I always picture Clifton Collins Jr. when I read anything about Ranger. I don't know why. Maybe because of the slicked back ponytail he wore in Sunshine Cleaning with Amy Adams. I can't wait for this movie :)

Chris Evans is WAY WAY too young to be Morelli - the books say he's over thirty and his hair is wrong, he has neckline black hair that curls up when it's getting long! Tank is SUPPOSED to be lighter-skinned, and I would swap Vince Vaughn with The Rock. Lula is the best and Monique is a great choice though!

I have to say that I'm excited about the movie... and that I think Jason O'Mara and Daniel Sunjata will make a great Morelli and Ranger. I realize that O'Mara is Irish, but if you've seen Life on Mars, you've seen that he plays a great New York cop, so NJ isn't a huge stretch. Sunjata has the right look (despite not actually being Hispanic)... so I'm excited. I'm also not in the camp that hates the casting of Heigl as Stephanie. I reserve judgment until July, but I think she can pull it off!

Other than Betty White I agree with your cast list 100%!!! I don't see the rock as Ranger at all! And Sandra Bollock is too old to play Stephanie. Stephanie and Ranger are 30 and Morelli is just a few years older.

That is definitely not what I pictured as Joe or Ranger. A definite no on Connie- I always pictured her as a bigger women and the boobs aren't big enough. Perfect fit on Lula, Mooner, and Vinnie. The rest of the cast I would have to scrap!
I think all the choices were good, but someone more ethnic for grandma Bella. Betty White is too nice to be giving everyone "the eye". I think the old lady from Moonstruck that put a curse on the plane would be a good Bella.
And , I may be wrong.. but ..I think the old lady from Moonstruck is probably dead! Or maybe just too old. After all, that movie is from the 80's ..at least I think it is.
If you make a movie please consider changing Ramierez. The Rock is in family movies now, incredibly hot and strong, but not scary. I truly hope a movie being made is a possibility, these stories are THE BEST!!!

Eddie Matos from "cane" would make a perfect ranger. Eric bana or eric cahill would make a great morelli and kimberly williams would be stephanie. Monique is lula in my mind when I read the book....no one else.

Ranger might be better played by the Rock, rather than Oded Fehr - who isn't Hispanic, much less Cuban-American.
Also, for some reason, I picture David Boreanaz (of Bones and Angel) as Morelli. Yum.

Not sure if I'm bummed, but Reese Witherspoon is producing and 99% most likely starring as Steph (not really my choice) I think Rachel McAdams would be great. Ranger = Adam Rodriguez or the Rock most definitely. Joe Morelli is too freaking hard to cast. Channing Tatum would be perfect if he was older!

Great picks for the movie. The Rock is too nice to be Benito. I kept picturing Mike Tyson. Joy Beher is a too wild to be Mrs. Plum. Rebecca is too sweet looking and I don't think she could act the part.. Monique,Cloris,Oded are perfect. Stephanie is a hard one to choose. I don't want them to water her down or any casting pick for that matter.

Freaking PERFECT!!! Oded Fehr is HOT HOT HOT. Especially in The Mummy movies. he would make an awesome ranger. I have seen Betty White play an intimidating crazy old lady and I think she would be PERFECT for Grandma Bella. I am going to be picturing these people the next time i read a plum novel.
