  • You are handling it too roughly, its just a sheep.. not industrial quality lead..

You grabbed its head too hard at 3:19

  • @MrRatermat I recommend you try shearing a sheep, especially going up the neck before you go all animal welfare army on the video.

Flat surfaces are required to run the handpeice through the wool. Even IF you could see the skin, you would not be able to shear it without A: cutting it and B: shearing it cleanly.

Please, know what you're talking about before you talk.

  • @sovereign126 I have, in fact, sheared a sheep. Being gentle enough will calm it down and then it won't fight you. I have sheep at home and they love me, because, the first time they were sheared, they were handled quite roughly, before i bought them.

  • @MrRatermat Shorn* post tense of shearing, is shorn. I live in the australian outback, and I can educate the English, on english?

Having correct positioning will calm it down significantly more than being calm with the sheep. As does letting them sit in the yards for a few hours to empty out their guts.

In the UK it wouldn't matter a great deal, as you wouldn't get large mobs of sheep at any rate.

  • Great Job

  • well done sheep and handler.

  • but how do you roll it up for presentation/sale?

  • good girl sheep

  • she is a good girl that sheep

  • sheep are clever not stupid

  • @shepherdewan No.... sheep are pretty stupid

  • @superpaulodonnell That comment tells me that you don't know much about the situation. Sheep are not cleverest of farm animals, but they are not the mindless zombies that popular opinion makes them. They simply react differently then larger, more self-reliant animals react. They are prey, and they know it. This (rightly) influences their behavior. They can actually be taught tricks, and can problem solve (when not frightened).

  • @CBJ607 you can comment on 117 0498 and 044

  • this is the elbow joint gear box. . It is a solid drive made and sold by George Mudge, Sheep Shearing equipment supplier, Devon, UK. It is easy to transport as the short tube folds right back on it self. Phil
