  • Cerbs?

  • @skullcove97

You can eat them until you are comfortably full. But I wouldn't gorge yourself on them. A full pan is probably a bit much. What I shown here is good for 2 generous sized servings.

  • You're great for all the (free) info you give out to others. Good job, mate! However, with that being said, these 'fries' are, well... It's not that they don't taste good, it's the consistency and texture of them. They aren't soft like fries, they remain kind of crunchy. When I bit into them they were analogous to an underdone french fry. Not to appetizing I'm afraid.

  • @pillsareyummy

If they are still hard, then you need to cook them longer the next time you make them.

  • those look like a good 3 portions easy, how many carbs is the two packs combined lee, great tip man!

  • @bighairymoomoo

I'm not sure off the top of my head, but you can just weigh it out and then look up the nutrition info for turnip.

  • lmao

  • dude stop fucking talking like that

  • @NeSsBiCh

Sorry but that's the way I talk, if you don't like it then stop watching my videos.

  • Lee, I made these a few days ago and they were awesome! But I couldn't find the pre cut turnips at Sobey's. I have about 9 more weeks until I'm on my full fibrous part of my contest prep, and want to really fill up on these. But having to cut these up by hand was a real pain. Do you know of any other stores that sell the pre cut? Thanks so much!

  • @87hockeychick35

The only place I've seen them was at Sobey's in St. John's, Newfoundland.

  • Lee, on your cheat day what or how much you consume of "bad foods?" I'm trying to regulate what I eat on my cheat day but I seem to over do it.

  • @icephil54

Simple, don't have a "Cheat Day" have a "Cheat Meal" instead. If you limit yourself to just one meal you'll minimize the damage done.

  • Just a question good sir.. Are you Canadian? Seems like it from the accent. lol.

  • @JamesAlexanderYo

    Yes, I'm from Newfoundland.

  • @leemhayward

You don't seem to have the Newphie accent boiee?

  • @JamesAlexanderYo

yeah dewd. really strong accent... sounds like he's saying: low curb... Newfoundland is coo tho. I love Lord Calvert :-)

  • Why would one want to make anything low carb AND low fat? Fat is awesome!

  • about time you made a recipe video

  • Looks good.........i'll try it.

  • Curbs

  • whats wrong with carbs?

  • @kertcobainSA

There's nothing wrong with them per say. But if someone is trying to lose bodyfat then cutting back on your carbohydrates will help your body resort to burning more fat for fuel. If you want more info about bodybuilding nutrition just go to my main channel page and download my FREE Bodybuilding Quick Start Kit, there's a free nutrition guide included with that download.

  • just dip it in tomato sauce YUM

  • Gary Taubes.

  • I like sweet potato fries (:

  • i tried this...its gross.. i crossfit and train hard and am all about health..but this is just not an alternative...just like those who think you can make carb less pizza from just using eggs as crust...just either eat these unhealthy things once every few months or just cut em out...

  • @garciarivero1

To each there own, I actually enjoy these turnip chips and eat them regularly. What seasonings and spices did you use? That will have a huge impact on how they taste.

  • great tip thanks!

  • lee this recipe is complete shit i made it and it is very nasty

  • @FarFromAlegend

  • How long after my workout should i wait till i can eat? cause im always really hungry right when i get home but i wait like an hour or so

  • @Srpskeoci

You should have a post workout protein shake right after your workouts. And then eat a solid food meal within an hour of your post workout shake. I've got a video talking about this called "Pre and Post Workout Nutrition"

  • @leemhayward Yeah lee i do take post workout protein i take Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60 i usually take it as directed 30minutes after workout,,yeah il check out your vid.

  • this is an awesome idea! i'm going to the grocery soon to buy some of those!

  • I bought the anabolic cookbook today, i cant wait to try it out there are so many recipes its ridiculous! XD

  • What happened to the classic Leehayward theme song? This one is cool thoughX)

  • @PapaD93

Just changing things up a bit... This is a little shorter, the other one took a little too long to get into the video and most folks online are very impatient.

  • Great recipe mate, but people should note that there is no need for most of us to go on a low carb diet, most especially when gaining muscle when that would actually severely hinder results. My advice would be to enjoy regular fries and start to track your food so you actually now what your daily macro goals should be - no recipe is healthy or 'builds muscle' - diets do that. Great vids as always though, keep it up!

  • @adgeee000

I still wouldn't recommend "regular fries". Eating deep fried foods on a regular basis is just a heart attack waiting to happen. Eating home made baked chips like this is a much healthier alternative.

  • why do people go on "low carb diets" please? and what does "healthy fat" mean please?

  • @tionlover

Cutting back on your carb intake is a great way to lose bodyfat. And healthy fats or essential fats are the fats your body needs, such as omega 3 fatty acids. I recommend you go to my main channel page and download my FREE Bodybuilding Quick Start Kit. I go into the basics of nutrition in that free download.

  • @tionlover people go on low carb diets b/c when you ingest less carbs, there is a less of a chance of your insulin to spike. crazy insulin spikes leads to increased chances of weight gain.

  • At first glance I thought this video was a joke, but then om closer inspection discovered that it was a serious video on how to make lo carb fat free french fries.

  • Lee cool video and all but at your size you really should be eating more carbs.

  • Thanks for the recipe!! Going to try it this weekend!!

  • I made them and they taste cool, specially if you add mayones, ketchup and lots of cheez whiz :P

  • @mesa4life what do u mean by spike ur blood sugar. So tired of that. food raises blood sugar a can of pop spikes ur blood sugar. But that shouldn't be something anybody worrys about. U could have high carb diet and as long as u workout and have a calorie deficit u won't gain weight. It's that simple. To think that carbs somehow is the key to fat loss is just insane.

  • Lee, this is great dude! Thanks man.

  • Good tip. They won't spike your blood sugar as much as potato fries either.

  • sweet potato fries rock too!

  • Lee, a potato is a vegtable! It just has more carbs

  • What do you say this is? Turn-ups or whatcha say?

  • @legggggggggy

Turnip or Rutabaga. Just google search it if you don't know what these are.

  • thanks for tip

  • @pretty23garbage

I eat everything I cook, I just don't video tape it. I suppose I could set the camera at the end of the kitchen table and video eating a meal sometime :-)

  • @leemhayward Do it.

  • what temperature to cook at!

  • @boby6

I set the oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Turn them over after 10 minutes. They should only take 20 minutes. Give or take, depending on how thick the chips are cut.

  • Är "Turnip" samma sak som majrova?

  • @STAB1L

These are root vegetables, some people call them turnip, they are also known as rutabaga. Just google search them if you are not sure what they are.

  • i wonder if its because of my diet that my muscles aren't really showing.

  • @Srpskeoci

The key to having muscle definition is to first have good muscular development, then second you need to lose all the excess bodyfat that's covering them. And your diet is critical to both building muscle AND losing bodyfat.

  • That's moyer than a little pam lee

  • @Titzmcfloppin

If you don't want to use any PAM you don't have to, but they'll stick to the baking sheet like "shit to a blanket" LOL

  • @leemhayward I fucking LOL'd at the shit to a blanket comment.

  • nice video... i wonder if they taste like refular french fries too. i'll try this one time. thanks lee. still waiting for that fat loss system video... btw, i didn't know you're left handed.

  • @LinLinIsMyFeyt

Obviously they don't taste exactly like regular potato fries, but they do have a nice taste and the spices you use will really help give them extra flavor.

  • @leemhayward well... here we eat turnips raw and we love it with vinegar... i didn't actually know that you can bake them, but i do know that we put them on soups... thanks for that. i really learned something, plus the fact that it's low in carb... again, thanks. we like turnips raw so... i guess turnip fries serves a delicious treat. healthy too.

  • Thanks Lee ... trying these tonight ...

  • what do they taste like?

  • @ChrisD4335

It's hard to explain taste, obviously they don't taste exactly like regular potato fries, but they do have a nice taste when baked and the spices you use will really help give them extra flavor.

  • currbs? or carbs?

  • Lee can you show how to make fat free double cheese burger

  • @yaspaaa lol!

  • @yaspaaa

You know you could make "low fat" cheese burger. You could use ground turkey for the burger patties, fat free cheese slices, etc. I'll probably whip one up sometime and post a video :-)

  • @yaspaaa boil to sirloin beef patties, them grill them and fat free chese and voila!

  • @yaspaaa healthy cheese with a good steak and no bread, done.

  • @Lyrikzyo Define healthy cheese?? Low fat? Theres move preservation and toxins in fat-free cheese than you could even imagine

  • There's fat in PAM...I think they measure it per second of spray.

Turnips are a pain to peel...but a food processor makes chopping them easy.

I put my turnip fries in my T-Fal Actifry with some garlic powder and seasoning salt...it does all the work...AMAZING! Only one tbsp oil.

  • @chrisarksey

Good tips, chopping them by hand would be time consuming, but a food processor would make for easy work.

  • @leemhayward So what else can you make fries with. My fiancee and I have tried: potatoes, yams and turnips. What else is out there?
