That's what it's all about folks: a hype loop, funky beats, some real scratching and great braggadocio lyrics about who's the best MC. I agree with dpat2004, although I have to expand the time slot a bit: the best hip hop era was from 1984 - 1996. What do guys like Lil' Wayne know about diggin' for beats? What do they know about two turntables and a mic? These guys all have to pay their dues to the 'mid-skool' as I'd like to describe it. 1984 - 1996, the era that produced classic albums. Period.
