideo was the "touch somebody" dance, besides than in Beyonce's? Anyone?

  • what? do you mean get me bodied?

  • When you touch me-freemasons

  • kinda creepy but still cool

  • omg" :L at my dance school our show is to thsi music!:L x

  • When you see this you realise what a debt today's pop choreographers have to Fosse (not to mention Jerry Robbins, Gower Champion, Jack Cole and Michael Kidd), just look at any R&B video on MTV . And just look at how these dancers dance................bloody amazing!

  • awesome, yet so incredibly sketchy!

  • I love this dance sequence ! I did this in my dance school it was soooo cool :)

  • This is sick! I absolutely am mesmerized! Which year was this? Todays stuff pales in comparison. These moves are so creative and magical to watch!

  • whymee100, the film was produced in 1969 and the stage play opened in early 1966.

  • Thanks! :-)

  • this is amazing!

  • amazing

  • Oh man, this is killer. I can't explain it, but this dance changed my life years ago in a way I could never explain. And I don't dance!

On a second note, I did some genuine Fosse choreography today....and it's a killer! Deceptively, deceptively simple. All those dancers are gods.

  • This is like former spice girl emma's single "maybe"

  • beyonce stole the chreography from this movie/play to do her lame ass song ''get me bodied''

  • This is genius :)

  • Im doing this as my first dance show at college & that walk kills!

Luv bob fosse & his style such a change from all the pretty pretty turning out.. look at me i can spin around with my leg over my head

  • A masterpiece!!!

  • seriously, who has EVER been more original, fearless, creative, and consistent than Bob Fosse. I think if you spent one day in his mind, the average person would just die. Too much to handle. What a mind....

  • i luuuv u bob fosse

  • Fosse was originality personified AND I loved his some of his choreographic style incorporated into Beyonce's Get Me Bodied; his style is clear but obviously hard to realize.

  • Who the hell is Beyonce? Some of us have been tripping on Fosse for 40-50 years!

  • classically true statement - thank you!!!

  • Lots of artists take inspirationg from other arts. It's not a big deal. She's paying tribute to it.

  • I know right. I can't keep up with today's current pop music and videos, it just sucks so bad. So I didn't even know anything about Beyonce doing a video influenced by this until I came on youtube seeing all these comments. Now it seems kids these days don't anything about great classics like these, so maybe it takes someone like Beyonce to wake them up to them.

  • i knew about this kind of stuff.....and yes beyonce was influence by it, so am i

  • This film was done with dancers hand-picked by, trained by, rehearsed by, directed by, and screamed at by Fosse. I know one of them and she's told me the greatest stories.

Anyway, no one has danced it better. This is the source.

  • XD this was my favorite number when I did Sweet Charity. I was so FUN!!!!!!

  • beyonce's was ok for a hip hop version of this. but NO one can ever trump the orignal

  • I agree. It was awful.

  • I had NO IDEA that Beyonce's "Get Me Bodied" was Fosse inspired. Maybe that's why I loved that video so much :) A Fosse classic with a modern spin. That's great.

  • I love this dance, even though it' s a right painful sonova@#$&% to do.

I love playing this song even more. WHEE!

  • I love this version and Beyonce's version. Beyonce did not copy ok she waz just making a newer version of it so STFU to all the HATERZZ

  • so this is where beyonce got her idea from!!!

  • I love the feel you get from this video.

    Just...UGHHH I LOVE IT!

  • For all of you Knocking Beyonce: I feel it's great that she took the time out to do a remake of this choreography because I've never heard of Bob Fosse, or Rich Man's Frug...but seeing this kept me in awe and had me watch ALL the clips connecting to this one. Come on' not a lot of stars give honor and credit to the original which help stem off the talent they have today...

  • Yea, some starts actually have ORIGINAL ideas...

  • UGH you've gotta LOVE bob fosse!

  • She did not rip it off. She said she loves this musical so that is why she did it. RESEARCH before you try to clown somebody please.

  • no she gave the movie credit for her music video plus she said this is her favorite movie

  • ummm. you obviously don't know the difference between a homage and a ripoff.

  • lul whoa.

    I wanna see this movie.

    x333

  • i did a dance at college in this style for our last show, it was to this music adn in a fosse style. i love dancing to fosse and i love his choreography.

    thanks for posting this

  • Props to Beyonce for doing an hommage.

As to the movie itself, I understand it did not do well at the box-office. Too bad, cause a number as great as this one needs to be seen.

  • I've always loved Bob Fosse and this is one of his greatest dances.

I think it's great that Beyonce has come out with a video that is an homage to this. And I think it's awesome that Beyonce even knew about this because not too many people know who Bob Fosse is nowadays. Hopefully a new generation can be inspired by him

  • I think Emma Bunton's Maybe idea is better than Beyonce's Get Me Bodies. Emma made a version of the video, Beyonce copies the entire thing.

  • That actress/dancer almost did that hair fling better than beyonce!

  • God Im addicted to this video... love it...

  • this is the best dance scene in a movie ever, I was laughing so much, the moves are brrrriliant! where has all the eleganzzzza gone?

  • hahaha, this is so cool

  • Bob Fosse is a creative GENIUS..sweet charity is DEFINITELY one of my favorite musicals OF all time

  • bob fosse was a creative genius

  • lol@the Beyonce "dislikers" yall need to get a JOB ASAP cause talkin shit about beyonce isnt a real one lol fuckin losers everybody in the world is inspired by something or somebody man so cut that bullshit out

  • IF the makers and everybody else that had something to do with the movie aint mad then why the fuck are yall? Mufuckas aint do shit

  • Well, Jynx, must say the second half of your name

says it all. Classic fool who can't put a simple sentence together without using profanity. Simply will not get any respect that way, and so your

comments will have no merit for the rest of the board.

  • i bet none of u ppl have even seen sweet charity, if u did u would think the beyonce thing sucks cuz sweet charity is 1 of the best musicals of all time.

  • LOL Shut the fuck up and go suck Mr.Depp nuts

  • fuck you. ur just wantin me to suck him cuz u cant get some1 2 suck u

  • ALRIGHT GETME BODIED CLASSIC!!

  • Beyonce sucks.
