First SV was the first, Twilight and Gossip Girtl are just a fake TV series based of SV... They go through 3 junior proms, two Junior years, and umpos deaths... dances and proms are all about... I think that they go through 2 Christmas' in SVH... I have read all the books from all of the series and the series is too big to put into one movie... though I would like to see them try.
chances r they will fuck the movie up, they will make it into a huge comedy like the 21 jump street movie. and chances r they wont even find real twins to play the part but get one fucking girl to do both roles like hollywood does. if they do make a movie god i want the twins from the show to replay their roles, i dont care how old they r now

i used to read svh and sweet valley twins but only got a few books into sweet valley uni as i was outgrowing it by then. i dont think they have movie potential but i loved the books so much as a teen especially the super editions like perfect summer and malibu summer. i always thought they should have made the show more like the original beverley hills 90210, which was longer than the 20 minute nonsense they did make of svh! and in a way 90210 was similar - brenda and brandan were twins!

Iv read all the sweet valey kids, i own the majority of the sweet valley twins series, some of the sweet valley high books and the sweet valley university. but the tv series sucked...had really bad acting in it. So I reallly dont think that they should make a movie. unless they have better actors this time around

i'm looking forward to this movie. especially if Sara Paxton would play the role of Jess and Liz Wakefield. Sara is beautiful and blond. i can imagine her playing both roles as twins with opposite personality. and there is no other bigger star that will look good as Lila Fowler but Leighton Meeter. I saw Lila in Blair's character in Gossip Girl. Rich, Beautiful and Brunette. Sara and Leighton will look good together as best friends and rivals.

I own the original board games, several books, read them growimg up in the 80's. I recently found the season 1 DVD set and watched the whole thing in two days. Watched the whole series in the 90's. WE SOOOOOOOOOO NEED A MOVIE AND THE COMPLETE SERIES TOGETHER IN A DVD SET. Imagine what the Mattel"Barbie" line could do with the sexy twins as doll divas!
I read most of the books as they came out in the 80's. It was good, harmless pulp, but hardly a challenging read. I don't think the movie will be a box office smash, unless the reworked books become popular with todays tweens and teens. But since I rarely see anyone from that generation even pick up a book, I doubt this will happen.
It would have been better if they had started to make a show with the series way before the likes of Gossip Girl or 90210 took the TV stage by storm. SVH has a lot of material that is still interesting to the generation of today but the competition is tough when the audience wants faster evolving plots and more drama. If the producers of SVH can pull it off, it won't take much to get a cult following whether or not they read all of the books or are hearing about it for the first time.
@sisterhood222 sweet valley kids have 76,,then 7 snooper editions,then 5 super editions sweet valley junior high has 30, sweet valley high has 152, plus the super editions and liz and jess' diary plus a book about lila one about bruce and one about enid. sweet valley university has 59 books and then 18 thrillers ,theres also a book about their ancestors but i cant remember the name would have to go through them all lol hope this helps

I used to love the entire Sweet Valley series! I loved reading about the lives of Elizabeth, Jessica and all their friends. No, they shouldn't make it. When something becomes a timeless classic of literature it can only be ruined by making it into a film. It would be as if someone took Charles Dickens' Novel 'A Christmas Carol' and degraded it with flashy 3D animation and cast Jim Carey in the lead role. Having said that, the T.V. series was better than Jesus and if they wasn't for that I wouldn't have become a cheerleader, but it wasn't for that, I didn't become a cheerleader.
Oh god.. updating it with cellphones and blogs.. sorry I don't think it's going to work. The only people who are going to see this movie will be people in their thirties who grew up with the book, like myself. Considering that everything 80s has made a huge comeback, I don't think that the director should modernize it .
OMG! i love sweet valley! i used to read all the books in like 5th grade-ish, this will be tottally awesome but i'm not too sure about diablo cody? ... juno was great, but i'm not sure if svh is anything similar to that .... so ... we'll just have to hold our breaths i geuss haha...

DO it. i used to read this all the time growing up! i'd love to see a modern twist on it. especially with all the "teen drama" that's been popular, it'd be kinda kool to see how much can go on in the lives of completely opposite yet identical twins :)

i don't know how the flow of the story would be since it's composed of more than a hundred books... but i'd love to know. and i'll definitely watch the movie if they release it. i loved the books and i loved the tv series. i might also love the movie. good luck!

haha! I grew up with Jessica and Elizabeth. Iv read all the sweet valey kids, i own the majority of the sweet valley twins series, some of the sweet valley high books and the sweet valley university. but the tv series sucked...had really bad acting in it. So I reallly dont think that they should make a movie. unless they have better actors this time around

I grew up reading these books. I LOVED them and would love a movie. I just hope they cast the twins from the series and not someone new. I think they still look young enough!

i'm looking forward to this movie. especially if Sara Paxton would play the role of Jess and Liz Wakefield. Sara is beautiful and blond. i can imagine her playing both roles as twins with opposite personality. and there is no other bigger star that will look good as Lila Fowler but Leighton Meeter. I saw Lila in Blair's character in Gossip Girl. Rich, Beautiful and Brunette. Sara and Leighton will look good together as best friends and rivals.

I own the original board games, several books, read them growimg up in the 80's. I recently found the season 1 DVD set and watched the whole thing in two days. Watched the whole series in the 90's. WE SOOOOOOOOOO NEED A MOVIE AND THE COMPLETE SERIES TOGETHER IN A DVD SET. Imagine what the Mattel"Barbie" line could do with the sexy twins as doll divas!

I read most of the books as they came out in the 80's. It was good, harmless pulp, but hardly a challenging read. I don't think the movie will be a box office smash, unless the reworked books become popular with todays tweens and teens. But since I rarely see anyone from that generation even pick up a book, I doubt this will happen.

It would have been better if they had started to make a show with the series way before the likes of Gossip Girl or 90210 took the TV stage by storm. SVH has a lot of material that is still interesting to the generation of today but the competition is tough when the audience wants faster evolving plots and more drama. If the producers of SVH can pull it off, it won't take much to get a cult following whether or not they read all of the books or are hearing about it for the first time.

@sisterhood222 sweet valley kids have 76,,then 7 snooper editions,then 5 super editions sweet valley junior high has 30, sweet valley high has 152, plus the super editions and liz and jess' diary plus a book about lila one about bruce and one about enid. sweet valley university has 59 books and then 18 thrillers ,theres also a book about their ancestors but i cant remember the name would have to go through them all lol hope this helps

I used to love the entire Sweet Valley series! I loved reading about the lives of Elizabeth, Jessica and all their friends. And, yes I am definitely interested in a SVH movie.....I wonder who will be cast....?!?! I am both curious and excited how Sweet Valley will translate onto the big screen. I hope the Sweet Valley High movie really does happen..... I will see it for sure!

I read the books (all the way up to Sweet Valley University) and I loved them. I also watched the tv show when it aired as well. The movie would be a great blast from the past! I'm looking forward to it.

No, they shouldn't make it. When something becomes a timeless classic of literature it can only be ruined by making it into a film. It would be as if someone took Charles Dickens' Novel 'A Christmas Carol' and degraded it with flashy 3D animation and cast Jim Carey in the lead role. Having said that, the T.V. series was better than Jesus and if they wasn't for that I wouldn't have become a cheerleader, but it wasn't for that, I didn't become a cheerleader.

Oh god.. updating it with cellphones and blogs.. sorry I don't think it's going to work. The only people who are going to see this movie will be people in their thirties who grew up with the book, like myself. Considering that everything 80s has made a huge comeback, I don't think that the director should modernize it .

OMG! i love sweet valley! i used to read all the books in like 5th grade-ish, this will be tottally awesome but i'm not too sure about diablo cody? ... juno was great, but i'm not sure if svh is anything similar to that .... so ... we'll just have to hold our breaths i geuss haha...
