They might have been empty, but they were sold.

They made the announcement during the time for the opening bands should have played, and everyone hadn´t come yet. As we left, we hade to tell a lot of people that were going to see the concert that MetallicA cancelled.

And the tickets in Sweden ( 2 concerts) got sold out in about 20-30 minutes. ;)

Alright first off, I'm a Metallica fan. I love their songs and listen to them all the time. Also, I'm Swedish.

I can understand these people getting pissed off having paid expensive tickets to get there. But then again theres not very much that Lars, Robert and Kirk can do when James is ill, and I think it's very nice of them to offer a new date of same gig later on, no extra money. Most bands wouldn't have done that, creds to you guys!
