this is horrible. nobody throws strikes from that distance. When the striker is right up in your face and throwing strikes, this BS goes out the window. You MOVE... you may land one of these AS you move, but please don't act like you're going to sit there and play chess with your hands, because that'll only end you up with many lumps.
@nomamao you are an idiot. these are training drills. its about finding a fighting range as you close.
as soon as THEY throw jab to find range, silat / fma / etc uses limb destruction to zero than range into trapping range. This video is about opening, HOW to get to trapping range.
@gambleyourhealth I'm sorry, I don't fight drunks while I'm sober and brag about it. All this talk and none of it's been shown in any ring I can remember. Care to show me some fights where these things are going on in real time?
@gambleyourhealth I'm sorry. Real fights happen with drunk dudes while you are sober and more than likely are the bigger guy to begin with? How did I not know this already? My dumb ass was fighting full contact kickboxing matches when i should've just been beating up bums to prove my martial skill. Wasted my life. I guess you win this one. I'll bow out now before you tell me how you choked out dead people or outran a hotwheels car.
@gambleyourhealth Leitai fighting (sanshou) in America. Anyone that says size has nothing to do with fighting has never fought bigger dudes. There's a reason for weight classes. Drunk guys don't like thumbs in their eyes or in their throat. I've had to move a few drunks too, but I'm 5'7 and 180. I know how to move and know that moving drunks isn't a test of martial skill. real fighter compete.
Ive faught people of all sizes. It was my job, not a sport for me. And we arent talking drunks. we are talking big ass aussie bikers that love to brawl after a few drinks.
@gambleyourhealth I've taught people of all sizes and have realized that because people like to brawl doesn't mean that they know jack about HOW to fight. It means they can take a punch.
I truly try to understand the limitations of what a video can do and what point the instructor is trying to make. So although I agree with arm destruction, I don't agree how practical this video is in distance and in real timing. I have robot arms that punch at human speeds and I assume I am IN punch range, why else wouold someone punch? As you are attacking the punched arm, unless you move quickly to the side of that arm, the other arm could nail you. No way can this video work in real life.
@rbt4rbt These techniques can, should, and will be used in combination with blocks, parries, dodges, other evasive techniques, and footwork. This is a video introducing the concept of limb destruction, and is very good at what it is designed to do, but rest assured that the instructor will then train his students in use of these techniques combined with footwork, parries, etc. If you're lucky, he'll post videos of them.
@plarles Thanks. Now I see what your saying when combined with what you mentioned. I truly am in favor of your ways of destroying the arms when you can, which is often when trained to do so. The body should not be the only target. The more I "play" with it all though, having non-lethal tools at hand are much better than bare handed fighting. I'll subsripe to see your other videos when they come out. Peace and Happy New Year.
@copypacercopypacer Bro your very wrong. I teach Muay Thai and practice Kali escrima as well. Muay Thai strikes are developed to be way more powerful than openhanded Kali. Speed isn't based on the style of fighting but the fighter themselves. Escrima is combat style developed to kill, where muay Thai is sport fighting. You can't talk trash about either style, and if I could suggest anything it would be to learn both. Together they make one mean ass fighting style.
To be clear, the point isn't to harrass, or to only harrass. The point is to attack the agressor's brachial nerves and muscles, thereby weakening his punch. If you watch the video carefully, towards the end before they jumped to the hook, the aggressor's punches started to weaken and slow down, and that was just practice. And, anyone who thinks a punch will break an elbow should punch the tip of a broom handle and let me know how their hand feels.
Or your kinda beginner or you forget your own defence but you should never use this on a martial artist ;), cuzz speed does matters :), and never give a upper elbow on a fist, if you are to fast,.. your elbow will break.. id suggest from the side als you perfomed as last.
No functional in real life, the punche real is more longer and more power, and the legs shoting in time you punch the hand of oponente. Muay thai ownage xD
@kaldnar but panatukan has faster punches and more power than muay thai. kali or escrima is better then muay thai because muay thai isn't as effective as filipino boxing
Works, providing the attacker stands stationary and doesnt want to come forward and has no aggression or real desire to fight... In other words, just another pile of macho, fancy crap that works in the saftey of the gym.
A guy throws a punch, you intercept it with a hard strike to his wrist, also setting him off balance, then you steam in with short fast punches or strikes to the the shoulders, biceps, neck and face. BANG BANG BANG BANG! reality based defense against a reality based attacker
Those destructions come in great when the other is a very cautious fighter or you being the one cautious because the other has a very long reach. I call it harassment, in order to provoke a desperate reaction due to pain and aggravation from the other side, where I can slam something good in.
What a load of shit.... I'm sorry but this is sooo misleading... I train Wing chun and buddy you would not stand a chance using that sort of technique
@ozzie4uk Dude, I contend to what you say, because probably you're thinking there's a million things you can do to bypass that...true, but try to see it in a completely situational manner, I've used that sort of stuff to great success, even against with WC people, which doesn't mean WC ppl are bad, just that I've had success with it. The purpose of that is to harass the other fighter and provoke a careless reaction on his/her part that will allow you to deliver a good hit or three.
....and not only that, basically you can creat great openings with those or cause the other guy to stop trying certain things against you. Try it instead of just saying what you have is better. Or post a video of an example why you believe it wouldn't work, which should be a good learning experience I bet. Cheers.
When you hit his right bicep with your right hand, just after hitting, although you return your hand pretty fast, you down your guard all the return. Even if your opponent is in pain because of the biceps, he would be able to land a punch in your face with his left while you return. You may try to return with your fist higher in order to avoid that. Look for example 0:55 to see what im talking about, your hand is at yours thigh height, there is when your vulnerable.
@DanielMorenoSoto I understand what your saying, but being in a real fight and talking to the camera are 2 different things. These are just things to add to your arsenal. Im not being very combative in this clip, just instructional
@DanielMorenoSoto you are wrong here. It'a a question of range. The defender needs just 1 step back and is out of range while he can hit the wrist or even biceps which is still in his range. I practiced today this with a sparring partner, free sparring , not controlled and it works great. Of course with 14oz boxing gloves there is no/little demage to the atacker's hands but bare knuckles it must be dangerous.
@CLSwebmedia Thanx for the logical response. Of course this stuff works, its been around for hundreds of years. I have used these techniques plenty of times as a corretions officer
@BladeSmartSystems Have you used these techniques in the ring? Because as a CO, there's a certain amount of hesitation that will occur because you ARE a CO, so don't front.

try and be a bouncer in Australia, see what these "drunk bums" can do. LOL. Ever had a few drinks and got into a fight?
