I just saw a video on YouTube where Windows 7 was run in a virtual window under eComstation which is remarkable. I used OS/2 3, and 4 and performed my work without the computer crashing like it did under Windows 95, and 98. I still have a copy of OS/2 4 and eComstation 1.3 on CD and may try the version 2 of eComstation depending on how much it will cost for the extra fees for driver support.
Wow, this brings out memories. My first WarpStock. I'm even in this video at 00:34! :D
A shame OS/2 never became the dominant OS. It had a wonderful object-oriented GUI and smooth multi-tasking/-threading - much better than what even XP is capable of today (I haven't tried Vista, but I doubt it's any better). Those shurely were the days...
I sort of wish IBM would release the OS/2 source on the GPL license. I was involved in OS/2 sales when Warp became available and had a few opportunities to try it out. I liked it better than Windows and in my opinion it ran better than Windows. I'm glad to see the OS is still alive and has a strong user base.
I've always wanted to know what WarpStock looked like. Thanx for sharing and long live OS/2. Buy the modern version from Serinity Systems at EcomStation.com.
