You can eat them until you are comfortably full. But I wouldn't gorge yourself on them. A full pan is probably a bit much. What I shown here is good for 2 generous sized servings.
You're great for all the (free) info you give out to others. Good job, mate! However, with that being said, these 'fries' are, well... It's not that they don't taste good, it's the consistency and texture of them. They aren't soft like fries, they remain kind of crunchy. When I bit into them they were analogous to an underdone french fry. Not to appetizing I'm afraid.
Lee, I made these a few days ago and they were awesome! But I couldn't find the pre cut turnips at Sobey's. I have about 9 more weeks until I'm on my full fibrous part of my contest prep, and want to really fill up on these. But having to cut these up by hand was a real pain. Do you know of any other stores that sell the pre cut? Thanks so much!
There's nothing wrong with them per say. But if someone is trying to lose bodyfat then cutting back on your carbohydrates will help your body resort to burning more fat for fuel. If you want more info about bodybuilding nutrition just go to my main channel page and download my FREE Bodybuilding Quick Start Kit, there's a free nutrition guide included with that download.
i tried this...its gross.. i crossfit and train hard and am all about health..but this is just not an alternative...just like those who think you can make carb less pizza from just using eggs as crust...just either eat these unhealthy things once every few months or just cut em out...
To each there own, I actually enjoy these turnip chips and eat them regularly. What seasonings and spices did you use? That will have a huge impact on how they taste.

You should have a post workout protein shake right after your workouts. And then eat a solid food meal within an hour of your post workout shake. I've got a video talking about this called "Pre and Post Workout Nutrition"
@leemhayward Yeah lee i do take post workout protein i take Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60 i usually take it as directed 30minutes after workout,,yeah il check out your vid.
Just changing things up a bit... This is a little shorter, the other one took a little too long to get into the video and most folks online are very impatient.
Great recipe mate, but people should note that there is no need for most of us to go on a low carb diet, most especially when gaining muscle when that would actually severely hinder results. My advice would be to enjoy regular fries and start to track your food so you actually now what your daily macro goals should be - no recipe is healthy or 'builds muscle' - diets do that. Great vids as always though, keep it up!
I still wouldn't recommend "regular fries". Eating deep fried foods on a regular basis is just a heart attack waiting to happen. Eating home made baked chips like this is a much healthier alternative.
Cutting back on your carb intake is a great way to lose bodyfat. And healthy fats or essential fats are the fats your body needs, such as omega 3 fatty acids. I recommend you go to my main channel page and download my FREE Bodybuilding Quick Start Kit. I go into the basics of nutrition in that free download.
@tionlover people go on low carb diets b/c when you ingest less carbs, there is a less of a chance of your insulin to spike. crazy insulin spikes leads to increased chances of weight gain.
At first glance I thought this video was a joke, but then om closer inspection discovered that it was a serious video on how to make lo carb fat free french fries.
@mesa4life what do u mean by spike ur blood sugar. So tired of that. food raises blood sugar a can of pop spikes ur blood sugar. But that shouldn't be something anybody worrys about. U could have high carb diet and as long as u workout and have a calorie deficit u won't gain weight. It's that simple. To think that carbs somehow is the key to fat loss is just insane.
I eat everything I cook, I just don't video tape it. I suppose I could set the camera at the end of the kitchen table and video eating a meal sometime :-)
I set the oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Turn them over after 10 minutes. They should only take 20 minutes. Give or take, depending on how thick the chips are cut.
The key to having muscle definition is to first have good muscular development, then second you need to lose all the excess bodyfat that's covering them. And your diet is critical to both building muscle AND losing bodyfat.
nice video... i wonder if they taste like refular french fries too. i'll try this one time. thanks lee. still waiting for that fat loss system video... btw, i didn't know you're left handed.
Obviously they don't taste exactly like regular potato fries, but they do have a nice taste and the spices you use will really help give them extra flavor.
@leemhayward well... here we eat turnips raw and we love it with vinegar... i didn't actually know that you can bake them, but i do know that we put them on soups... thanks for that. i really learned something, plus the fact that it's low in carb... again, thanks. we like turnips raw so... i guess turnip fries serves a delicious treat. healthy too.

Lee, on your cheat day what or how much you consume of "bad foods?" I'm trying to regulate what I eat on my cheat day but I seem to over do it.

Simple, don't have a "Cheat Day" have a "Cheat Meal" instead. If you limit yourself to just one meal you'll minimize the damage done.

There's fat in PAM...I think they measure it per second of spray.
Turnips are a pain to peel...but a food processor makes chopping them easy.
I put my turnip fries in my T-Fal Actifry with some garlic powder and seasoning salt...it does all the work...AMAZING! Only one tbsp oil.
